Shareef's never fails me. In Baltimore on business, I looked up some of my local favs on Yelp and was reminded how close I was to Shareef's Grill. Excited, I instantly darted that way. Today, I got the Salmon wrap, and the Crab & Shrimp wrap. Both were delicious, I am more of a fan of the Salmon wrap, but man oh man, the star of the show were the rotisserie wings. These are BY FAR the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had and who knew?! I've been to Shareef's multiple times over the years and I'm disappointed in myself that it took this long. That'll never happen again, and the space and time that I take in between trips to Shareef's needs to narrow bc I've gotta have more. The facility is nothing to write home about, and the parking is atrocious. The service is nothing spectacular but it's not bad service either. I've been here a few times and their food is consistently good. Their rotisserie chicken wings are very flavorful and tender. They are some of the best I've ever had. The chicken wraps are also very very good. They are pretty decent size so, you'll get full pretty quickly. They have some type of cheese broccoli rice in it. I tried the catfish and got a good portion, but unfortunately they were very flavorful to me. They lacked salt and seasoning. Shareef's has always been one of my favorite carry-outs in Baltimore. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are always healthy and the service is fast and friendly. My go-to meal is practically any one of their platters which is served with your choice of meat on a bed of rice and vegetables and the sauce they cover the food in is so good! I recently tried the rotisserie wings and immediately fell in love, but they are a bit pricey compared to the wings you can get at other carry-outs. But the taste definitely cannot be matched! Now, I will admit that Shareef's location is lackluster. The parking is very small and on a hill which can really tear up the bottom of your car. Their actual building is very small as well, definitely not a place you want to stand in with others to place your order with covid possibly in the air. I remember when this place first opened, there was huge hype surrounding it. Because I'm not a fan of trying something when everyone is trying it, I waited a while to try it. And I must say, it was overhyped. This location is located on the corner of a busy road and there isn't plenty parking in the lot. It's small and not made to fit a lot of people. It isn't a glorious place so don't expect much decor, just yellow walls and a counter. So onto the food. The menu is sizable with plenty dishes that contain rice, veggies and a protein of your choosing. Not really exciting right? They have a "special" sauce(I'm pretty sure it's yum yum sauce) they put on the food and it seems that they put lots of it on your food and you don't taste any of the other flavors. I had the salmon and lump crabmeat platter. There was plenty food and they certainly aren't shy with giving you lots of crab and salmon. But with all the sauce you don't taste any of that. My wife loves their roasted wings but they didn't have any and I was told by the cashier that they sellout of them everyday around lunchtime. I'd think if it's a hot item they would have plenty of wings to feed the demand. I can say I was very pleased by their dessert. The chocolate chip cookies are amazing! I may just go pass there for the cookies only. The service is only through a window but they are always so nice and can hold a conversation. The food once ordered doesn't take much time to prepare. Now let's talk about the food!!! The taste of the food was good- I read many positive reviews to solicit ordering a salmon wrap to go. Interestingly, it was like a burrito with a mix of yellow rice, veggies (broccoli, bell peppers, onions) with a "secret sauce". But it was close to $11 including tax for what was a substantially small wrap that was NOT filling... I mean, it was maybe slightly longer than the length of my hand. There wasn't much salmon in the wrap either. The place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall with no seating, and looks a bit dingy inside.. There were two guys prepping the food, of which 1 came over to take orders at the front register. They took 10 minutes to make a simple wrap. Also, the menu inside on the TV display shows a cheaper price (by $1 or so) yet, they charged me more. I would have given 5 stars but I did not get to try what I wanted which were the rotisserie wings. My co-worker got them a week ago and said although they were baked, they were crispy like they were fried. What I did order I enjoyed immensely. I ended up getting the fried chicken wings with seasoned fries and broccoli. The chicken wings were huge and fried perfectly. The crispy yet flaky outer shell was amazing. The flavor of the wings were very good as well. I only wish I had arrived 45 minutes later and been able to try the rotisserie wings because they looked like heaven spinning in the oven. The seasoned fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and were not overly seasoned. they hit the spot. The broccoli was sliced thin and sauteed in butter and garlic sauce and man oh man I could have had a double helping of broccoli and been somewhat keto friendly LOL. I decided to pay this place a visit after hearing someone in passing speak it up which lead to me reading some of the reviews. Which all seemed positive. I made it my days mission to grab a platter (salmon). Like I said I was super excited based on what I read about this place...However once I got my platter I have to say I was utterly disappointed. I was looking for a high quality meal and simply got something that I could have made at home...the rice was not the best quality...couple pieces of salmon, this special sauce that everyone raved about simply taste like thousand island dressing, or mayo with ketchup and spices...I was also extremely upset about the fact that the dish was cold...salmon was warm but rice was cold as if it was made in the morning and just sitting around all day....I want to give them another shot, but I don't think I'd buy the salmon platter ever again. read more

This was my very first time and as far as the food ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! If I were local I'd be there atleast twice a week! I ordered the rotisserie wings with rice and Mac and cheese. I added the sweet potato cheese pie and it was very delicious, the sugar content was a bit much but very smooth in texture and the crust was well baked which was a big plus! The cashier wasn't very inviting but I paid him no attention because the rest of the crew was very nice and attentive! They were great! So with that being said i will be back soon. This review is for the Shareef's at W. Franklin St. Baltimore, MD. I wanted to make sure the others didn't get this bad review. Their customer service is garbage, especially if you order online/food apps. Today I ordered food for my staff at 11am, 2 salmon meals, and rotisserie chicken wings meal. left my office to assist someone with work and when i got back a few minutes later, they canceled the wings meal without any notice or a call because they were out of stock. Meaning my staff now does not have lunch to eat. Better restaurants have called to inform me and have even asked if I wanted to replace the order with something else. When i contacted them to try to fix the issue, the guy who answered the phone clearly doesn't know how those food apps work nor was he considerate and tried rushing me off the phone. After talking to a different staff about it, she informed me that they run out of wings often and she didn't understand why they never stock up since its a popular item on their menu. I'll give this place 4 stars! I always get the Shrimp, Crab and Chicken, Broccoli and Peppers meal and some homemade special sauce (for the past 3 years lol!) It's always delicious, at times a little salty but hey I'm not worried about my cholesterol just yet. The staff is...well...Baltimore attitude & not very friendly. Since it is a carry out spot, who cares? It's not like you have to deal with their negativity for too long. Oh and the mixed sugary drink is like that! So sweet and so unhealthy it's perfect! I visited Shareef's food truck and got greeted by one of the chefs on board and he was very nice! Tossed some suggestions my way since I love all food (seriously, I have a hard time choosing anything since I love everything.) I ordered the chicken platter and was told that it would be a 6 minute wait for it. Total came out to about $11.29 which is pretty normal for street food in Baltimore area (Gypsy Queen and Wilde Thyme are some of my other favorite food trucks.) The lovely people on board were super awesome and customer friendly. Since I haven't had their sauce before, they put some on my platter and gave me some on the side. Looks pretty good! Shareef's grill has great food and huge portions for amazing prices. If you like gyro, this may be for you. Their chicken is crazy popular and gets sold out in minutes for good reason. The only thing I did not like was the sauce which I will deff ask them to hold next time I order. Seafood here is good too and if you get the crab option they literally cover the entire top half of the container with chunks of crab meat, which I dont think anyone could complain about. I found out about this little gem watching the news and they were talking about the Black Restaurant challenge for the month of February. News channel 2 had a listing of black owned restaurants that were participating. Shareef's I decided would be my first stop on the list. What this place lacks in ambience they make up for in quality customer service, fresh and tasty food and affordable prices. Although there are a couple of tables inside and a small eating eating area outside I probably wouldn't advise you to plan on eating there. The space between the 2 tables and where the line forms is pretty tight. I was there at about 3:00pm and there was a nice crowd of people in line. I can only imagine what the dinner crowd looks like. Well anyway, I decided to get the shrimp wrap without the cheese. The wrap was absolutely delicious it had broccoli , rice,onions, and peppers in it and I requested their special sauce on the side. By the way, the special sauce should be packaged in a bottle because it's absolutely amazing!! The wrap itself was wheat soft and fresh. I also got the homemade chocolate chip cookies. They were soft on the inside with crisp edges. Absolutely fantastic!! In fact they have several different types of cookies, banana pudding and sweet potato cheese pie All homemade. I Heard several people ask while I was there for the rotisserie chicken, but they were out so it appears that this a very popular and probably delicious items as well.
