New Shanghainese restaurant from Vegas. Really liked seeing some authentic Shanghai dishes freshly made. They have a glass you can see the workers making the dumplings. We got the soup dumplings, shengjian bao, chili wontons, and scallion oil noodles. Everything came out very fresh and piping hot. Soup dumplings were loaded with soup and had a nice smooth flavor to it. Wrappers were very thin. Shengjian bao was crispy and super hot. Be careful when biting down because the juices will squirt out. They were in the smaller side but 4 to an order. Scallion oil noodles were very fragrant and solid. Chili wontons also tasted good and sauce had some depth to it. However, the only downside to the restaurant is how small it is and how few tables there are. We sat at the back along the wall and we basically shared a table with the people next to us. My wife sat on the inside against the wall and she couldn't get out without the two tables next to us also getting up to let her out. It felt like we were on an airplane. They also don't let you add items to your order because of how small and busy they are so they can get you out. The vibe is clean, modern, and surprisingly relaxed for a place serving Shanghai food this legit. Service was smooth, friendly, and impressively efficient. Now the food--wow. The Xiao Long Bao had the kind of flavor that made me pause mid-bite and question every other version I've had before. The Sheng Jian Bao was so good, I considered writing it a thank-you note. Stopped by for lunch a few Saturdays ago around noon thirty and our party of 2 was seated immediately. Glad to not have to wait for a table and that we were able to enjoy a quick lunch of shengjianbao, pork xiaolongbao, and fish wonton soup. Everything we had was great but I especially have to shout out the shengjianbao, which are hands down the best I've had in Texas and maybe even the US. The skins didn't overpower the filling, the bottoms were super crisp without being too oily, and there was SO much soup in each one. Would come back over and over again just for those! The xiaolongbao had super thin wrappers and lots of soup, and the fish wonton soup had a very savory broth and the filling of the wontons was very tender. Looking forward to returning for everything listed here and also to try some other dishes in the future. read more

this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. i was craving Sheng Jian Bao and we were in the area, so we ended up walking in. Luckily, there was one table left, so we didn't need to wait. The interior is kinda interesting. Its like a elongated hallway full of tables. and they have a glass kitchen where you can see them make the xiao long baos. I also like the pictures they hung on the wall, depicting all the different types of food they serve. We ended up getting a Sheng Jian Bao (pan fried dumplings), crab xiao long bao (xlb), wonton soup, malantou, and shanghai rice cake. It was a lot of food for 2 people, and i think we spent like close to 60 bucks for everything. Out of all the things we ordered, the crab XLB was the best, but the sheng jian bao was also good. I was really shocked to see how fast they bought out the food. No joke, we placed the ordered for the sheng jian bao, and it came out in like 3 minutes. (guess its already cooked, and they probably just reheated it or something). My wife really liked the malantou veggie dish, which she says its rare to find in supermarkets / restaurants here in texas. My only gripe was the water. I really liked the pan fried soup dumplings. I have not seen it before but the dumplings were full of juice and very delicious. I did not like the chili wonton but I have also heard that the noodles here are good so I will try it again next time. It is a little pricey but the staff were very friendly. This restaurant is my new favorite place. I've gotten or tried at least ten things here and it was almost all good to amazing. Chili Wontons: this dish is the best! better than my previous favorite place to get this dish, Din Tai Fung. The chilii wontons here have thin skin, perfectly seasoned filling and spicy sauce. it's just absolute perfection. Pork XLB: The skin thickness is perfect and you can see all the soupiness pooled in there. I usually don't enjoy this as much bc i think as a concept it's a bit one note, but I do think this place has one of the best XLB in the area. Smoked Duck (off official menu special) It's served lukewarm and it wasn't really much to eat in the restaurant but it makes the best leftovers and for some reason tastes so much better reheated. Scallion Pancake: tastes super thin and super homemade, very good! Shanghai Pork Wonton soup: my friend got this, i tried it, the flavors are a bit simple. there are better options. Shanghai Scallion oil noodles: the noodles were nice but the seasoning and flavors were not very umami or interesting. Sheng Jian Bao: husband's favorite dish. meat is seasoned well, perfectly cooked.
