The fries were some of the best I've had from a food truck they had the perfect crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. Or more like not what I was expecting. This being the buttered potatoes. They were well done, but the extreme amount of butter was astonishing. I understand their name, but simply the butter overpowered me and my wife. Overall, a very well done potato but a pinch less butter and it would be perfect! At least for us. Now the wings. This was an amazing set of wings. Crunchy and crispy to the bone. The buffalo sauce was your standard sauce, but the wing it paired with was the absolute star. The chicken tenders were well done, I wish some were a tad bit thicker but overall worth the buy. I would recommend their BBQ sauce with these. The fries were also well done as they were not soggy and had a perfect amount of seasoning. Not too salty and a good amount. Overall, ShaWING does an excellent job at their wings. I'm from Buffalo and have struggled to find a chicken finger sub in the 303 area. I've been making them at home to get my fix during Bills games. ShaWING was parked near my house and I jumped on the opportunity to get me some taste of Buffalo. It was fine. Pros: the bun was great, the chicken crispy. Cons: it lacked that buffalo flavor I long for, and the ratio was lacking. Half of my sub barely had any meat. For $18 I felt hungry after and tossed half a bun bc it had nothing but a condiment left. Elevated! Your normal brewery bites but even tastier. My first experience with ShaWING was at Our Mutual Friend. Saw the truck before but this time food really jumped out at me. Fairly simple menu but it's all priced well and substantially portioned. No pretzels or hot dogs for seven bucks here! I gravitate towards the veggie/vegan options so fries hit the spot. Large basket crisp and chewy. Cheese on top was light and airy. Not the cheese fries that initially come to mind but that's a good thing. The fries went excellent with all my beer and left my partner and I satisfied. Plenty to share. Expertly seasoned. Don't want to eat too heavy and take away from your beer. Likewise pay a pretty penny and feel shorted. Previous reviews complain about the wings mostly but everyone else that day seemed satisfied with the purchase. Came out quickly but of course depending on truck workers and orders ahead of you that varies. Of the handful of locks food trucks I'll always be happy to see ShaWING pulling up nearby. read more

As I approached Epic Brewing Company this past Saturday to kick off a brewery crawl with some friends it struck me; I had not eaten. What a rookie mistake! But I was in luck! ShaWING truck to save the day! I browsed the menu and settled on the beef on weck sandwich and a side of the parmesan fries. Def happy with my choices! The sandwich was tasty tasty roast beef piled on a kummelweck roll with beef jus, mayo, and horseradish. It had some salt and herbs on the top bun that really made more of a mess than added to the meal in my opinion. Still good though none the less! I'm apparently on a roast beef sandwich kick lately and this was def a contender for the top ten! The parmesan fries were fried up perfectly and, while I only ordered a side of them, I got what seemed like a huge basket. Seriously need to work on customer service. Wings were very good. Roast beef was good. Service, was bad. I walked up and asked if I could get 2 sauces with 12 wings. The entire answer: "no". Not, "I'm sorry but..." or "we really can't...". Just "no" followed by awkward silence. So, I looked at the cost of 12 vs. 2 separate orders of 8 and 4 and it was $2 more for two orders, so I paid it and got the two sauces I wanted. When I carried the order over to where my wife was sitting, she noticed there was only one blue cheese even though I had paid full price for two separate orders which both should have come with blue cheese according to their menu. So I went back and asked for it and the guy said it was another dollar for a second blue cheese. After I had paid full price for two orders. At that point it was principal. I said "forget it" and walked off. Food was good, but I won't be patronizing them again. Totally turned off by the attitudes. read more

First off, they won't do half and half on a dozen wings. That's just laziness. I get that it's one more thing to think about, but what other wing place, ever, wouldn't let you choose 2 flavors on a dozen wings? $19 for a dozen wings is absurd. I get that food truck food tends to be more expensive, but that just is not good value. I walked up and announced myself with a "hey, how you doin?" The window man seems to be in an agitated state and said "just gimme a minute, man!" No problem, I'm fine with waiting. I placed my order and all he said was "I'll bring them to your table". No other communication. I started watching the clock at 7, but I ordered at least 10 minutes prior. At 7:25, I asked the guy to at least tell me how much longer my order was going to be. His response was a frustrated "we've got a lot of orders, man!" Within one minute he returns with a basket of wings which he proceeds to just slam down on the bar. I could tell I had pissed him off. I also ordered my wings in the dry rub, and they showed up completely naked. I don't know if that's what your dry rub is or if the guy just didn't toss them to rush them out to me. Either way, weak sauce. I ate them and didn't raise any more hell cuz I was starving and just wanted to get my food and get out of there. I understand that sometimes rushes and backups happen. The problem here is that there was no communication that my order would take over 30 minutes. I know how long it takes to fry an order of wings, about 10 minutes. I know that sometimes waiting 20 minutes on wings is not uncommon. A customer should NEVER wait 30 minutes (or more) without any communication about the wait time. Furthermore when I asked for communication I was met with frustration. High cost for wings that are nothing special. Seems like this truck does not have its operation dialed in and is not prepared to handle a rush. AND the order taker/foodrunner was rude to me. Though our group had enjoyed a huge brunch just a few hours earlier, we couldn't resist sharing a little snack since the smells wafting from the truck were absolutely intoxicating. Had I been ready for a meal, I would have gone to town because I absolutely love buffalo anything. My brother grabbed us an order of weck fries. I was dubious because I'm not into caraway but, one fry later, I was hooked. The caraway was not overwhelming; it was just the right hint of flavor and seemed to be ground into a seasoning rather than actual caraway seeds. The horseradish mayo served on the side was perfection. I consider myself a french fry aficionado and these were some of the tastiest, most unique fries I've had in a long time. As a small business owner, I really don't like to leave negative reviews for other small businesses. And dang if this isn't warranted. Service was fine and they did ask how the food was. They charge $12 for 8 wings and $4 for parmesan fries. The wings were very dry (not exaggerating) and had nothing special going for them otherwise to warrant the price. The top half of the basket of fries were great, and totally worth the price. However, the bottom of the basket was so salty I couldn't eat any more. Some food trucks charge a lot for some pretty exceptional food, many charge a reasonable price for decent quick food, and some, unfortunately, jump on the band wagon and try to capitalize on captive audiences (breweries) and charge exceptional prices. I'm concerned about which camp ShaWING is in. I'd have a hard time giving them a second chance even at a reasonable price. read more
