We've used Shepard Parking for years. Our last experience (1-week ago), may have changed our mind. When we arrived at the shuttle bus pickup we called and were told the person was on their way and would be there in 5-10 minutes. We waited for 20-25 minutes before they arrived and when we got on the bus it was so full of cigarette smoke that it was like a fog. The guy didn't help us with our bags and just asked us if we were in the outside lot or in the ramp. He got us to our car, but never helped us off with our bags and sped off once we were off the shuttle. Honestly, the worst customer service that I've experienced with Shepherd parking. I've been parking at Shepard for years, largely because of its convenient location. But getting out of the lot is ALWAYS a hassle: currently, when you reserve your space online, you're provided a receipt with a big bar code. What is the code for? Do you scan it at the lot? Show it to someone? No explanation. I'd like to pay online, but that's not possible. When you do enter the lot, the machine prints out a TINY slip with a small QR code. What is that for? Again, no explanation, but you'd better hang on to it -- and your bar code sheet -- just in case. When you return, better pray you haven't misplaced that miniature QRC because, as it turns out, that's what you need in order to pay and leave the lot. You're instructed to "scan credentials" -- what? Credentials?! That could be anything! It's a confusing, cumbersome process, one that changes but never improves. Oh, and the shuttle has never been at the airport in all the years I've been flying -- you, or somebody, has to call. Other shuttles are waiting, never (in my experience) Shepard. Oh, and if you email a question to the company prior to travel, it's unlikely you'll get a reply. It's true what they say: location, location, location. This has been my favorite parking lot for 20 years. It's great for getting close to MSP without paying the long term price of actually parking at the airport. I like having the choice of indoor or outdoor space; both are well lit and supervised 24/7. I once left my car in the outdoor lot for 10 days, came back to discover I had forgotten to lock my vehicle and was more than pleasantly surprised that nothing had been touched! The shuttle drivers are always awesome, helpful and safety conscious about transporting passengers. Plus, they drop you right on the sidewalk outside the terminal. January 17. 2020 Looks like our last visit here. Thought we'd found our new place to park. Enjoyed several ramp experiences this last year, signed up as a preferred member. Seems good til we arrive today enter the ramp using the reservation code and we park. A driver chases us down and we load our bags into the shuttle. Exit the ramp and was told we must MOVE OUR CAR to the surface lot. NICE, so we get a ride back to our car and move the car as they relocate my party and luggage to another shuttle. read more

I always park at Shepard Road Parking. Last week, I paid for a spot inside as snow was forecast. When I got to the ramp, the only spot I could find was against the east wall. When I returned a week later, my car was covered with snow. I contacted the manager named Albert to ask for the outdoor rate since I really was outdoors. He told me that the policy didn't allow him to do that. After parking in this location for years, I have decided that his lack of flexibility will cause me to find another parking ramp near the airport. read more

I was a first time user of the parking and shuttle this month. I had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and I felt very safe . My trip was from Sept 21 to the 23. I would like to call out both Nathan and Jeanine as excellent employees and team members. I booked my reservation under my middle name on line and we had a heck of a time finding it when I went to pay. But they were so sweet and patient. Absolute BEST place to park if you are flying out of terminal 1! I have used this service multiple times for business trips, their price and service can't be beat! They are super convenient with their rewards card and the easy access to both lots. You have a choice between sheltered or open lot, but I always prefer the open lot. The drivers are super friendly and great to talk to. Makes the shuttle ride less boring! Super quick to get picked up from the airport and returned to the car. I've parked regularly at Shepard Road for years with decent service. Over the last few months my opinion of the service provided has changed for the worst. More times than not I have to call to get a van over to Terminal 1 and have had some lengthy wait times. Today I waited over 15 minutes after calling. I said something to my driver Mike P and he responded we don't make regular stops until after 10am. One other person then boarded and he asked her if she called, she replied no. Mike P then turned to me and said "see, luck of the draw." To which I replied "good customer service should not be the luck of the draw." By the way, Mike P did not get out of his seat and take my bag off the shuttle as is usually done. I suspect as retaliation for voicing my displeasure for my lengthy wait for the shuttle. As I waited today, Park and Go and other offsite lots had multiple shuttles come and go. If there is no regular pick ups at Terminal 1 until 10:00 am as Mike P said, SRP should inform their customers that pick ups at the airport require the customer to call. read more

The staff are all wonderful people who are committed to getting you in-and-out as fast as possible. I've never had a bad experience. Their new frequent parker card is also great. You swipe in and swipe out and they automatically bill your credit card attached to the account. You also get a free day with - I believe - every 10th day you park. Couldn't be easier. Last month Shepard Road Airport Parking staff rose above and beyond when our car would not start after a long day of traveling. Three of the bus shuttle operators kept tabs on us as we waited for AAA to figure out the problem and eventually tow us home. They were such sweet gentlemen and provided us with the best customer service. Shepard Road Airport Parking is by far the best price and quickest shuttle to the airport but I found out how professional and caring their employees are that day. Thank you to the night office guy for giving us shelter from the cold, snacks, a place to charge our phones, and a restroom to use while we waited. I have been using their covered lot for three years and really liked the place. However, this trip I was forced to park up on the roof of their lot which is uncovered. In the past, they used to at least sweep off the car in the event of snow. Last night I arrive back to find the car covered in snow, and since I paid for covered parking I had come to the car in dress shoes. Not only was the car covered but it was surrounded by 3-4 inches of snow that I got to walk around in while I removed the snow. The cashier offered nothing for my troubles, the driver got a $5.00 tip and circles back around after I had 90 % of the snow off to see if I wanted some help! Bye bye..... read more

I just got back from Chicago on a weekend trip. My car battery was dead. Two of the shuttle drivers, Les and Schultz came to my rescue and jumped my car! They were fabulous. They got my car started and were as nice as could be. They were knights in shining armor. I will definitely park there again. It was easy to park there and very easy access to the airport. read more

On our way in to the parking lot we had our ticket and then the driver took it when we got on. On our way out we were unable to get through the gate because we needed our ticket. A driver came up to us to see what was going on and we told him that the first driver took our ticket and he kept replying with " Drivers don't take the ticket" and he was treating us like crap. He refused to believe that a driver took our ticket when he did in fact take our ticket. He had the worst attitude out of any driver that we have ever had. This parking lot was easy to find, easy to park in, and the shuttle comes frequently and comfortably fit our entire nine person party. My friend and I drove a 16 ft Penske truck fro NC to WA State with a two day stop over in St Paul. We didn't want to drive it all around the city so we researched and found this parking company. From the moment I called with questions to saying goodbye two days later, every employee made us feel welcome and like we were family. The oversized outdoor parking was secure , well lit, affordable and close to St Paul downtown, where we were staying. Shepard Road Parking was easy as pie! I parked there, for a leisure trip, which left at 0dark30 and returned about the same time. The shuttle driver was there promptly, to help me with my bags and help me up to the bus. We arrived quickly and safely. When getting off, we were given a piece of paper which stated which row I was parked in, how to contact them in case I was running late or had issues and where to find them on my return. The outdoor lot is gated, although it would be easy for someone to walk through the little gates, I didn't feel my car was in any danger. On the way back, once reaching the shuttle area, the shuttle was right in front - easy to see - and the gal who was driving was again, quick to greet and help with my bags. She was kind and welcoming - and frankly - a nice face to see when you've just been on a flight with a screaming child. =) She also helped with my bags, when we reached my car and made sure my car started before driving to the next customers' car. I used a voucher that I'd found online and while they accidentally charged me twice for my parking (ironically - the exact same amount), when I called to inquire about it - were VERY quick to credit back my account, and even offered a small bonus for my troubles. Highly recommend this company! Only concern (temporary) is that there is construction on 5, so the Davern St exit is closed. It threw my GPS off, but thankfully, once I made it to the stoplight, a simple right turn and I was there. ******************************UPDATE*********************** I had purchased my parking through a discount website and was kinda unclear as to how the whole process worked. A few days later, I saw that I had been charged twice for parking. Once by the website and once by the parking folks. I called them and the manager was VERY accommodating, listened to the problem, asked good questions, FIXED IT immediately(!) This was second time using Shepard parking. As soon as I get there to park my car, the shuttle came and the driver helped me to move my bags up to the bus. When I return it was not too long to wait the shuttle at the airport. After arriving to the parking lot, the bus driver helped me to pay the fee. Nice drivers, easy process and decent cost. I have used Shepard Rd. parking for over 12 yrs. and found them to be reliable. My problem is in there loyalty program. They do not even remotely keep accurate accounts of your parking days. I have on numerous occasions tried to get a accurate account of my parking days and they said they would look into it and they have not. Now they will not even respond to my inquiries. Over 12 years of parking there, sometimes up to 4 trips in a year and I have not even received 1 free day. Is this what they really think of their customers? read more

Great place to park when flying from MSP. You can park in surface lot or in a ramp for $1 more per day. We parked in the ramp and their an follows you as you enter and drives right to your car to pick up you and your luggage and shuttle you to the airport. Extremely fast in coming to the airport to pick you up when you are returning from your trip as well. All the staff are very friendly. There was a slight problem with our payment and Ben from the accounting office was very responsive and immediately addressed our concerns. We have already parked there for a second trip and plan to continue to do so. read more

Parked my vehicle in the ramp for a week. Upon arrival (3:30am) the shuttle vehicle was right behind me as I got parked and we were wisked right off to the airport. Our arrival was a little slower, ( I forgot to tell them terminal 2) my fault, once picked up taken promptly back to the ramp and unloaded our luggage. I'm a fairly frequent business traveler and I'd park here even if it were more expensive than the airport. (Which of course it's not, it's far cheaper.) If you're heading in from the north or east this is the most convenient option there is. It's easier and less stressful than driving to airport. Never have to worry about parking being full and going around in circles in the airport ramps; the van picks you up at your car within a minute or two and drop off right at the airport entrance, and I've never once had to wait long for a return pick up. I think it's only gotten better since the new owners took over. More modern, more vans, nice drivers and good loyalty program. read more

Someone scratched my car horribly. I contacted the Shepard customer service to report the incident to see if they can help me find who did it. They replied that these problems happen all the time and they could not do anything about it. If you like cheap parking fee, come here. If you have a new car or cars you don't want to get any damage, don't come. They will not resolve any problem involving your car. They only care for your parking money.
