This Shell has been here for considerable time. If you're running close to empty, they are fairly competitive with other nearby stations. This is between Annandale and City of Fairfax proper. There you might save a few cents. I've had the car inspected here, and had a EGR valve handled to my satisfaction. If not mistaken, I still believe they have online and paper coupons for oil changes at a great price. It is a tight fit in here. Route 236 is never boring. If you go here in the evening rush hour, I hope someone will let you out westbound side. The employees are decent folks. Went in for an inspection and they came up with a myriad of random things they wanted to fix. Quoted $300+ on a part I can buy on Amazon and replace myself for $50. Laughable that they think they can pull one over on you. Highly discourage anyone go to these scam artists. read more

Our negative experience is related to safety inspection. The inspector/owner saw some condensation inside a rear tail light lens and said no level of condensation was acceptable. He failed the inspection of our 2013 Avalon. He also pointed out 3 tires with wear at outer edge due to misalignment. He falsely said other inspectors didn't know what they were doing, when I said that I've never seen such a rejection and don't see a problem with some condensation. I researched the Virginia 2019 Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Manual and found no support. I challenged him and his response was nobody is perfect, after he looked up the manual and couldn't find support for his rejection. The owner said many more offensive things to me in defending himself but I won't repeat them here. The point I want to make is that you should challenge a dubious rejection and ask for support. Inspectors need to make proper rejection based on written official manual and not based on his opinion of what should or shouldn't be. They are always super fast and there is not usually too bad of a wait (other places there seems to always be an hour wait, even in the middle of a weekday). I fell victim to Groupon again! Came here because they advertised a "synthetic blend" oil change which turned out to be an over priced regular oil change instead. After getting there and showing him the Groupon, the guy wrote "regular oil change" on the work order. After I questioned him, he tried claiming that the regular oil is the same as saying "synthetic blend". In what world is this true?!?!? Then he tried up selling me on the synthetic which was an additional 40 dollars. Fyi, they don't even have a "synthetic blend" option. Took my car in for an annual inspection and the mechanic said he could barely pass the vehicle because my front tie rod was bad. However, for $500 he was willing to fix it. I got two other opinions, one from the dealer and the other a local mechanic. It turns out the prognosis was the tie rod was a little loose but could easily go another year. I had it replaced for $170.00 anyway. I will not ever honor them with my business nor recommend them to any friends, associates, neighbors, Facebook friends, or any other social media platform. read more

I went to this location for a safety inspection 3 years ago. They failed my car and said a front wheel bearing needed to be repacked. A job about $90, I said go ahead and do it. Fast forward 3 years, one day I checked on front brakes and found the same bearing was slightly loose. I decided to work it myself. I took the bearing off, inside the bearing housing, there are two types of bearing greases, inside a bright Mercedes green grease, and at outer half, a red shop grease. The person who did it did not even bother to clean out the old grease, you could see mixture of red and green bearing grease in half of the bearing housing. The result of Pineridge Shell's bearing repacking job. I had to replace that bearing after all. I'll never trust this shop for anything they do on people's cars. Avoid it like a disease. read more

You decide if it rates 1 star or not. Back story, I heard a light noise in my front end in my 2006 Wrangler and took it to my regular shop in July. They found nothing wrong with the front end suspension, etc. On September 21 I took it to Pineridge Shell for an inspection. Mohamad rejected it for a headlight issue, spotlight issue(related to the headlight), a parking brake issue(adjustment), and apparently a loose tie rod end(front end). It is unclear if it was rejected for this or not since it was not on the rejection slip. I have no issues with the lights or brake. He immediately offered to give me an estimate which I declined. I took it back to my regular mechanic and they found nothing wrong with the tie rod end which I specifically asked them to check. I took it back and the regular inspector, Sayed, passed it. So, who do you believe? One, the shop who rejects the car, offers an estimate to make money off of me, or two, the shop that I tell there is a problem and they say there is no problem when they could've easily backed up the story from Mohamad saying there was a loose tie rod end and made money off of me? I'm choosing to believe the second shop. If you choose to go there for an inspection, ONLY get one from Sayed. He will do a fair inspection and only reject it when needed. read more

No one could have done a better job at such a low price (and I checked at least 5 other shops in each instance). Moe & his staff is always 100% upfront with me on what the issue is and how to fix the problem. No pressure, just options & price points. Crazy shady! Bought a Living Social deal for a synthetic oil change. Within days of purchasing it, they redeemed it. I called the gas station to let them know and they said it was a mistake on Living Social's end. I called LS to get it reversed which they didZ. Today I noticed again that it was marked as redeemed. Again I called LS to request a refund which I will have to wait for an account specialist to get in touch with me. The waits on the phone to try and get this fixed have been unbearable. Do not use them. If these are the types of business practices that they engage in, I can only Imagine what they actually put into your car. read more

Service isn't rude, but it certainly isn't helpful either. Don't ask them to manually enter your Giant rewards card number because they'll screw it up. Don't ask them why the pump isn't taking your zip code because they won't know and they won't have a work-around solution for you either. I have to disagree. I brought my car here for an inspection but knew that my car was having some deeper issues. I was actually afraid to drive it without getting it fixed. The service people were VERY helpful and very friendly. I brought my car in the next day for a major overhaul and the service manager, Mo, gave me a ride home. They quoted me one price after looking at my car (which was very fair) but when they called to tell me it was ready to pick up, they discounted the price by over $200. BEWARE!!! You will be scammed. I was charged $100+ for oil change ONLY. I also had a groupon that I had purchased that was not honored. I called the BMW dealership down the street and found out a 7 qts of synthetic 5W30, waste disposal, and taxes it would cost me $87. Going to another local shop, it usually cost me $70-$80ish which I am ok with. 1qt of oil is $6. This place charge $12. I am not even sure if the service was done correctly. Best neighborhood gas station in the world. Like having your own set of throwback mechanics like from the 1950s. "Mo" and his gang are customer focused, accommodating, take last minute rush jobs, and always say hi even if I'm just getting coffee from the 7-11 next door. Without sounding too much more like I was paid to write this, just make sure you tip your mechanics. They're great, work hard, and deserve what you can spare. I go to Pineridge now for every little hiccup from inspections to replacing whatever that thing was that fell out from under my truck (and I'm sure that wasn't good). This year they identified a couple of issues for the first time, which they quickly addressed at a reasonable price with a minimum of inconvenience to me. They gave me pricing options and, for at least one issue, recommended that I go to the dealer, which would fix the problem less expensively than they could, which suggests to me that they are not trying to screw over their customers. DO NOT GO HERE! I never post yelp reviews but this one is a must. I specifically asked Mohammad the owner of the shop if I would be receiving synthetic he said yes, but told his employee otherwise. Mohammad went into my car to move it into the garage as doing so he reached over into my glove compartment WITHOUT MY CONSENT and took a previous service document with a receipt stapled to it and took it with him into the office. After asking him why he took the document he stated that it was for him to see my vin number which is accessible in the windshield of my car. I paid for a synthetic blend oil change and received a regular. They claimed it was reg oil is synthetic oil. After I confronted him about it he asked me to leave. If you go here make sure he does not do you the same. I was able to get my full refund back. Don't let this happen to you. I'm usually easygoing and you must do a lot to piss me off. I came in here with a nail in my tire and I needed a quick fix since I am a nanny and I needed to pick up the child I take care of. I go in, they take me and they get it done. It cost $32.67, which at that point seems reasonable (I usually get it done for $15 or free) after a quick patch, I am driving toward Arlington about 5 miles away when I notice that the air of the tire is starting to lower- didn't I get a patch? Well I can't go back because I nanny a child so we make it to the child's house another 7 miles so in total 12. My tires started at 38 and are now at 30 within a 30 minute tire frame. Well after nannying you best believe the tire lowered more- now we are at a 25 and I get to another gas station by 21 (air pressure numbers) and the wonderful EXXON on 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue put air and told me to get it fixed elsewhere because it was a shitty job. Well luckily I work for a dealership and my father is a mechanic so problem solved he does it. I come back because I called the manager of the store to tell him the plug didn't work( 2 hours after the plug), he tells me to come back the next week when I work again and he will refund me my money- well jokes on me because I come today to get a refund and after 30 minutes of back and forth and him trying to belittle me he refuses to refund money. The fact is, this patch job should have lasted my tire a couple hundreds of miles before replacing not 12 miles to half way flat! I will be posting this review on every site because the manager really messed with the wrong person- you should have refunded especially after seeing photos with time stamps- no one wants a flat and for the money I paused I expected to last longer. I am truly upset with management, I understand this car world is more of a "guy thing" or whatever, but because I am a woman please don't think I don't know my stuff. So if you ever have a nail and need a patch- don't come here this place is the worst cause you ARE going to have to get another one because they can't patch a tire correctly. read more

I brought my car here for oil change. They called me saying my transmission oil is dirty and I should have transmission oil flushed. My car had about 65000 miles on it by then. I agreed and paid mores than $700. After one week, I feel my car won't speed up even if I pressed the gas hard. It even slipped backwards when I tried to drive it forward. So I brought it back. The mechanic was very nice and test drove the car with me. After he tested it, he said it didn't have any problem. So I trusted him and kept driving my car until one day the problem got really bad. I brought it to another auto shop, they said the transmission is damaged including some other parts of the car because the transmission oil level is too low. They also told me transmission doesn't need flush until 100000 miles. Now I have to pay about $3000 to fix it. Literally they damaged my transmission by flushing it. read more

Service Manager is rude and condescending. Went in for a safety inspection on a car I only drive during the summer. Before I left home, I checked all the lights since it's been sitting all winter. Inspector came in an said he failed me for headlights. When I went out, both headlights were pushed into the grill area in the exact same way, with the plastic piece for the headlight adjuster busted, which are not available anymore. This was plainly obvious and not something I would have missed when I checked the lights immediately prior to the inspection. I suppose it could have happened in the 3 mile ride there, but both in the same manner? The service manager Emad couldn't have been more rude. Didn't want to understand the situation and telling me I should file a police report. Maybe I should do just that. I'm not saying it's malicious, but both headlights broken in the same way when I had just checked them doesn't add up. read more

TOTAL SCAMMERS. Bought a living social deal from them where they advertised synthetic oil change for 80 dollars discounted to the living social price (42?). Don't quite remember what it was but it was significantly cheaper. Turns out after taking it to a reputable mechanic shortly after since my car broke down, it was indicated to me that my oil had appeared to be suspiciously "topped off and totally black" and after having just gone to them to get my oil changed. They made me sit in a waiting room for ten minutes and boom they were done! Of course they were done super fast. They did not do what they were suppose to do and just slapped on the sticker for the next oil change. They are totally crooks and scamming everyone with oil changes. I took my car for a brake repair and they called me back saying that they could not fix it and if I still want them to try to fixed then I will have to pay extra money because "his mechanics work base on commission".
