It was a quick stop and I didn't even know they opened a CoCo Fresh Tea and Juice spot here. This is a very tiny spot with self service kiosk. Staffs are very nice people. Clean inside. I usually come here for a Dunkin Donuts stop. Parking lot actually had available parking spots after 12 noon Friday. Nice. CoCo is running the BOGO-Buy One Get One Free promotion here, so buying any one drink and getting a second one of your choice free is a great deal that shouldn't be missed. I had the lemon tea with jelly and ordered the favorite mango pomelo sago beverage to go. As usual, drinks are good. Quick and convenient in and out. Since I was ordering some food a few doors down, I decided to grab a drink while I waited. I went with the Sago Taro Milk Tea w/ added pudding & pearls. The drink was good. Not overly sweet and the sago was delish. Pearls weren't anything great and I wished I had saved my money in making that additional add on but the pudding was enjoyed. 3 stars. I've tried their Pearl Milk Tea, 3 Guys Milk Tea, Mango Slush, and Mango Pomelo Sago Smoothie with my favorite being their Mango Pomelo Sago Smoothie and their 3 Guys Milk Tea. You can choose various levels of sweetness and temperature including warm and hot. Ambiance is casual. There are two tables for seating and you can order via their one kiosk or at the cashier. I used to get CoCo Fresh Tea and Juice fairly often when I lived close to a location over a decade ago, and have visited various locations since then. Was in the Valley Fair area briefly and wanted some milk tea, so I ordered some for myself and the family. I got my kids Thai Tea, and they both said it tasted pretty good, but the powder would sink to the bottom from time to time so they'd be stirring their drink more often than usual with the straw. A bit of clumps here and there, but overall the flavor was pretty good. The husband tried the brown sugar jasmine pearl milk tea and he said it tasted fine. That drink looked really good in comparison to semi separated Thai Tea. I wished I got a fruit tea instead since I really like CoCo's grapefruit tea, but I got their milk tea with grass jelly at a low level of sweetness. There was no option to adjust the Thai Tea sweetness, and we got the Jasmine Brown Sugar one as default sweetness, but somehow my milk tea was sweeter than all of those? WILD! Did not feel great a third way through the drink that I couldn't even finish it without feeling I'm going to pass out or something. Instead of 30%, did they do 300% or something? I was in the area and thought I'll get a drink from here since it was going to open in 15 min. I walked in around 12:05pm and placed my order through the stand alone kiosk. I ordered pearl milk tea for my son (half sugar, half ice) and sago taro milk tea (add boba, half sugar, half ice). After I had paid, the employee tells me that the boba isn't ready until 30 minutes later). Since I already paid, I told him that I'll just wait. Well, I didn't get the drinks until roughly 12:40pm. The taro milk tea had this lavender color and no real taro inside (most likely made from syrup) and the boba was too chewy with no sweetness. Even with 50% sweetness level, it was still too sweet. As for my son's pearl milk tea, you can definitely taste the tea flavor but there was still unmelted/unmixed brown sugar on the bottle of the cup. In my opinion, if the store opens at 12pm, I'm expecting everything on the menu to be prepped and available by 12pm. At least the minimum they can do is to put up a sign to let the customer know that something isn't available yet. read more

I always see this place when I'm shopping at Safeway. I saw on their socials that they were doing a BOGO deal on Tuesdays. So I stopped in around lunch. The staff member warned me and one other person in there that they were out of a few things, including boba. They have one kiosk for ordering available, I didn't see the BOGO deal on the kiosk so I had to ask the staff member. They even had a sign about the BOGO deal - for their iced peach tea - on the counter. I asked about it. But the staff member pivoted and mentioned they had a new promo - 2 drinks for $8 and it's not limited to just the iced peach tea. Then he even said it's the same price. I questioned this and he looked again and finally admitted the BOGO deal slightly cheaper He tried to talk me into something else. I stated multiple times that I just wanted to do the BOGO deal and wanted two iced peach teas. I paid and got my receipt and realized he charged me $8 for two drinks. WTF. I didn't want to make a big deal about this. Because I already tried stating firmly, when ordering, what I wanted and I can't believe it wasn't clear. Got my drinks and high tailed it out of there. They did mention that though it said 0% sugar, the peach puree was pretty sweet. He was right, it was very sweet and balanced out by the 0% sugar. But when I ordered he did ask what sugar level I wanted. It would've been nice if he mentioned the sweetness before and recommended the 0% sugar instead of just springing it on me when I picked up the drinks. As for the drink - I liked it - the peach was sweet - the 0% sugar works with it. It was super refreshing and I would get this again. Grapefruit Yakult - I got 70% sweetness and less ice. I love how the ice is in smaller chunks and the texture of grapefruit pulp. It was still too sweet so maybe 50% would've been perfect. I had CoCo a few times in SoCal and NY, but this is my first time having it in the Bay Area. The interior is quite small. Definitely not enough seating for a party or anyone who is looking for a study sesh. My drink came out quick because there was no one in line, but also it was the most basic Jasmine milk tea paired with grass jelly. Funny enough.. I could taste the fresh leafy aroma. The grass jelly was standard. I guess I do appreciate milk teas that are more on the creamier side if that makes any sense. It's not the greatest boba in the world, but pretty decent than most boba shops (Quickly, TapEx, etc.). I will still have it once in a while if I happen to be in the area. read more

I don't know if it was because the bobarista was still in training but one person was making the drinks while the other person just sat on the counter and chatted with them. This just opened two doors down of Somisomi. We went to their soft opening on Sunday @ 7pm and it wasn't too busy which is nice. This was the first I heard of them. I wish they had the full menu on the TV screens instead of piece of papers right at the cashier. Also the tvs had the recommended drinks, but the first one kept changing intermittently between drinks 1-10 which threw me off because the 2nd screen was a still slide of drinks 6-10. I was really excited to try Coco because it was a notable boba franchise. This is tucked in a plaza across from the San Jose Flea market and in between the newly built apartment buildings. I tried this restaurant on the first day of its soft opening. There is a wide variety of menu options but not that many non-caffeinated options. I ordered a jasmine milk tea with egg pudding with half sugar and less ice. The flavors of both the jasmine milk tea and the egg pudding were sweet, strong, and tasty. I enjoyed the consistency of the milk tea - it was the right amount of creamy. I was a bit disappointed with the egg pudding. It was a bit hard to my liking, and I usually enjoy a slightly softer and silkier texture. The service was good and the baristas were diligently making drinks, taking orders, and making sure the customers were being attended to and welcomed upon entering. There was a large influx of orders (I presume because this was a soft opening phase), but the baristas were handling them very well. This is more of a grab and go place. It has a clean interior but it is small inside, with only two tables. The plaza its located in is not that busy and still has many spots for lease, so there is plentiful parking in the lot. I went to Shihlin Snacks and wanted to check out Coco next door. I immediately saw their sign for BOGO Wednesday/Thursdays and that drew me in. Unfortunately there's a catch. It only applies to their Pearl MT and Tropical Drink. I asked the cashier if I could get one of each, would the deal still apply. She kindly said yes, but informed me they just ran out of Boba/pearls. This close to around 6:55pm. I replaced the boba for pudding in my Pearl MT and boba in my tropical for Crystal Pearl. I usually ask 75% sweet and less ice for drinks. I got my drinks within 5-6 minutes. Already looking at the drink, it looked water down. Anyways, took a sip & it literally tastes like watered down milk with a hint of tea. Pudding was ok, can't complain. I stopped by here on a Thursday and apparently in bay area CoCos they have a promotion of bogo free. Not sure how long this promo lasts but it was nice getting 2 drinks for the price of 1! There's plenty of parking outside the store and the interior is pretty small, but it's bright and clean inside. I probably arrived during a post-work rush and there was a line of about 5 people. Unfortunately when I was there, they didn't have boba, brown sugar drinks, or slushys. I ordered the tropical special 50% sugar and got crystal boba instead of tapioca pearls. The drink was a little too sweet but I like the flavor and how refreshing it was. My boyfriend ordered their regular milk tea which I feel like it had a subtle chocolate flavor to it.
