I really love this place my son has gotten his hair cut 3xs. Our favorite stylist is kelsey she's very gentel and sweet to my son and work well with all the moving he does. The facility is nice they have several cars and trucks to choose from for kids to sit in, they give out ballon's and lollipops and even water. My husband got his hair cut here once as well while my son did his and he had no complaints. My only gripe is that this place can get crowded i'd avoid weekends if you can. I love going in the mornings when they first open and everything is the calm and the cleanest. Their website booking system is great and i've done it on the day of and still was able to get an appointment. 5 stars from this happy mama. read more

Took my son for his first hair cut. It took me MONTHS to make a review because I was in disbelief. He's my only child and I've never done a first hair cut appointment - plus I feel like I'm an easy person that goes with the flow. Everything was great during the cut. They put on his favorite TV show and gave him toys to play with. I was happy with how it looked at the end. However, I was unaware that his hair HAD to be slicked back like that - I uploaded during the haircut, right after for a photo, and right after a store 10 mins later (you can tell it's all the same day because he's wearing the same outfit). When I noticed that his hair to be slicked back that or the top of his head was complete butchered - I was really upset. I'm not one to go back to the place and complain.. and I know his hair will eventually grow back. I just wanted to let others know my experience. read more

Brought my son here for his 1st haircut. Kelsey was the stylist.. she did a good job with the haircut. Why I like it: -They offer free balloons and candy to kids! From the first haircut at 4 to now, my son has felt very comfortable here. He is very shy and definitely isn't the most still, but every stylist has been very careful and patient with him. We just went and had Tara give him a clean-cut, 90s Leonardo DiCaprio, long hair part in the middle look, and it turned out great! I let her know of my concerns for the back and to avoid short layers so the hair would lay flat and she did an amazing job, all while he is trying to play a video game and bobbing his head constantly. We got a toy, some glitter hair spray for myself, a balloon, and my kid and I left happy. They are a bit short-staffed at times, but the stylists work hard, and it shows. I'm not looking forward to my son getting too old for this place, so I'll just continue to savor each appointment and his great appreciation for balloons because I know that won't last forever. Went ton sharkeys for the first time for my 4 year old. We normally cut his hair at home but as his hair has grown, we haven't had the greatest outcomes haha. Also, he isn't fond of hair cuts, BUT Nick cut his hair tonight and was so calm and kind. My son managed to sit quietly without much complained. Not only did Nick did a great cut, he was so helpful in explaining how to continue cutting his hair at home. He taught us how to hold the scissors and provided great example and patience. The only thing they cut properly here are corners. The hair cutters here seem like carnival attendants that have never underwent a background check or know how to properly act around children. Would never go here again. Paid for a package that was supposed to include nail polish too but they didn't even bother to follow through and rushed us out of there after a horrible haircut. I asked what about the nail service I paid for and they said they wouldn't do it that day and threw some cheap rings at my daughter instead. This place is such a scam. Two starts for the receptionists who were super friendly. Went in today to get a haircut for my two kids. Both were around $35 each and per the website "wash, cut and blowdry". Neither the boy or the girl got a wash or blowdry. My girl got 4" taken off even though i asked for 2" and Toni, the manager who did her haircut said "gosh, you need saint level patience with toddlers". I saw other girls were leaving with cute braids and buttlerfly clips, but when i asked she said that "oh, i dont have time for that, my next appt is here". I just said nevermind and hurried to leave. After tip, it was $85 for two kids haircuts and none of them got a wash or a blowdry or a styling. Not worth anywhere near that $$$. read more

Came here to get someone BTS-concert ready and we had someone whose first day on the job. Not sure if he was nervous or excited because they were super fidgety and jumpy lol. But their cutting hands were stable so the cut turned out great. I'll probably come back but had it not been for other people's reviews, we would have walked out not having the mini-manicure and balloon. I had to run back in and ask about the Easter goodie bags and they said oops, I forgot. I hope the person we had sticks around or at least continues to take their time cutting hair, I've seen too many become complacent and rush the haircut process. If I could rate this place negative stars I would , don't get me wrong the customer service here is good and the women are extremely nice and caring but when it comes to cutting hair i had the worst experience ever . They left my sons hair super choppy it looked absolutely nothing like the reference photo and it was left so ugly and uneven I had been growing out his hair for a very special occasion and the woman who cut it completely ruined it . To start, my two year old hates getting his hair cut. The clippers overwhelm him and he's very strong and quick, so scissors are high risk. While excited to be here, once the clippers start going it's game over. I have to hold him and he still cries and thrashes. We're working on it, but it's absolutely why we do a kids only salon. (He was 1 of 3 having a meltdown luckily, and as parents we all know we're thankful when we aren't the only one with a melting down kid). Anyway, we had Tommie today. She was so sweet, patient, kept her cool, and remained encouraging throughout the entire process. New management! All the regular good reliable stylist are gone. Been coming here since I've had good experiences with Olga, Caren, Lisa and Michelle when they cut my son's hair. I ask for the same haircut and all of them were amazing with my son. Today my sons hair was butchered. The hairstylist didn't seem like she knew how to cut kids hair. Not only did she criticize my choice of haircut, she insisted my son needed to stay still and that it's not her fault that his hair won't be cut properly because he's moving. He is 2 years old and there's a reason why I chose to come to kids salon. She is supposed to be trained to handle kids and know how to cut hair properly under these kind of situation. Mind you my son was not rowdy and all over the place, he was quiet and stayed in his seat. he would occasionally bend his head forward a little or duck his neck which is perfectly normal. She kept saying daddy should be here not you and how he can better handle my son. After 10x she said it I had to tell her off to stop and told her we've been here several times. We are Summerlin/Lakes natives and we love to stay in our area whenever possible and Sharkey's is right down the street and we adore this salon. I have been bringing my daughter here for the last year or so and we are happy every single time. My daughter loves to go every few months to get her hair cut and styled. I also love the fact they offer mini manicures when their hair is all done. Everyone we have ever met with has done a great job with their hair and has so much patience! I also love they have all kinds of different chairs for the children and their tv programs to watch right in front of them. Makes the experience so much fun. My mom cut my daughters hair while I was away having a baby. Didn't do such a great job. Luckily Sharkey's exists because I think super cuts probably would have traumatized my kid. Sharkeys is a kids first hair cut dream. Especially for girls!! They have cool cars to sit in, TVs to play their favorite show, stuffed animals to hold, paint and pretty plastic rings for tiny fingers, glitter, bows, balloons, lollipops, I mean... where the hell was this place when I was a kid?! My little one was super hesitant at first (could have been the masks) but with some coaxing from myself and the sweet people working there, she did great! Such a nice/clean hair salon for kids. I took my 5 year old here earlier today for her first haircut. She was so exited to sit in the frozen car and watch a movie while she got a haircut. We just left our two year old sons first haircut booked with Michelle C. At 0530pm (her last appointment) . Even as her last appointment of the day she still welcomed us kindly and was very patient. We booked the 1st haircut special which came with a certificate, a lock of hair, and photos printed. I went in with many doubts as Michelle didn't have any reviews here to mention her but I was so pleasantly surprised. She was very sweet and calm and reassuring regardless of how much our two year old was screaming crying and fussing. Always a great experience here. Tristan and Reesie are amazing. My son absolutely loves Tristan, especially since he taught him how to play Minecraft while getting his haircut. Updated my review from 2-3 stars because of the owner reaching out to make things right. He explained the stylist is newer to their facility, and establishment . He offered me reimbursement and was extremely apologetic and as I said before they were all amazing staff it was just a bad hair cut and that was unfortunately the only reason we came ! I WILL give this establishment a second chance when her hair eventually grows out which unfortunately took all year to do :( But I'm hoping and trusting they will put us with an experienced stylist to give her a proper cut ! I appreciate them trying to make things right ! I wanted to 5 star review this place sooo bad !!! I had heard about this place from a Facebook moms group. My preteen has had awful haircut experiences and it's been hard for her to trust me and let me take her for another hair cut because no one seems to know how to cut hair. After all the great reviews we opted to try this place. When I called we were going to book for 11 so that her and her best friend could be done at the same time but they said that would have to be at 11:30. We arrived at 11:15 and only one girl was taken. My daughter didn't get started until after but they tried to make it so the girls got done at the same time: my daughter was excited to play roblox as that's what I sold her on but even though the roblox chairs were open they didn't have the option or get to play it. No big deal, the girls are older and we're fine. I met with stylist Britney and specifically told her about my daughters last experience and how they ruined her hair and cut it too short. I was very clear on what we needed and wanted, just a straight trim , take 2-3 inches off to get hair healthier and not have it too short because it's traumatizing for my daughter. I then wanted it blow dried and straightened to see the cut. Britney wasn't very attentive to what I was saying and her next clients had already checked in. You could tell she was stressed and rushed . Kaila's did Leila's hair and did a great job. My daughters stylist was so far behind they had to have the girl checking people in do the second part of her appointment, the nails part so Britney could get back to her next clients . But my daughter was happy however the hair was out in 2 French braids and not what I requested. My daughter told her to do the braids ‍. Paid and went on our big best friend shopping day, and an hour later I already noticed my daughters hair , all the ends coming out of the braids and so many different lengths. I really don't know what experience the stylist has and it's my fault for not asking. But it's one of the worst cut jobs I've ever seen. It was so choppy and my daughter can't put her hair in a pony tail or braids or bun or anything now. She's pretty devastated and the only way to fix it will be to cut it pretty short to the lowest cut the girl did. Customer service , and atmosphere is great. Unfortunately, after giving Sharkey's a few more tries over the past two years, we are still experiencing issues. My kids love this place. It's conveniently located. But I can't with the issues anymore. We went once, got assigned a stylist randomly and she did AMAZING on my son's hair. We loved it. When it was time for his next appointment, we scheduled online with her again, and again, great job. Yay! So, time for a haircut again. Once again, I go and schedule online. There are appointments available earlier in the week, but none with the stylist we like. So, we wait an additional week and book with her. We never chose "whoever available" option (or something like that), we specifically chose the stylist and waited for her to be available. We get to our appointment, and she isn't there. She isjt cutting my kids hair. We are told that unless we call specifically to book, we aren't guaranteed who we chose online??? What's even the point of the online booking system them? Still, I calm down, try to be cool. The hair looks fine styled. But alas, that seems to be their whole schtick. Styling it before we can get a look at the haircut - which, if they would have washed my kids hair like WE ARE PAYING FOR AND THEY NEVER DO, it would have taken longer and I could have had time to see. But anyway, we get home, that night he washes his hair. And what do you know ANOTHER UNEVEN BOWL CUT. The stylist destroyed the hairstyle we had worked MONTHS getting his hair grown out to. And it wasn't just mildly bad, it was freaking insanely bad. The front line of his hair looked like " / " that. So, it's Sunday, I call the place and ask to come in for it to be fixed. The lady remembers us from the previous day, seems surprised the cut is bad, and says she can get us in for "4 tomorrow". She was on speaker phone with me, and my husband and mother in law listening it. We agree it'll be a rush getting our kid from school to the hair cut place in time, but worth it. So, Monday rolls around, we rush to get him there for his 4pm appt and.... drumroll. The place is closed. They are closed on Mondays. Now I get it, the lady we spoke with obviously misspoke. Because on Tuesday at 4pm they were calling us wondering where we were. But they told us Monday, by accident or not, and my kid was already over having this horrific haircut. We ended up saying screw it, and paid another $15 at a great clips for them to salvage his hair the best they could. Plenty of people have had good experiences and that's cool, but our negatives far outweigh the bad. You don't get what you pay for (they never, ever wash my kids hair even though it's supposed to be included), and the haircuts only come out good 10% of the time.
