I thought no biggie, I will pop in and buy what he wanted and then leave. I know the LA Fitness in the Landing. It is impossible to miss. As I entered I was surprised that no one was at the reception desk. I figured since LA Fitness is a membership gym they would want to verify if someone has membership when entering but no one was there. Behind the circular desk there were a few other workstations. There was a gentleman at one of these computers who just silently stared at me as I wandered to find Emerald City Smoothie. He didn't move, smile, nothing. His eyes just followed me. Kinda feeling odd by this point I saw the Emerald City Smoothie to the left tucked in. You can't see it when stepping into the space and the one sign is on one wall eye level. But I guess they don't really need to advertise. One young woman was alone cranking out smoothies. She was diligent in her job treating her smoothies like someone on an assembly line. She spoke little and moved fast. There were a few people in front of me and each was served quickly with no commentary. Made me wonder if they should just install a kiosk where customers could put in their orders and she could just make them with no interaction. I left much as I entered, being stared at as I walked away. I don't think I will be back. It was weird.

There's also a grassy background where you can take photo ops of yourself and/or your drinks. Up at the front counter to the left-hand side of the entrance are two kiosks you can use to punch in the drinks you want. The menu is also up behind the counter as well. For this visit, I got their tiramisu milk tea with boba. The tiramisu foam ayer was large enough that when I stirred the whole drink in, I could taste the tiramisu's slight coffee-like, earthy hints throughout. The milk tea itself is very strong as I could taste the bitter undertones of the tea easily after just one sip. Also love how they put their drinks in a plastic container shaped like a can! As for their boba, I actually don't mind them being much smaller than many other boba places. They're both small and very chewable, and still look very good sinking to the bottom of the drink in case a photo op is needed. Regular size boba would take up too much space inside the can anyway. Overall drink was a tad too sweet though. This is one of the few places that come to mind for me when someone asks me what boba places there are around the Renton area, as I've gotten great drinks here for every visit since 2021. Always have a good smoothie or bowl when they're in. However, recently have been disappointed by the production of the staff. If something is ordered online and come to pick up at the time it says, nothing has been started and have to wait the same amount of time and would be faster if I just ordered in person. Recently have had the wrong drinks given, or smoothies blended to the consistency of juice and chunky. When asked to reblend been given an eye roll or told they can't since I took it in my hand. The quality of ingredients have always been great which is why I love this place. But to have these things happen during the "slower seasons" has been really annoying. This past visit kind of solidified that for me, as every person who came before and after were online orders and nothing had been started for everyone. Someone asked to order a coffee and they said they didn't want to make coffee yet and told them to go to the coffee shop down the street instead.
