A few years ago I had transmission problems and went to AAA transmission for a free estimate. Next day they needed $300 to further diagnose. Next day they needed $10,000 to replace. Budget towing recommended Shepherds. Dave let me know it's the clutch on my CVT. Don't buy a Ford Focus.lol. Saved me $7,000. It's been a rough 2 years and I've been trying to fix front end issues and using friends and family to help. Had a family friend put on lower an arms and he didn't do it right. I ended up having my front passenger wheel break off the ball joint( I think that was the part name.lol) Budget towed me up there and Noel called me up to let me know I needed to replace parts on that side again. Well I'm car repair broke at this point and I'm using this vehicle to make deliveries for my job. They quote my friend one price before he made appointment then after he made one and brought it the shop it was a higher price and they told him they didnt have time to rebuild what needed to be rebuild. I would never do busy with this place ever. read more

Dave and his techs (especially Clarence) did an excellent job on rebuilding my transmission and repairing some serious oil leaks on my old Yukon. They got me a great deal on the oil leak repair, and were patient and courteous explaining things when I had any questions afterwards. Needed a transmission flush and my yearly (25,000 mile) oil change. I had called every shop under the sun asking if they would put my pure synthetic Amsoil 5w-30 engine oil and transmission fluid that I've been using for 20 years in my f-150. Everybody wanted to use their own oil....presumably so they can charge a premium on it.... I finally called Shepherd Transmission, and they did the job with my oil for a reasonable price, did the job well, and earned my repeat business. Well done guys! read more

Refused to even hook my car up for a diagnostic. Had an appointment several days out and they called back and canceled. Said they had 5 other cars to work on and that hooking it up to a scanner would take to long. They told me all it was gonna do is lead to more work. I told them I didn't want more work that I just wanted a diagnostic and they flat out refused and told me once again that it simply would just take to long to hook a computer up to it. I called and talked to them before bring my truck in for repair. I told them that the transmission had been rebuilt 3 months ago and that the only issue was that it would not downshift from 3rd to 2nd gear, otherwise everything was fine. I was informed that the charge would be $300.00 to remove the transmission and diagnose the problem. I told them that the transmission had been rebuilt recently, and it they stated that if it would require a rebuild I would have them put the transmission back together and reinstall in the truck. They told me the charge for that would be an additional $300.00. Well, NOT to my surprise they told me it needed a complete rebuild and the cost would be $1900.00! I instructed them to put the transmission back together and reinstall back into the truck and I would pay the agreed upon $600.00, $300.00 for removing and diagnosing and $300.00 to reinstall. They told me they could not put the transmission back together and reinstall. I had to pay $300.00 to get my truck back with the transmission in pieces laying in the bed of the truck. What a waste of time and money. I wish they would have done what was agreed upon before I brought the vehicle in. Very disappointed, I will not recommend them to anyone read more
