I was in town for the father's day car show in Pismo this weekend, and had a horrible time, our hotel was a nightmare and then I had my car break down and I needed to go out and get some good grub and unwind and destress. This place was amazing! My fiancee and I sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I ordered the hombre burger with Brussels and Apples, it was the biggest, and juiciest burger I've had in a very long time. My fiancee had the Elvis lives burger and he was surprised by how good it was. The cook on the burger was perfect, it was served fairly quickly since they were busy in the bar, where we ordered, due to cal poly grads and family's celebrating with their father's. I highly recommend this place to anyone who adventures over to Pismo. I live over 2hrs away and will be making this one of my go to spots whenever I'm in town!!! While staying in Pismo Beach we weren't too hungry at dinner time so we decided to order appetizers from the Shell Beach Brewhouse. This decision certainly was an outstanding choice!! We ordered the Pretzel Sticks, Macaroni and Cheese, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Wings and Stuffed Jalapeños. (There were 4 adults in our party). All were outstanding!! I also had the fried cheese curds and they were great and I finished with a half basic green salad with the house dressing and the dressing was really good. Today we went for Valentine's Day, our first time. We went after the movies at 851. They said they closed at 9 and I told them we were sorry that yelp said 10. They took us anyways kindly. We sat and eventually ordered the oyster shooters "our way". My boyfriend never did one before and we tried it and really liked it! Next we got for dinner the rockcod sandwich and the carnitas sandwich which I don't remember the name. Both yummy! Got the fries and the kettle chips. Wow!! Just had the best enchiladas I have ever had and I wasn't even at a Mexican Restaurant! Butternut SquashEnchiladas were friggin off the chain!!!! The place looked great, was packed(always a good sign), staff was friendly and courteous, and I can't wait to get back again. Although it will be hard for me to try something different. Our server, Chelsea was informative about the items on the menu and had made some great recommendations, but when she mentioned that some people come there JUST for the enchiladas, I figured I had to try it... My husband and I stopped at this restaurant during our road trip down the coastline. My husband had the Elvis burger and it was AMAZING. We both have been craving an Elvis burger since we stopped here but have found that most restaurants do not serve anything like this. This brewhouse was an unexpected find for us in Pismo! My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to try some place new near his beach house and we saw this on Yelp! We both got burgers and wow they were amazing. The fries were probably even better than the burgers, both the sweet potato and regular fries were out of this world! We both ordered drinks, my boyfriend got a beer and the bar was able to make an older drink off their precious menu, the Ocean (I think?) and it was delicious!! This place was so good, we ate dinner here both nights of our staycation. Service was attentive and the food came out fast. The Pit Beef Frat BOY sandwich was amazing. The type of sandwich that sounds busy on paper but totally delights your tastebuds. Lots of TVs to catch the game on. Cheese curds were a great appetizer to start. My only complaint was in a flight of tasters, I got charged an extra $1 for choosing a Barrelhouse variety. Butternut Enchiladas (butternut squash, spinach, queso fresco, cilantro, charred pasilla pepper, chipotle salsa, diced sweet onions, blistered tomatoes). I enjoyed it overall but to many onions on top. It took away from the flavor in a big way. For adult beverages they have a HUGE selection of beer! Blow away. Hubby have the Figuera Mtn stout and I hav a dity martini. Both great. Dessert we had the Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich (cinnamon vanilla ice cream, dark chocolate bits). Ice cream was great. The food was ok at best - nothing to write home about. Our server seemed to be the only one working. It was a Friday night and there were multiple servers just hanging out talking. We split the Bavarian pretzels with cheese. The cheese was coagulated and wasn't anything special. The chicken sandwich with jerk sauce was so hot that neither of us could taste anything afterwards. The French dip was ok but not worth $16. I asked the server for new iced tea because the brew / brix (not sure if it was actually brewed) was so light and flavorless that I wasn't sure it was tea at all. Not sure we will be back since we were in from out of the area and looking for somewhere new to eat. Because it's a fairly new establishment in our area, the Brewhouse was incredibly busy when we stopped there on a Sunday night. We walked in somewhat near the bar area and sat at a bar facing the window. Not a great view, but not bad for people-watching. No one offered to seat us at a regular table, but thankfully, we were able to order our food and eat right where we sat. They had a plethora of beer on tap, but as far as my personal tastes go, I would've liked to have seen more small craft beers available. They ran the usual gamut of Firestones, as does any local bar. Because of their limited selection of IPA's, all of which I'd already had, I went with my good ol' standby of Wooky Jack. (It's a great cold winter night beer.) Their menu was pretty jam-packed with incredibly delectable-sounding items. I noticed the Hawaiian flair with Ahi Poke, "Ono" this and spam-that. Anytime anyplace pays homage to island grindz, that's a big plus in my book. The reason for the four stars is because when our food came (and fairly quickly at that), I had the privilege of savoring the best burger I have EVER TASTED. I had the Vineyard burger, which consisted of a perfectly-cooked hamburger, caramelized onions, and a Chardonnay aioli. Holy crap. It was huge, and I downed every bit of it. The Ono Kettle Chips on the side were pretty good, but with that burger, they were basically as overshadowed as whoever plays opposite Matthew McConaughey in...well...just about anything. I will definitely go back and hopefully discover something else as amazing as that burger. I don't have any doubt our next trip will be just as successful. Like the Ahi Tuna, but many of their other menu selections are alcohol based. I guess I would say this place is great for drinkers but not too good for eaters. Chicken sandwich and Brewhouse hamburger are average. Most dishes are overly spicy for my taste. This is my third visit and first review of the Brewhouse. This is a sure winner for Shell Beach & the Central Coast. The food & beer selections are fantastic, service friendly & attentive and our server, Jamie was really amazing. The ahi salad was piled high with fresh chopped ahi, the Frat Boy beef poor boy sandwich piled high with meat, fried cheese curds, thick bacon, onion rings & aioli mayo~ a real winner along with the housemade Ono potato chips. Hamburgers big, juicy & perfectly cooked, fish & chips fresh & not a bit greasy, chicken salad fresh & flavorful. The beer snob in our group was totally impressed with the 30 on tap beers, many local brews. They do need more than the two one stall restrooms as the bar was overflowing & people were waiting in line, the place is quite noisy due to cement floors & high ceilings but the decor is beautifully rustic & the quality of the food & service far outweighs these minor shortfalls. We are fans & regulars of Rooster Creek in the AG Village which is owned by the same folks and will be regulars at the Brewhouse as well. read more

Each occasion we were seated quickly, friendly service, good beer and cocktail selection, and great food. We shared a salad and a burger and were stuffed. Love this place! Every time we visit the Pismo area we eat at least one meal here. The food is always very good and the service is excellent. Last night was no different. Went with a party of 8 and had a great meal. Started off with appetizers, we always order the homemade chips (yum), wings and last night got the bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños (yum yum yum). We then ordered a variety of entrees; sliders, tacos, hamburgers and sandwiches and ended the meal with dessert. Everything was delicious. My only complaint is that I am gluten free and they do not offer very many items that are gluten free so I pretty much just get them same thing every time, a lettuce wrapped hamburger. We saw this place on the freeway yesterday and decided to give it a try tonight. It was Monday night around 5:30 pm. The place was more than half full. We were told by the front lady that we came as a good time as it was jam packed over weekend. The place is clean and ambiance is very nice. The sign outside does not look exciting but the inside is modern and cozy. We parked on the street but later saw that they do have a small parking lot on the side. After seated, the drink menu shows a list of wines and beers. We were a bit disappointed that they do not brew their own beer although the name brew house suggested and is misleading. We ordered firehouse honey blonds and was told that one has ran out. We switched to firehouse DBA. And later was told again it has ran out also. It was still In the early evening and it seemed everything was ran out. So we just asked the lady to suggest what they do have so we won't be going on circles without drinks available. Fortunately, the foods were extremely good. From the menu, there were nothing special that grabbed our immediate attention. So we ordered a pulled pork burger, a full size salad and clam chowder. And oh boy! We were surprised by the quality of all the entrees and their tastes The pulled pork burger was extremely juicy in a sesame breaded bun, and in a huge size. Meats were very tender. Together with cabbages and lettuces, it was nothing greasy at all. We chose the braised vegetable as the side. It was done with kale. I never had kale that is so naturally sweet. The full size salad indeed came in a very good size. You can see all the greens in very fresh and good shape. The honey mustard dressing we chose was very smooth with light sweetness. We were told the clam chowder was done in Manhattan style upon ordered. I was concerned at first as I never liked clam chowder done that way as most of the time it ended up too salty. This one, however, was never salty at all. And better yet, it came with a lot of clam meats and was homy and comforting. It did come with a bit of after-kick but was tasted so memorable. Very nice place with reasonable food prices. The only thing that kept me from giving full stars was the confusing drink menu as you never know which ones are available. Also, our waitress seems to be lack of knowledge of the menu items as she failed to answer a few of our questions about the foods. It was understandable as the place is new and only been opened a couple of weeks. Other than these minor issues, we can not be more satisfying about the foods and services. First time in Pismo Beach and just wanted some simple grub and a beer. This place delivered in spades! Huge beer selection on tap, great atmosphere with lots of sports on TV but with the sound turned off so not annoying, and very nice people. Service could have been a bit faster otherwise I would have given this a 5 star. We had the lb of wings to start - half buffalo, half jerk. Both were really tasty and the wings were cooked perfectly - crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside. My wife and I split the burger with bacon - unbelievable. Awesome seasoning on the meat made me just want to eat the patty plain! My son had the cheesesteak and it was equally yummy. Fries are twice cooked with a great batter on them and we couldn't stop eating them. Would definitely return. read more
