My friend took me here after class and the first thing I thought when we were around the area was how cramped/bad the parking is. It's quite small inside too, but they work quick so you don't have to stay in there for too long. Their menu didn't have that many choices and I got the Hokkaido milk tea with small pearls. It came out within two minutes, maybe because we were the only ones in the store at that time, but either way it was still quick! Drove 30 minutes just to see if this is really Taipei's #1 milktea (I'm originally from Taiwan.) I must say, thanks to my boyfriend, who is expert on ordering the right drink, I really enjoyed my drink! We got one of the ones with whipped cream on top and bottom of the drink was slightly salty. Got the iced Oolong crema because a lot of people recommended it and I have to admit it was better than Gong Cha! My boyfriend ordered the Hokkaido, thinking that it would taste like the sweet caramely one at Thirst Tea, but oh god it was nasty! It tasted like it had coconut. This is the third ShareTea place that I have visited in my life: the other one was in San Mateo, and the other was in the island of Boracay, Philippines. The one in the Philippines was the best because they have the most selection of pearl tea, and the one in San Mateo mimics that place a lot. This on here in Hostetter Road needs a lot more work to do. I know, I know, they just opened, but just stating my opinion that this is the least favorable of the three. The taste is just not the same, although I always get the cocoa crema. See the one in the Philippines had the sea salt cocoa crema, and the taste was just foodgasm! I usually get black milk tea here & it's pretty good. My only complaint is when they have a few people in line and only one person on register taking orders and last time I was in, I had to wait extra long bc the person making the drinks kept messing up on someone's order so they had to keep remaking it. Just no. There tea taste watered down and not like normal tea spots where you can taste the flavor of the tea. They might have used lipton black tea for grass jelly milk tea. I was so disappointed. Compared to the likes of I-Tea, etc that are a few miles more out of the way, I would make the trek no complaints. The service was quick but the dude who rang me up was unhelpful. I asked them about their specials, apparently you get a discount if you use five star or something... no explanation no nothing. After i asked him for said special and he asked about five star or something (i assume that's what he said because he was mumbling) and i responded no, he said forget it, and continued to ring me up for the normal price. Granted it was like a discount of 50 cents or something, but he could have offered to explain...Whatever.... i won't be back anyway.... for convenience factor, for those who live in the neighbor, i can see why they are busy. Ordered the fruit tea today and found the straw was made of paper. It was very tough to puncture and It took me like 4-5 shots to finally got it in and found the straw was already decomposing/ melting, not able to drink up the boba at all. Always been a fan of Sharetea. Only been to the one in San Mateo until they opened this one recently. So many new boba places in the area. Before it was just Bambu but now there's Jastea, Gong Cha and now Sharetea in the North Valley. So hard to choose which place to go to and all my money is going go boba no joke. Everytime I come here there's a long ass line and you know what that means, a long ass wait for the drink. One time the wait was 20-30 minutes. Overall I like the drinks. My husband really likes Sharetea he said cuz of consistency. They have the 5 Star Rewards program here. They have a bathroom here as well. Tables and chairs inside and outside so you can chill with your friends. Good drinks but probably the most expensive boba place. We usually order 4 drinks and it's always close to $18!!! And I don't even get toppings with all my drinks lol. Overall I like this Sharetea and their variety of drinks. Their menu ain't that big so you won't feel overwhelmed. It is only THIS particular location because all other Sharetea (Cottle Road and Valley Fair locations) the drinks taste good. I ordered the Okinawa milk tea and it tastes different every time. Ugh what a disappointment!! No excuses since grand opening is over! I thought this place would be like the one I tried in SF, which was actually good. I think this place is pretty expensive. Got a regular size green tea creama with boba and it was like 5 bucks!!! And what made it worse was like my drink tasted like the nutritional shake Ensure. I hate that taste and wanted to throw up my drink. I remembered the SF place letting you choose ice and sweetness level like gong cha but this place didn't! Then we looked at the business card and it gives you that option!! Thanks a lot cashier! We attempted to try this place about a week earlier for the BOGO event but was told the wait would be 1 HOUR! I've been looking forward to coming here and trying their milk tea for the first time but already walking in, I was already disappointed. Two girls were already mugging me and whispering to one another as if they were talking crap, it was so obvious. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and just stay positive but as I ordered, the two girls were just standing behind the cashier acting all tough. They made it very overwhelming. I don't know if it had to do with the fact that I was wearing another tea/boba shops shirt but they could be a little bit more professional. Although I work at a different tea shop, im just like any other regular customer at sharetea. These girls are your first line of defense, they represent your business. Please have better judgment when hiring because they're scaring all your costumers away. So one star for their bad service read more

I've been to the San Mateo location and i really enjoyed it. I was stoked to see a location open literally 5 minutes away from me! I went to the soft opening and drinks were a 40 minute wait because workers are still being trained. I ordered a classic milk tea and it came out really good. I came back again 3 weeks later and ordered a peach black tea which was also really good! The workers here really take their time to measure out everything for each drink, which is why i can see how customers can get impatient. People need to understand that this place is still fairly new in terms of workers, so drinks are going to take a little longer. Im sure they will improve in the future so be patient guys!!! I've now given the boba here multiple tries, and the drinks have ranged from great to gross. Having been to the San Mateo location before (and really liking it), I had some high expectations. Unfortunately, I've found that the drinks here are extremely sweet; furthermore, I have gotten undercooked, hard-in-the-middle pearls several times. However, if you adjust the drinks for sweetness accordingly (I get 30% or even 0%) and come on a day where the pearls are made well, the drinks will be up to par with those from other Shareteas. Hopefully, the consistency of the store will improve, but as of now, the boba is pretty hit-or-miss. Parking is plentiful, and the wait is relatively short, unless you come at a super busy time. read more

I've been to sharetea a few times, I've gotten the mango fruit tea and taro milk tea with boba. Drinks are rather expensive as opposed to other tea shops. It seems like they use quality ingredients, but something about the flavor is lacking (imo)? The mango fruit tea was sweet and had bits of mango in it. I wasn't a fan of the taro - i dont know why but it tastes like how a vape smells.. but not in a good way.. the texture was grainy as well. I've tried my friend's coffee milk tea with boba, and that was pretty good though. All in all, I'd only come here again if it was my only option. But I feel like other tea places offer better-tasting drinks at better pricepoints. read more

Definitely not my favorite. I love grass jelly, and they don't have it here. They had herbal jelly, which I guess is a comparable substitute? Anyway, I came with my brother and a friend, and we ordered three different drinks. We ordered the passionfruit tea with lychee, green milk tea with creama, and fresh milk with herbal jelly, which was recommended to me by the cashier. I asked her what she recommended that was or was similiar to grass jelly, and that's what she told me. The passionfruit tea was by far the best one, it had a strong passionfruit flavor, but you could still taste the tea. The lychee jelly was all right. The green milk tea was weird and had a very bitter flavor, even though it was pretty sweet. The fresh milk with herbal jelly was not good. The drink had an overall weird taste kind of similar to an Asian herbal shop with sweet powdered milk. I know it's probably fresh ingredients, but it just tasted funny! I usually always finish my drink, but I couldn't even drink the whole thing! So crazy. I don't know if I'll be coming back. I miss Bar Code, which used to be in the same location! By the way, the decor here is lacking. Bar Code used to be so cute here, and this place remodeled it to look worse? Sigh. I'm actually not quite sure if I want to go back to this place for milk tea. I mean, I have been to other places that I feel is better than ShareTea. My first time going was on my birthday, 12/5/2014. That was the last day for 1 free topping if you check-in on your smartphone. Yes, I did that and got free topping. I was lucky that the line and wait was not long, and I received my drinks in about 10 minutes. However, the female cashier must be new working here. She took a long time with our order. I said I wanted Wintermelon Crema, but she said Wintermelon Lemon Juice something like that. She also didn't know where to find the crema category on the ipad and had to ask another coworker for help. That took long for the order. When I got my drinks, I noticed that the pearls were stuck together at the bottom. You can't suck it up through your straw. I don't like that. Also, I just realized that ShareTea comes in only ONE size = large. The crema category is popular and costs $3.99 without pearls. Somehow, I felt this place sells milk tea a little expensive and only comes in one size. There isn't a regular/small size. I can't finish a large size. I don't feel it has the best milk tea ever. It's decent. My best milk tea cafes are Tea Papa, Snowflake/Snocrave, and T4. These are all in Fremont. I think the more milk tea flavors there are, the more options I get to try and I am more likely to get it, but the problem is that there places are too far for me. However, recently their bubble tea has been too much powdery, which dries my throat. Their boba has been always good but not the tea. Also, their bathroom is the worst. For one time, I had to wash my hands but someone was there. So I waited and the one of the worker comes out and goes back to her work. However, seriously, you guys should have the bathroom refresher because it was disgustingly smelly that I couldn't go in. Even though some people think the bathroom should not be taken care of, but the business should. I would never go in there again. The service is really good though = The 1 Star. Pretty bad experience here. Came here with my friend, ordered our drinks ( BMT with pearls and a hot Okinawa pearl MT), we were number 85 and they were on 68. Already a bad start. Sit down for about 20 mins waiting. They finally get to number 83 and me and my friend get to up to be ready for our drinks. As we pass the counter, they ask me if I'm #83 and I say "No, I'm 85." Then they look around for my order and realize that they don't have a ticket for 85. They ask me what my order was so I had to repeat it multiple times as they continued to look for the receipt. Then, I have another friend come in that just received her drink asking for a replacement because she found a hair in it. They make her a new one. Then they finally make our drinks and they apologize. Idk, I guess I was waiting for a reimbursement of some kind but I guess it's okay. I understand this place is brand new, but how hard is it to keep your orders straight? I guess they're still getting used to things and will eventually get it right.
