This place is definitely a must due for food. Everyone on the staff is so friendly and helpful . I went with the platter, cause I wanted to taste of variety of seafood . Everything was spot on everything was delicious. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this food here.. I just wish I had more time to eat more food from this place . Definitely recommend this place

We were looking for a dog friendly place and oh boy they are dog friendly! I like to try all the clam chowder every time. I'm on a coastal town and shark bites did not disappoint. Super friendly family business so kids definitely welcome. My sister got the fish tacos. I gotta say that the fried fish inside the tacos was probably the best , I took a little bite of it. There was no grease and super crispy. their homemade margarita with fresh squeeze. Juices !!!great.!!!!My sister got a Moscow mule and it was good. I got some oysters that were fried and they were good and I got a bean dip chips and salsa, which was also excellent! Super chill inside kind of a beach vibe

Stopped in for a family snack/meal. We were very happy with our decision. The service was great, laid back atmosphere, and the food was fantastic. My wife and I got the fish tacos from the specials menu, the blackened and spicy. Both were so good! Great spot in Coos Bay!

We had a great meal here at SharkBites. The food was fresh and tasted great. We had the fish tacos, chicken tacos and shrimp cocktail. All of it was very good and if we lived in the area this would be a regular spot for us. Service was excellent and all the staff was very friendly.

We stopped by shark bites on our way down the coast. There were lots of different seafood options and the staff were vey friendly. The nice thing about this restaurant was that the creamy clam chowder was gluten free. It was very good, and still had a thickness to it. For our main food we ordered tacos and fish and chips. The fries were really good, and the fish was very crispy but didn't have much flavor. My husband enjoyed his tacos and beans on the side.

First time here & was slightly surprised that after you walk through a small souvenir section, you place your order at the counter & then walk to a table. Kinda like a fast food restaurant. It was a bit busy & we had to wait a few minutes to place our orders. We sat at a window booth overlooking Broadway & watched the traffic as we waited. We had both ordered the crab cake burger, a Dungeness crab cake with fresh dill, sautéed onions, avocado, tomato & lettuce. It comes out on a soft Kaiser roll with tartar sauce. However, ours was pretty dry. If it had tartar sauce, it could've used more. Still, it was tasty. The fries had a crispy texture with a fluffy inside & just enough salt to be flavorful but not overwhelming. A small side of Cole slaw came with the meals: I'm not a fan. It was just meh at best. I thought it was dry & bland. The Mrs got a Bloody Mary that she said was good but not what the menu said it would be. The menu calls for blue cheese stuffed olives & hers had the pimento olives. Overall, we did enjoy our meal here, but there is room for improvement.

Lunch at Shark Bites seems popular.

Port Orford is the kind of town Highway 101 wants you to blow through -- a working fishing port…read morewedged between Humbug Mountain and Cape Blanco, crab pots stacked on the docks, wind coming off the Pacific like it has a personal grievance. It's the westernmost incorporated city in the contiguous United States, a fact I learned later and which explains a lot about the wind. And in the middle of it, in a little building that isn't trying to impress anyone, is The Crazy Norwegians, which serves some of the best fish and chips I've had anywhere on the coast -- either coast. The fish is local -- rockfish or ling cod, depending on what's coming in -- and lightly breaded, which is the correct call and a rarer one than it should be. Most fish and chips operations treat the batter as the point, a thick golden armor that could be encasing anything, cod or halibut or a rolled-up sock, you'd never know. The Crazy Norwegians treats the fish as the point. The light breading crisps and steps aside, and what you taste is the fish itself, fresh in the way that only makes sense when the boats are visible from town. The chips were excellent -- actual good fries, not an afterthought, which completes the contract that most places only half honor. One more thing. Someone on Yelp raved about the tartar sauce, and I rolled my eyes, because raving about tartar sauce is the kind of thing people do when they've run out of real things to say. Then I tasted the tartar sauce and felt like an asshole. It's house-made, it's bright, it actually tastes like something instead of functioning as white condiment paste, and I ate all of it. I apologize to the Yelp reviewer. You were right. I was wrong. This is your moment. Then there were the fish tacos. Two for sixteen dollars, each one served in a fried corn tortilla, and each one -- I want to be precise here, because I have eaten thousands of fish tacos in my life, from San Felipe carts to Ensenada stands to every strip mall mariscos operation in Southern California, and I consider myself something of a scholar of the form -- each one was two to three times the size of the largest fish taco I have ever eaten. These are not tacos. These are naval vessels. And the crazy thing is they're still good -- the size doesn't come at the expense of the execution, which is usually the trade. Big and sloppy is easy. Big and excellent is rare. The people are genuinely lovely -- the kind of small-town friendly that isn't performed for tourists because there aren't enough tourists to perform for. The patio is dog-friendly and, critically, sheltered enough from the wind that you can actually enjoy it, which on this stretch of coast is not a given. Our dogs lounged. We feasted. The wind howled at somebody else. If you're doing the 101 -- and you should do the 101, the southern Oregon coast is the best-kept secret in West Coast road-tripping -- Port Orford is worth the stop, and The Crazy Norwegians is the reason. Slow down. The next lighthouse can wait.

I ordered everything for pick up and when I got to my moms home which.. port Orford is 2 whole miles wide, so I took me about 3 whole minutes, I realized they did not poke any holes in the box the shrimp was in and all of the battered shrimp was soggy and disgusting. The fish tacos, same, soggy mushy falling apart and disgusting. The fish itself was soggy and not crispy. The tortilla was all the way disintegrating at this point and upon picking the taco up the entirety of it fell out the hitting when the tortilla completely fell apart. $60+ of food. What the fuck. You'd think when you pride yourself as a seafood place and offer food to go, you'd understand how to properly package the food so it withholds a 3 minute drive home. It makes me realize it would've been NO different had I eaten there. Do not waste your money on this hole in the wall "seafood" place that claims shrimp cocktail is battered fried shrimp with fries. FYI; shrimp cocktail is steamed or boiled, not battered and fried, and served with cocktail sauce and a wedge of lemon. Also they claim to have salads.. but when trying to order a salad, sorry.. no salads. Lmfao. Also, anyone that claims this is the best fish and chips spot on the coast, or in California, or in Oregon. You live in the butt fuck of nowhere in port Orford with 3 restaurants, respectfully, you don't know what the best fish and chips are. E

On a positive note we loved the setting, great vibe and wonderful service. We also had great cocktails, the Veneto was amazing. However, when the appetizers came out we were so very disappointed. We had the meatballs and fried burrata. It at first looked like the meatballs had this odd coating on it. But it was just that they were so overcooked and burnt. You literally needed a knife to cut them open and once open they were so dry I couldn't eat anymore. So I was hopeful that the fried burrata would be better. However, it was also over cooked on the outside. But once past the coating the burrata and bread was very good. Our main course came next. We both had the lasagna which came with a small salad that was very light and tasty. The pasta sauce was excellent and full of meat and the portions were very large. Lastly we had dessert and it was the star of the meal. We had a lemon pastry/cake that was delightful. Overall, we were disappointed with the appetizers. But the entrees were very good and dessert was just delightful. We will return to give it another go and hope that our first experience with the appetizers was just a one-off.

A little pricey for a sandwich, but worth it. The sandwich was packed to the brim with fresh crab and shrimp. You have the option of coleslaw or fries. I chose the fries which were fresh and flavorful with a nice crunch. The sandwich was extremely filling and can easily be split between 2 people. The batter had interesting seasoning that was a bit on the sweet side but overall tasty. Six big nuggets of fish. I forgot to get a picture right away but pulled two out. Lots of fries. Under seasoned but for health reasons of various people that is understandable. Coleslaw was not bad, had dried cranberries which was different. Not bad but not life changing. Overall a good meal.
