I love Ethiopian food, however this business is running with little effort or thought. The server left my table alone without touching base for long periods of time. The injera is ultra sour here; it's not for mild tongues. The lamb has more bone than meat. The beef was gamey. I will look for Ethiopian food elsewhere. read more

After realizing the slight language barrier was making my to-go order more difficult by phone, I said I'd just come in and order since I'm serious about "no beets" on my veggie combo. The food is decent, not as rich in flavor as I'd hoped and the serving size was significantly smaller than any other vegetable dish I've had at nearby restaurants. This is the best Ethiopian restaurant that I have been to since moving here three months ago. Looks nice on the inside and VERY good food. I have never had injera bread that tastes as fresh as the bread here. Their food is seasoned very well and there is always a decent crowd here. This place would be food heaven if they served chicken tibs. Their waitresses don't seem to be the friendliest but I think that may be due to language barriers. This was my first experience with Ethiopian food. I must say I did like the dish I had. It was called Kitfo with their grey stretchy super sour pancake bread. The meat was delicious. The bread not so much. I muscled through eating this dish with the bread. I heard that there is another pizza type bread that is not so sour. I must try it with that next time! There is a massage "parlor" next door which looks very sketchy and I had a guy ask me where the library was and then to proceed to circling the parking area but other than that it was a pleasant experience. My friends and I had a great meal here. The plates were nice and big with delicious Ethiopian bread as the delicious edible eating utensil. I had the vegetarian plate and each dish on the platter was DELICIOUS, packed with flavor, and felt hearty and healthy. I will absolutely be back to this place. Take it from an Ethiopian, this is the best Ethiopian restaurant you can find in America. I have been to a lot of cities, and this is my favorite one. The gored gored is always on point. I don't mind driving hours for it. The customer service needs to improve though. This could be a factor keeping people away despite the delicious food. We've never had Ethiopian cuisine before and went in as an adventure because eating should be an adventure. When opening the door and stepping in, my nose was greeted with a wonderful combination of spices drifting through the air. My first thought was if the food is half as good as the smell I just savored, I'm going to love this place. The restaurant is very, very clean, very spacious and has an understated elegance. We were greeted with a friendly smile and lead to a table Keep in mind, we've never had Ethiopian food before. I glanced at the menu. I looked at the menu. I studied the menu. I memorized the menu. I had no bloody idea what to order. So I made a deal with the server. We ordered the Vegetarian Combination (10.00) and a half and half (two entrees - 15.00). She asked what entrees we wanted. I told her we were easy to feed and she could pick two. The server picked the Doro Wot (a spicy chicken) and I think beef Lega Tibs (I'm not sure). The plating was wonderful, beautiful as a matter of fact. The platter was covered with injera (Ethiopian bread made out off teff). On top of the injera was the vegetable combo, centered with the 2 entrees. The waitress won my heart. There was no silverware. She brought out a co-worker who demonstrated how to use tear off a piece of injera and use it to grab the food and eat it. Done very tactfully. Now I couldn't tell you for sure what vegetable dishes we ate but they were all good. The Doro Wot was spicy, flavorful and very good. The beef, in my opinion, was very good but the chicken was my favorite. If you're idea of great food is Friday's, BJ's or some other chain restaurant, this is probably not a good pick for you. If you are looking for something a bit different and a bit fun, Sheba's is worth considering. read more

The food was extremely tasty, and really nice portions. There were only a few other people in there for lunch, which is sad - it's a great location, easy to get to. This is a bar. If you like being parked at a red light and listening to the boom boom boom of the bass in the car stopped at the light next to you, then picture yourself eating dinner inside that car and trying to have a conversation with the person there at the table with you, but inside of that car. This is a bar with loud music and drunk patrons who have installed an app on their phones allowing them to control the volume though the staff pleaded with them (on our behalf ) to turn it down. Add disco lights (yes, I'm serious) and you are there. Was the food good? It was quite good. Would I go back? Only if I wanted the experience I have just described... which will never happen. Clearly, the game was to get rid of those two white ladies eating dinner in the corner. They succeeded. We tipped the waitress and paid for our dinner because, as she said, she had no control over it (The owner said the same), but I would NEVER put up with that again and I hope TABC checks out their licensing and the percentage of their income that is food driven. Again, not a restaurant. It's a bar. We are not from Dallas but took the opportunity to try out Sheba's on a weekend visit. They were able to help me arrange for gluten-free Injera for my meal. Today I called in my order for a Veggie Combo to go and once I arrived a few minutes later my order was ready. The food is good, fresh, and a delightful fill. The atmosphere was pleasant and the waitresses came to my attention once I arrived. The price is fair considering all that goes into getting you fresh food. Normally, I order the Beg Tibs (Lamb) juicy and it is my favorite of all. The Injera is fresh always.
