I'm not sure what the parking issue is since they have a decent sized lot and it's never that busy that you can't find a spot. I go in no problem and this was during miserable spring five o clock traffic. I went in and started to peruse paint. This is where this place shines. Within a few moments of my arrival an employee came over and said hello and asked if I needed help. I said I was fine just looking for paint. Most people would have left it at that and said ok let me know if you need help. Not this guy ! He said well what are you painting ? I said my Living room. He asked what color I had and when I told him I wanted to change my very bright room he said to Me that the colors I had chosen were going to be too bright and showed me the ones that would be more muted. He also pointed out some Design brochures to see some color Scheme options. Wow. I work for a very customer oriented company and this is exactly how we are taught to " qualify " and "recommend " what they need. This man did just that. It was a short interaction but was enough to blow me away. I'm glad my dad insisted I go there and will continue to go there for my painting needs.

There's ample parking, but getting into the lot can be tricky on a weekend if you are unfamiliar with Mineral Spring Avenue. The store is very clean and well-stocked. The people there were very friendly and you can tell that they knew their paint. I also appreciate that the cashier did not try to oversell us; in fact, he talked us out of buying more! We originally thought we would need three cans for the kitchen, and he suggested we buy only two. Boy was he right! We ended up needing only one can, so three would have been overkill. The whole shopping experience was quick and easy. The paint was a bit pricey, even with a coupon, but it was worth it. The quality of the paint is much better and in a high-traffic area like the kitchen we both feel better knowing that we went with a more durable paint!

Why not ask that BEFORE you run my credit card??? On top of that they did not put the color on the lid, so I am sitting at my desk now nervous that it won't be the color listed. (Ben Moore paint is high quality, it's just a preference.) Keith, Pam, and the whole staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and above all: patient. I typically come in with at least 2 of my 4 kids in tow, and it doesn't even phase them that I have to stop mid-sentence to grab my kid who is trying to escape to play in traffic. I'm really impressed with Pam's color coordinating service-we wanted a big change this year when we had our exterior painted and she was up to the challenge of finding something eye catching and a little out of the ordinary while also matching 2 slightly different roof colors (we have a detached garage). She's honest about what doesn't work! She won't just go along for the sake of it-she really wants your house to look nice. I really appreciate that. Check out Village Paint next time you need some paint instead of the big box stores where the folks behind the counter may or may not have ever picked up a brush or a roller in their life.

He was patient with all my questions, for which he had detailed answers! Each time I've gone in, I've learned something and have been treated with kindness and respect. What's more, they carry a brand of window glazing you can't get anywhere else in Rhode Island. They can cut glass and fix your screens. I have found my new go-to for anything paint/stain related. I see many painters in their trucks going in and out of there as well, which is a sure sign of expertise and great service.
