My son, Joe's, high school musical is this week. He plays the lead in "We Will Rock You." I scheduled a hair appointment for him for last weekend but the musical rehearsal went long and I had to cancel the appointment only an hour before it was due. I felt horrible about it; Jason @ Shear Vanity understood that the kid is trying to channel Freddie Mercury and that takes time. Fast-forward to this weekend. Joe really wanted his hair cut before the musical. Problem was... he was also performing in a choir concert on Saturday and wouldn't be home until 7 PM. No way we could get it done Saturday and Jason was closed on Sunday. I messaged Shear Vanity with the dilemma and Jason agreed to open on Sunday just to do the kid's hair. Unbelievable! He worked with Joe on his look and the two talked about music, drama, and all things rock-n-roll. Then Joe shared his other urgent problem: he needed a leather jacket for the show. "Oh, I have several," Jason replied like it was no big deal. So off we went to check out Jason's jackets; we leave his place with two on loan. I was just floored. What a stand-up guy! This was only the 2nd time my son had his hair done by Jason. But after the first, he refuses to see anyone else. He says no one else listens to him and "gets" what he wants. "They always put some gunk in your hair and want you to purchase it. But with Jason, he just makes your hair look cool so you leave feeling awesome about yourself," Joe said. After bouncing around to a few different expensive salons I finally found my forever haircut home with Jason at Shear Vanity. From the relaxed atmosphere to the amazing conversations we've had over the years, a haircut with Jason feels like a much needed respite from the daily grind each and every time. He also does a great job with the gray blending (I'm not quite ready to let the salt take over the pepper). You can tell when someone is truly passionate about their work. Jason definitely fits that bill but he's just as passionate about his customers and their overall experience. Do yourself a favor and expect more from your haircut experience. My daughter wanted a haircut and wanted to get it done immediately! Caught her with scissors in her hand asking her friend if she dared her to cut it so we had to do something. So I found Shear Vanity and sent a message. I was quite impressed by Jason's quick response and availability that fit our schedule. Took her in, waited just a couple of minutes and he was ready for her! Shear vanity is by far the best place around to get your hair cut! I've always been very particular about my hair and when I moved out to Schaumburg, I was in need of a new barber. Thankfully, I found Jason at shear vanity! Not only is he an great friend now, but he truly is a master of his craft and turns your ideas into a reality! His shop is perfect too especially with the covid-19 pandemic since all cuts are 1 on 1 appointment and all waiting is done outside of the suite. You only get one chance of a first impression and Jason at Shear Vanity hair salon knocked it out of the park! Salon was clean, professional and great cost. My son and I both had Jason cut and style our hair. We both look amazing! Jason has been cutting my hair for about a year. My hair is hard to cut because it is wavy and coarse. Most stylists/barbers mess it up and leave uneven spots. Jason have never mess up once.
