I've been kind of obsessed with boba this last month, this is how I end up at ShareTea with my husband :-) Tons of options there! We chose the mango passion green tea with boba, we asked for 50% sugar. Still too sweet, way too sweet. Next time we'll go for 30% or even less. Apart from this, pretty nice bubble tea. You get a number for your order and even if there were like ten orders before ours, it finally went quite fast. We took ours at the movie and it was great. The movie theatre is right up, the garden is just steps away and there's also a big Target close so you have plenty of choices on how to enjoy your drink :p I'll go back to try their green tea with kiwi... You're one stop shop for the boba fix you've been a wanting all day. Come during off-hours so you're not waiting in line, which seems like any day during the week besides weekends. Sharetea has always been my go-to boba spot in SF because they have the Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea, which is a Caramel Truffle flavored milk tea that has the pearls in there, so no need for the 50cent add on charge when getting this oh-so-perfect milk tea. On the side of all the other hundreds of boba spots that have been popping up in the city like techies, it is the one spot I can always rely on for fast easy services with promising flavors. I've been to a lot of different share tea locations but this location always seem to have the longest wait time for your drinks and the drinks just don't taste the same as the other ones. The long lines may be due to the fact that it's based inside a food court area in a busy area. It's hard to find this location if you're just trying to google maps it. It's located on the left of target leading towards the food court! Also this location isn't one of those where you can sit inside the location per se to enjoy your drink however it's cute if you go outside to the Yerba Buena Gardens and chill there. However I like this location because it has the new drinks! Like the stardust and the shake bottles which is super cute! The special drinks are more pricey but if you want a cool photo I recommend it. read more

If you're looking for a good milk tea stop, Sharetea is pretty consistent. This particular one is located inside the Metreon, which makes it super convenient after some shopping around downtown or waiting for a movie to start upstairs. There's plenty of comfortable seating around the food stalls as well, so you can totally loiter and rest. All the drinks are around $5 and come in a large size. Like many shops, you can ask to adjust ice and sweetness. My go-to is the ginger milk tea (half sugar, with boba, no ice) which is the perfect sweetness for me. The hint of ginger is really refreshing and goes well with the creaminess of the drink. Came on a Sunday afternoon to a line, but it moves pretty quickly. The pearls themselves were cooked nicely, but stuck together a bit. Given the location and consistency, it is one of my favorite milk tea shops around Downtown. read more

After my last disappointing visit, I decided to give this place another try. Surprisingly this time my boba drink was great. Either last time must've been a one time flub or they made their drinks inconsistently, hopefully not the latter. This time I got a Classic Boba Milk Tea with no sugar. The drink was nice and refreshing. Many boba shops rely on sugar to make their drinks appeal to the customers and you could really tell if they make good drinks or not by asking for them to put no sugar in them, but Sharetea made my drink perfectly, as my sugar-free drink didn't taste watered down. Despite being zero sugar, it was creamy but at the same time I could taste the flavor of the tea. I also loved the consistency of the boba; it was chewy but not hard, and it tasted slightly sweet. Despite my various skirmishes in my Sharetea experiences such as getting charged for no ice unknowing for a year (their receipt only shows your order number), a deceiving promo (see my previous review), and their inflated prices that continue to climb alongside SF real estate (my plain fresh milk tea without any toppings is a whopping $5.25 now), Sharetea continues to be one of my staples in SF. Their quality is consistent, their menu has all the staples ranging from oreo milk tea to layered cremas to variations in boba pearls, and they never fail to throw in fun ideas to mix it up. I always love seeing their posters on their newest featured creation, and they have seasonal cups. Yes, you can even get your drink in a light bulb if you think that's a bright idea (haha... get it?!) As a bonus, they do participate in Fivestar (1 free drink per 12), but still, Sharetea is too expensive for me to share the tea and treat my friends on a regular basis. read more

Struggling to find good bubble tea in San Francisco, so in the meantime I've been having Sharetea. Drinks come in one size at about $5.50+. The tea is mediocre at best, but will satisfy your bubble tea craving. Sharetea is a chain originating from Taiwan. This one is located inside the Metreon, across from AMC ticketing. Gotta say, it's usually probably more within the range of 2.5 stars, but I'm writing about my 1 star experience today. I typically order the oolong milk tea with a brown sugar substitute (instead of fructose). I ordered the same drink today, cashier didn't say a thing out of the ordinary. When I received my drinks, I asked to confirm it was brown sugar. I was referred to a guy who looked at me and said that they never offer a sugar substitute for their drinks. I let him know that I've been to this same location multiple times and never had an issue. He just told me "I don't know who did that for you, but we don't change the recipe." End of convo. I'm also going to bring up the fact that the tapioca was horrid and overcooked. (Soggy, lack of texture.) Very disappointing experience. read more

3.5 stars Just like any other sharetea, decent boba place, with a plus for being convenient for movie goers and shoppers nearby. Milk tea and tapioca are good, but the fruit drinks were subpar. I got the Hawaiian Fruit Tea, which is a combination of pineapple, grapefruit, and another fruit I forgot. The juice itself was ok, even at 0% sugar it leaned on the sweet side. But the killer was that the ingredients used to make the fruit toppings in there --- the really dried out pineapples and grapefruit pulp --- it just made the entire drink taste like dry leather, and it was not a refreshing experience overall. If you're gonna try to stick cheap ingredients in there, stay safe with ingredients like cheap juice, rather than put dried out fruit that people can taste in their mouths longer. The counter located in the Metreon building across from the AMC is convenient enough and we ordered ahead making the wait time nil. I went with the strawberry black tea with boba with 0% sugar and it was still real sweet. I opted for the big balls (always!) and they weren't that big. I guess I like 'em real big and Sharetea just didn't live up. My friends ordered a green tea lemonade with the option with a real life half lemon in there chillin'. I prefer to stay in my naive bubble (get it?) and indulge my frequent afternoon cravings for this magical chewy, creamy, sweet beverage. According to a jet-setter friend who knows Asian bubble tea well, Sharetea is the real deal. I heard their boba are shipped in from Taiwan, which may explain the pricetag ($4-5 a pop). Very important to note: the "milk teas" are actually made with non-dairy creamer. The "fresh milk teas" are made with whole milk. You can customize your sweetness level, add ons, ice amount, etc, so it's easy to find a combo that's all too perfect for you. Mine is the fresh milk black tea with light ice and added boba. Mmmmm. Sharetea is good and dependable. It's a larger chain and they make pretty good boba. I usually get one of the milk teas, or possibly milk coffee with boba to fill that boba craving I get fortnightly. They have many options for levels of sweetness as well as ice which is great. Half sweet for most anything I get seems to bring the right balance of tea and sweet. But I know many people who think that even half sweet is too sweet. Their menu has a ton of options which is fun. I've really only ventured out once to get the family tea. It has a lot of stuff in it. More than I was ready for. I'll venture out again at some point. This one is located inside the Metreon, which makes it a perfect treat for taking into a movie. I've never had any trouble openly bringing in boba to the AMC upstairs. There's no need to hide it. read more

Meh. I've had better service and quality of Sharetea on Geary and in San Mateo. This sharetea is located inside the metreon plaza (plaza? Mall? food court? whatever!!). My bf and I came here to get drinks before watching a movie yesterday. Line went by fast, no complaints there. Unfortunately this Sharetea only has a limited selection of drinks... Didn't get my favorite peach green milk tea yesterday. :-( Instead I opted for mango passionfruit green tea with boba (light ice, normal sweet), and my bf got a peach GT with herb jelly (um... who gets herb jelly? LOL). Got our drinks in about 5 minutes, super quick. We opened them and from the first sip, my mango passionfruit GT was WAY too sweet!! I could barely taste the GT, and all I tasted was the sugary syrup..!! They definitely need to adjust their syrup pump amounts here! The bf's peach GT was okay. The herb jelly kinda overpowered the drink but that's his fault ha ha. The only commending thing about my drink was that the boba was ON POINT. So soft, and perfectly cooked! Also the drinks are overpriced here ($4.25 at the minimum, then you have to pay extra for toppings)!! I get that it's metreon and it's in the heart of downtown, but jeez D: The service here was also ehh... The lady at the front was not friendly or helpful whatsoever and looked like she hated her job. Not sure if this is solely from location or a price that is just the norm in SF. Nothing that makes this place stand out other than the convenient location. I don't know how I can give Sharetea a bad review because I love that all of their teas taste consistently the same! I first tried Sharetea when I was in Taipei visiting some friends and waiting around for them. Despite dropping my brand new iPhone 5 (at that time) and completely scuffing the crap out of it ... I still LOVED my Sharetea tea! I will say, between Taipei and US, the egg pudding is substantially different. I don't know if it is the availability of materials or ingredients but they just don't even taste the same and are completely different textures. Given this, I am surprised that the tea tastes very similar. It has that delicious umami yumminess that I'm used to when drinking pearl milk tea (boba) in Asia. Love it! read more

This place was difficult to find if you're not familiar with San Francisco. I went here with a friend and we got lost the first time. We finally found it and went in line. We waited for about 5 minutes until we got to the register to order our drinks. I played it safe and ordered the mango green tea, which and my usual, and I was not disappointed at all. I would say that this place had one of the best mango green tea with boba I've ever had and it's something I highly suggest getting. I was surprised that a decent boba place actually exists in the Financial District. Located inside the food court of the Metreon, Sharetea rightfully has a long line at all times. The long wait is totally worth it. They have sooo many tea options on the menu, and this decision-making process might slow down the line even further, but I appreciate the variety. I ordered honey milk tea with boba. The milk tea was thicker than I usually like my milk tea, but it was super filling... and the boba had just the right amount of sweetness. Everything on the menu sounds tasty, so I'll definitely be back for more, especially when I'm making a shopping trip to Target! And if you have time, go outside and enjoy the fresh air near Yerba Buena Gardens while you're drinking your beverage. So peaceful in the midst of all the shopping bustle. read more

Definitely not my favorite bubble tea place in the city - there are much better options for sure. The variety of drinks isn't super extensive, and I've found the prices here to be much higher than other, better quality boba places in the neighboring area. Sign up for the rewards program for some savings, but still, the prices are much higher than usual. The ingredients do seem pretty fresh (I believe they do use fresh tea and other ingredients instead of powder to make their teas), but the flavors and toppings are just so average. Nothing unique or out of the ordinary - bubbles, jelly, pudding. You can change sweetness and ice levels, but that's becoming pretty standard in all bubble tea places. I've tried the matcha milk tea with red bean, green milk tea, and the winter melon milk tea with ice cream. All three were good, but not spectacular. (I don't recommend adding ice cream to your drink though... it makes the drinks WAY too sweet). The matcha milk tea tasted a little powdery, but the green milk tea was pretty decent and tasted fresh with actual green tea flavor. Overall, nothing too special about Sharetea. If you don't have time to walk over to Chinatown, Sharetea will do, but I'd much rather prefer another place! read more

If you like boba, you'll love Sharetea! Since Sharetea came to the food court near our office a few months ago, at least 5% of my colleagues go on any given day (and likely closer to 15-20% on a Friday). I've contributed to many of those visits (especially before I imposed a new maximum on myself of two boba drinks each week!). A couple of my favorites are the passionfruit & mango and kiwi and I always order them with boba (tapioca balls). I also order these 0% sweet since they are naturally sweet. For around $5, you can expect a big drink (at least 20 ounces I'd guess) of pure Sharetea deliciousness! And you'll need to visit again to try a new flavor since there are at least 25 different flavors and more possible combinations if you start customizing! The wait times were long when they first ordered but they are now quite efficient with taking and preparing orders. If you have extra time, you can also enjoy your beverage in the pretty Yerba Buena park next door or shop in the Target store upstairs. Enjoy! read more

When I found out that this location was open on my day off, I just had to try it. Mistake. It was only open for 5 days, so I should have realized that there would be plenty of inexperienced people working here. When I went to order my mango green tea creama (regular sweetness), the ordering process was really fast. The line to receive drinks was really clustered. It took about 15-20 mins to get my drink and I had to ask for the creama knife. I took a sip of my drink and it was waaay to sweet! My other 2 friends, who also got creama were also too sweet. One even ordered less sweetness and it was too sweet. We even compared how much creama we recieved and I got a notably less amount in mine! I ended up drinking only half of my drink. I think what needs to be done here is that they need training from the other Sharetea location staff. The one on Geary, in particular, has really fast service. I understand that this new location is very busy, but it is no excuse for bad boba. I really like Sharetea, but this can ruin their rep. If I am in a bad mood the quickest way to cheer me up is sharetea, boy problems sharetea, friend problems sharetea, any problem sharetea. I was sort of skeptical at first because there was a fairly large amount of people waiting in line and for their drinks, but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. SERVICE: line moved fairly quickly. They seemed somewhat understaffed in the back since there were times when the line of people would be super long. But there were 2-3 people standing behind the girl at the register just looking around.... Got our drinks in good time though. DRINKS: + coffee milk tea: I asked for it to be unsweetened, and it was still pretty sweet! I loved the coffee flavor though - it was a good way to get my caffeine and milk tea fix in one. I added ice jelly (FREE with check-in!) and it had a good flavor and squishy texture. It was chewy but not as much as aloe. ~ QQ happy family milk tea: not sure how I feel about this one... It's basically milk tea with A TON of diff toppings added. It sounds good until you realize you have the textures of soft pudding, chewy boba and jelly, AND mushy red bean all in one mouthful. Didn't have a chance to update my review from my last visit which was on Monday. They have new drinks!!! Well, not that new. Guess it was released for awhile already. Just I haven't been in the bay for a month since the last time I visit and forget to check in. I order their new drinks. Mango smoothie and strawberry smoothie with whipping cream is added in. If you're lactose intolerant I wouldn't recommend this drink because the whole purpose of this drink is the shipping cream. You also get it in a cute reusable bottle and I heard Metreon is the only one that carries it in SF base on another yelp review I've seen. The mango smoothie is so delicious! They were out of minis' it didn't matter to me cause I like the regular size. Pearls is soft and chewy. Good texture. They are always consistent with their pearls. I also got the butterfly pea lemonade. Which look pretty cool! Purple and pink together. I didn't try the drink though. My son wanted it so I end up giving it to him. The strawberry smoothie I saved it for tomorrow. Yes, you heard it right. I save it. Sadly, I got jacked for it the next morning (thanks to my lil bro) stole my drink without even asking! I was pissed off. I was planning to buy more tontake back to Sac on Wed. Morning but hubs came super early to pick us up. Didn't have a chance to go. However, I only know this Sharetea branch, so I don't know other Sharetea branches. This place is good when you go to movie theater or enjoy Yerba Buena Park outside. My favorite is black milk tea with bubbles, and 50% less sugar. If you choose 100% sugar, it's too sweet (it depends on person's preference though). I love sharetea! It's one of my favorite boba joints in the city and all around the bay area. I was actually really surprised one opened in the Metreon food court. I always passed by occasionally when I don't crave it, but I finally made the point to order a couple of drinks here this past weekend on a nice, sunny day. On a Sunday during Pistahan, the line for Sharetea was pretty long! They have the same options of milk teas, cremas, fruit teas and hot drinks here as the location on Geary. My boyfriend and I stuck with their fruit teas; me with passionfruit & mango with lychee jelly and him with mango, grapefruit and passionfruit with ai-yu jelly. Both were really good and just the drinks to quench our thirst! Service is pretty fast here as I'm sure the workers know they are in an area with a high volume of people traffic. Drinks are roughly $4-$5 which is slightly steep but I like the quality. read more

Recommendation: A little on the expensive side of bubble tea but lots of unique flavors and definitely high quality ingredients. I'd go again soon! Tip: Specials of the day are on the blackboard on the counter. Tip: Many drinks have pictures on the front wall of the counter. We went here today because there aren't too many bubble tea places near the Westfield Mall. It was definitely worth it! I got the Strawberry Black Tea with pearls (the tea was a special today and marked down to $3.50 instead of the usual $4.20. Keep an eye out for the little blackboard on the counter!) and my friend got the Okinawa Tea with Brown Sugar and pearls. After standing in line for a minute or two, the drinks were ready in about 5 minutes and the ordering process was very simple. We were given a receipt with a number and when our order was ready the number was called out. We grabbed straws and were on our way! Each of the teas were extremely good. The Strawberry Black Tea might have had a little too much sugar, but was still quite enjoyable. The Okinawa Brown Sugar Green Tea was also a delicious beverage, with all the little flavor elements still present in each sip. In terms of boba/liquid ratio, both of us finished our drinks with a good amount of boba left over, and surprisingly there was a lot of ice left as well. This was great because I know next time I go I can really go nuts on trying to suck up the pearls. Or maybe I'll try one with the ice jelly! Not sure. Anyway, I was definitely a fan of the quality of the drinks, as well as the speed and quality of the service! I am officially old. Last Friday I came here, I got the ginger milk tea with herb jelly. When I was a kid, my dad loved herb jelly and I thought it was disgusting. Why would anyone want to eat something so disgusting?? Herby tasting jelly?? EWWW? Why wouldn't you just want to eat strawberry jelly or orange jelly? Why herb jelly? And ginger?? YUCK! My mom would would spoon me some steamed fish and spoon some ginger with soy sauce over it, and I would push off the ginger to the side. EWW ginger! My mom would eat ginger candy, and I would go... I was BEYOND ecstatic when I found out that a Sharetea was opening in the Metreon. I've had boba milk tea from this chain from all over the bay area and so far their drinks have been pretty consistent for me. Because of this, Sharetea is one of my favorite boba brands in Northern California :) I am a huge fan of the classic green milk tea with boba, and Sharetea does this drink justice. Located very conveniently inside the Metreon (across from the AMC movie ticket counters & Inay filipino food), Sharetea makes boba easily accessible to everyone in my office. I came here tooo often when they first opened earlier this year. The lines can get long during lunch & dinner hours, but the workers there are pretty quick. I also love that you can choose your level of sweetness at Sharetea -I always try to go for the 80% to bring out more of the tea flavor and make it less sweet. 50% is great if you want to appreciate more of the tea flavor. I've tried their fruit, non-milk flavored teas (peach green milk tea or mango green milk tea) and those are also delicious and refreshing. Lastly, sign up for a five star rewards account. My to go place for Boba Milk Tea is Quickly but I saw this place and said " ehh why not". My fiancé and I wanted to check out Metreon and lay by the picnic area so we decided to have an iced drink and this was located in the food court. I was looking at the menu options and they have so many that it was hard to make up my mind so I went with the classic and got the original with black tea and my fiancé ordered the Taro Milk Tea. My fiancé really liked his but he's not big on Boba Tea. They were both tasty but I couldn't finish it because it was too sweet. Usually my milk tea is not as half as sweet as the one I got from here. If you don't like your Milk Tea to be very sweet then this place is not for you!!! read more
