After a long day we had dinner at Sherpa's. It's a cozy place, with friendly service. We started with Chicken Momo's. We loved the Momo's. We then got Chicken Curry, Dhal Bhat and Garlic Naan. Both the Chicken Curry and Dhal Bhat were good.

As a vegetarian Boulderite, this spot is a go-to. Food is perfection (garlic naan with cheese is an absolute must!) and I've tried quite a bit of the menu. Love that the entrees come with both rice and lentil soup. Sitting outdoors is such a perfect vibe for either an adventurous weeknight or chill weekend dinner. Service is attentive but never feels like you are being rushed. Hanging out is encouraged! Appreciate the variety of beverages available, opted for a green tea but the house beer is also a favorite. Always here and will be back! :)

First time in Boulder and this historic building with nice patio dining and cool seating arrangements inside. Got seated for 5 with water and chip and dip right away. Nice Mo-mo plate with beef. Lamb curry, vegetables and yak stew , saag chicken. Good portion. Server forgot the saag chicken. Need reminder. Naan is really good. Lentils and stew are really light, not much taste. Yak is yak, really chewy. Chickens are bland and dry. Foods are 3 stars but ambience and services made up for that. Give it a try

I give this 5 stars because it was hard to find anything wrong with my meal or experience. The ambiance is very homey and welcoming. I enjoyed reading about all the news articles and accolades of the owner. The service was welcoming and attentive. No complaints here. The food was delicious as well. Everything was spiced perfectly. My favorite things were the curry chicken and the garlic naan. The Naan was so good! I also want to appreciate the value of the meal. I went during lunch and the meal felt properly priced and definitely makes me want to return. Props for that as well!

I came here on a Friday night with a party of 5. We sat outside (I think they were only seating outside that day) and it was a splendid time. The food was delicious, the service was great, and everyone had a lovely time. They have beautiful decor including maps of expeditions. I got their saag paneer and it was so yummy. It also came with a half cup of lentil soup. I'm usually not a soup fan at all but this one was great.

Very friendly and warm service. Food was good. We were a big group so for a variety off food. I would recommend the lamp curry. Chapati was good. The dumplings were just ok. Biryani lamb was good and I liked the Tibet noodles. Oh and the chicken tikka masala was good. The portions are pretty small especially for the price but I would try it out.

Came here for a group dinner on a Friday night! It was busy but we were still able to be seated right away. I really enjoyed the patio seating. Their chai is amazing so I highly recommend getting a cup to try. My boyfriend and I got one of their samplers which was fun to try a bit of everything. The portions are massive so you'll have left overs and it was good quality Indian food for Boulder. I wish the curry had a bit more flavor and spice though. Our food came decently fast but despite someone walking past our table 8 times, no one would pick up our dirty dishes or ask if we wanted boxes or whatnot.

Ambience: I would say if this restaurant was to be rated based on ambience I would rate it 5 OUT OF 5. Service: The staff was perfectly courteous when we walked in but I would say the service during our meal was pretty slow and bad. I wouldn't care usually about this but we were there for my mom's 74th birthday with my 7 year old, my dad, my wife, and my dad. We had to call them several times to get used plates from our appetizers out of the way. Me/wife and my parents were sharing a dish each and after I asked repeatedly to get our used app plates away they had to be told to get extra plates and bowls to share. I thought it could be due to them being short staffed, but I assure you this was not the case. A few times during our 1 hour and 20 min meal I saw at least one member of the wait staff sitting and relaxing on one table over. Food: I would say this is THE driver for my 3 out of 5 rating. The food was nothing to write home about. Here is what we got: APPETIZERS * Appetizer Platter: We ordered this thinking that it would be a nice balance - IT WAS NOT - there were two pieces of paneer, two slices of potatoes, and an ENTIRE plate of onion. The upside was that it was not bad if you dipped the fried pieces in the dip provided (without the dip the pieces had no taste). * Mo:Mo Appetizer: Because my mom and dad wanted veggie Momos we got that version. The veggie momos were tasty and the skin was not too thick. MAINS: * Thupka: My mom and dad shared a chicken Thupka and they said it was "good". * Tibetan Noodles: My wife and I got this dish to share. It was SO SALTY and doused with what tasted like generic curry paste you get in the super market...there was absolutely no taste in that dish except for it being so salty that we did NOT enjoy it . The chicken that was in there was not juicy and quite rubbery. If you order this dish, perhaps ask them to go easy with the salt. * Mo:Mo Entree: My son wanted to eat dumplings but these were pretty bad. The skin of the dumplings was very tough and way too thick. The chicken inside has NO taste except for a strong hint of ginger (I love ginger so that was the only positive here). We had to dip it in the sauce provided which was quite bland too. For reference, typical momos we are used to eating the skin is thinner and the filling has more taste. DESERT: * Mango kulfi: My parents wanted to share this - it looked okay. All in all, if you go to this restaurant, enjoy the ambience and customizing your dishes by asking questions as to what is in your dish. I tried to take pictures of the outside patio sitting area which is nicely decorated.

Good food at a good price. The lunch menu is only about $12 per item. Everyone was very friendly and the outdoor area was cute. My only concern is that the inside seating wasn't open even when it was in the 90s so we were dying of heat. They should open inside as well when it's too hot.

    Thukpa soup noodles with lamb

This Nepali restaurant is in a charming two story brick house in Boulder just a block from Pearl Street. I think that it's great that a top flight Sherpa athlete decided to move to one of the most mountainous regions in the US. I hiked to Everest Base Camp a couple years ago and I've been climbing Colorado Fourteeners recently, so I had to visit this place. The Thukpa noodle soup with lamb is nourishing goodness in a bowl. The noodles are thick and smooth almost like udon noodles. The orange broth is spicy with a mix of curry and chili spices. The soup is extremely hot in temperature, a perfect fit for cold Himalayan nights, and still nice even during the current heat wave here. But I also like ice cream in the winter. There's a solid mix of vegetables: cabbage, carrots, broccoli, peas, and spinach. There were also nice big chunks of lamb to round out this hearty meal. And after seeing all those yaks on the trail, I couldn't order this with yak. Right now, only the patio area is open. The staff takes your order using mobile payment devices.

We were seeing a show at CU and were looking at places to try in the area. We got street parking not too far away and walked over to the restaurant. When walking up - it is a converted house which was cozy. You walk into a bar area where it seemed as it was the family hangout. We were greeted right away and then seated right away. It was decently packed but they have a ton of seats in various rooms. There is a ton on the menu. Our server was a bit awkward but was quick to react to our needs. My fiancé had never really had Nepalese food and I've only really had momos. We were given this "bread" basket which was crackers with some dipping sauces. Very flavorful. We decided to start with some garlic naan. I ordered momos and did half vegetables and half chicken. My fiancé got the chili. Food came out pretty quickly and there was a TON. The garlic naan was delicious. My fiancé at his entire plate. I wasn't able to finish all the momos since it was huge. I really enjoyed the chicken one but the veggie one was not as good. This could've been better fried but I had opted for the steamed. All and all - it's a great experience. I liked that the menu explained what a Sherpa is and the history which is great to learn. Food is flavorful. Service was interesting to say the least.

We had our last group lunch here.

Plenty of vegetarian and meat options. Around lunch time the buffet well stocked and nothing is suffering from sitting in the steam table long. We have eaten here many times over the years and it seems consistently good. Some things are just so so but it's all a matter of taste and preference anyway. Chili chicken and potatoes and broccoli were stand outs today. Full of flavor. Freshly cooked and I left nothing behind. The naan is plentiful but one piece is enough. The samosas are pretty standard for every Indian restaurant on the planet. I love veg chow chow having had this on our Mount Everest base camp trek so many times. Love it! Service is ok. It's a buffet. They seat you and you dig in. We prefer to sit outside as it was hot and humid inside. Price is ok for Boulder and the current state of inflation and pricing of everything being stupid. This restaurant is huge and can seat every size group. We will be back.

Visited this location the other evening for dinner and overall enjoyed our meal. I'm from out of…read moretown and come from an area with a high Indian population and am absolutely spoiled with delicious authentic Indian food at home and I do have to admit this place isn't nearly as good as my local fare. We ordered the Aloo Gobi, a dish called "mushroom matter", basmati rice, "Indian style tea" which is just chai I don't know why they label it that way and a garlic naan. The aloo gobi was almost all cauliflower and lacked the brightness and salty sweetness I am used to, the mushroom dish also fell a bit flat although I've never seen this dish before so I have nothing to compare it to, the basmati rice was fairly short grained, not very fragrant and unspiced but the thing that got me was the crunchy toasted naan??! I was expecting your normal soft, pillowy, melt in your mouth steamy naan and I got what felt more like a crunchy pizza crust with no toppings, not that it was bad but it was wildly outside of what I was expecting and personally didn't like it, my daughter will eat any bread product and ate it instead. The service was incredibly nice, friendly, accommodating, and helpful, our food came quickly. I do wish they had some way of dealing with delivery drivers since they just loiter in the entry of the restaurant near the kitchen which happened to be right next to our booth and more than one large sweaty delivery driver was essentially leaning against my daughters side of the booth while waiting for pick up, kinda gross. They also need to replace their carpets and bench cushions but otherwise I loved the decor. Overall they need to step up their spice game, this is Indian food bring your A game and all other faults would be forgiven, except that crunchy naan. They also don't have Chana masala??!!? This is my go to and I've never seen this not offered at an Indian restaurant in my area. As a person spoiled by incredible Indian food this sadly doesn't hold up but it's good enough and better than other places we have tried in the area like Kathmandu II.
