I could not say whether Dr. Sheryl Clark is a good doctor following just one visit. But, what I can say with certainty, is that she is a terrible businesswoman. Dr. Clark managed to take what was virtually a bookkeeping error following a 10 minute appointment and turn it into two years of aggravation during which she made the worst business choices and behaved as badly as she possibly she could have and directed her staff to do the same. This culminated in my having to sue her in small claims court. I just received a check from Sheryl Clark in full settlement of my claim. If the doctor had just owned up to the mistakes made by her office and herself over the past two years, it wouldn't have had to come to this. Even if she were a capable doctor, I could hardly call her a decent human being. Would you believe the doctor actually tried to get me to sign a non-disclosure agreement just to avoid having me write a post like this. It would serve the doctor well to remember that New York is a city with an abundance of dermatologists - some of whom actually behave with integrity and treat their patients with respect. Dr. Clark has been my derm for over a year. Her team is incredibly personable and friendly. She is no nonsense, to the point and listens to what I tell her. Her team of assistants and receptionist are super friendly, and make an effort to know your name and learn more about you. She offers great in office treatments but is not overly pushy. Your skin, your terms. Overall, so happy she is my derm and I highly recommend her. read more

I saw the doctor in May while NYC was still on lockdown. Although I was the only patient in the office, they made me wait 40 minutes, and when I asked they told me that they were doing a super deep clean of the room before they saw me. See my photos for confirmation that no cleaning had been done in a very long time. Total squalor. After removing a mole, the nurse slapped on a bandaid, putting the adhesive directly onto the open wound. When I said something she adjusted it slightly, and gave me an attitude when I asked for a new bandaid. The doctor meanwhile was trying to sell me on her expensive products. I went to Dr. Clark twice for a cosmetic treatment . On my second visit two weeks after, she inflated the price of the treatment without any notice. I paid a ridiculous amount of money, and I didn't get the results I was looking for. Be wise!! read more

I've been going to Dr. Clark for years because I am extremely conscious about my skin, hair, nails etc.. Other dermatologists have disappointed me in the past and I've felt as if Dr. Clark has given me a plethora of options regarding my concerns. She will be sensitive to your issues and I've always felt open in asking her any type of question that comes to mind without me being worried about her reaction. She is extremely professional and has a nice/friendly staff. Dr. Clark will also give you a ton of options to fight aging, break outs and has helped a friend of mine with his hairloss and made it more manageable. Hairloss is one of her many specialties for both men and women. Give her a try - you will not be disappointed. read more

I've been to so many different dermatologists looking for answers to my skin issues (mainly cystic acne). I still remember in my first appointment, she asked me 'When do you need to be clear by?' and I thought 'When? I haven't been clear in 20 years and you think it's a matter of when?' Dr. Clark did not let me down - she didn't go through the standard treatments like most doctors do and found something that worked for me almost immediately. I have been going to Dr. Clark for over 20 years. I started to see her for medical procedures and I was very pleased by her professional demeanor and her attentiveness. She has always been very personable and takes extra time with her patients whenever it is necessary. About 10 years ago, I started to ask Dr. Clark for advice regarding wrinkles, aging skin and sun damage. She talked to me extensively regarding a range of options that are available, but has not been overly aggressive in making recommendations. I always feel that her patients' concerns and objectives are her first priority. After the procedures, she asks me if I feel okay and if I am pleased with the results. In addition, she keeps me apprised of new technologies as they come on the market. Her current staff is extremely polite and cordial, and they have helped me several times when I had paperwork problems with my insurance company. In brief, she is an excellent doctor who cares about her patients and takes extra time to address both their medical needs and their questions regarding cosmetic procedures. I wish 0 stars was an option... This was the worst experience ever. I got laser treatment on my face and I heard the girl getting taught how to use the machine in the other room... not comforting.. the worst pain ever and it was my 3rd treatment so I knew that was an unusual amount of pain. I paid 3000 cash upfront and then was charged 40 to my card for a co pay because Dr Clark popped her head in the room to ask how I was doing while getting the laser treatment from an inexperienced person!!!! If you do go at the very least dont pay upfront!!! When I called to ask about the charge and if I could be refunded they refused and were very rude. read more

I simply cannot be happier with Dr. Clark and her staff. I am a woman in my early 40's, so I take my skincare regimen seriously. Helping solve my ongoing adult acne issue is one example: She helped me overcome the 10-year issue with incredible success. (I had been in the care of multiple doctors and tried several skincare regimens to remedy the situation, to no avail.) Pretty good doc. Kindof annoying that she wouldn't talk to me about mild acne during a full body skin cancer check. She wanted me to come back for another appointment. I bought the benzol peroxide wash from her office and was very happy with it. When I came back for my second appointment she didn't remember me at all even though I was there 2 weeks before. This practice is very much about the money & always suggesting additional procedures or products sold in the office. The wait is usually long-approx 30 min or more. I'm mixed on her results. The botox never seems to do much, tho she has increased the amount (without my knowledge & approval). I always wonder if it's diluted?? And the price is always increasing. I've been meaning to go to the dermatologist for awhile now, I hadn't been in years. I just went to get a check up to make sure everything was ok and to see if there was anything in particular I should be doing to reduce fine lines and wrinkles (what girl doesn't worry about this). Dr. Clark was very nice and thorough. She ended up doing a skin biopsy on an area she was concerned about. She was very gentle and made me feel very comfortable during the procedure. I would highly recommend her. She is going to have a "open house" (call to get date) where you can ask any questions you may have. read more

First visit over one year ago, second and final visit today, 7/15/14. There is a reason for this. During the first appointment she and her staff were rushed, she wouldn't answer all of my questions--appointments cover one patient issue and only one patient issue, i.e., a body check of moles and freckles or an acne issue/concern but not both, that requires a second appointment. For both appointments I was shown to a patient room 15-20 minutes after the scheduled appointment time and waited a further 10 minutes to be seen by Dr Clark. The receptionist, Mickey, was less than courteous both over the phone and in person. Actually said to me, "if you hadn't interrupted me..." during a phone call. Rude and inappropriate. During my second, and final, appointment Dr Clark mentioned that changes to my diet would ease my symptoms and "help with the fat around [my] stomach". I found the comment about my weight tactless. Dr Clark proved marginally competent in her abilities to diagnose and recommend treatment but I found her "bedside manner" and the manner of her staff not worth another visit. read more

Three months ago I was referred to Dr Sheryl Clark for I had a double chin that caused me to feel aged and unattractive. I was referred by a friend who was very happy with her treatment with Dr Clark. After a consultation, Dr Clark made me feel confident that the treatment , Kybella , will be successful for my issue. Dr Clark was gentle, friendly, professional . I was injected with several shots under my chin, I felt NOTHING. I was shocked when the doctor stated the procedure was over, I felt nothing. Totally amazing . Three months later, I no longer have a double chin , nothing I continuously look in the mirror in amazement Amazing , I consistently think how happy I feel and how much better I look. I am not sure what it is with New York dermatologists, but I have had no luck so far finding a decent one in the Upper East Side area! I saw amazing ones in Miami and was very happy with their knowledge and professionalism for many years. I was excited to visit Dr. Clark, as I had read some good reviews on Yelp. However, I was prescribed a gel for something that (a) they told me would be short-term use and a permanent solution, and (b) was a retinoid gel, which I had mentioned during my initial exam with the assistant that I had a serious reaction to this ingredient in the past. After I had ordered this expensive gel through my insurance company and it arrived, I discovered that it will need to be used continuously. It is not a short-term solution and it is a retinoid, which I am extremely sensitive to. The other reason I came in was to have a small benign lump on my leg looked at and to ask if it could be removed. It had previously been excised in the last city I lived in. Dr. Clark told me they would retrieve my medical records from my previous doctor and would let me know the diagnostic code, so that I could contact my insurance company to find out if I had coverage. I never heard back from the Dr. about whether they had received the old records, so I contacted them a few times. Now, they are telling me they have received the records and that I need to make an appointment to have another conversation with the Dr., as she needs to look at it again. I explained that she just recently looked at it and I wasn't warned that I would need to come back several times. They also refused to give me the code to check with my insurance. After the second appointment, I would have to come back a THIRD time if she decides to perform the excision or choose another treatment plan. What could a treatment plan possibly be for this? It is usually very straightforward. Sounds to me like a clear case of making unnecessary additional claims on my insurance company. This is why our premiums are so high! In the past, I have never had to keep coming back to the dermatologist to have minor excisions. I also found Dr. Clark to be lacking in bedside manner, fairly cold and condescending. Just my two cents, but I will be asking friends for recommendations for dermatologists they trust and who will not keep dragging me back to their office unnecessarily. read more

I went to get a coolsculpting for my stomach with a voucher I bought for 800. Although everyone was nice- I don't think the procedure did anything- I mean nothing. I did however experience a lot of pain afterwards- so much more than I was told. We had to start the machine twice because it was soooooo painful. The doc gave me I think a valum but I didn't do much. It was worse than surgeries I have had. For almost a month I was in pain- numb and anything that touched my stomach hurt- even clothes. The doctor was nice enough to call back when I left a message and offered to give me neurontin. I really don't want to take a neurologic med. Although I think the office staff and docteor were nice and professional- I don't recommend the coolsculpt for the pain I experienced and lack of results. read more

I've been to some nice dermatologists over the years, but Dr. Clark is hands down the most thorough I've ever been to. She was very attentive and informative, and was very open about what treatment options for post-surgical scars and stretch-marks would or might not be covered by my insurance- no sneaky prescriptions that might cost you by surprise! She made some suggestions for over-the-counter products that would be good for my every day use and gave me a sample of the prescription she gave me. Dr. Sheryl Clark has been my dermatologist for many, many years. I have referred four people to her and they have returned to her multiple times. Dr. Clark is a very patient, and thorough dermatologist. She takes her time with each patient and doesn't just rush you out of the room with a prescription. First off, I want to thank Dr. Clark and team for working together to bring my cystic acne down and bringing my self-esteem back. 3 years ago, I came to Dr. Clark after trying everything in the book. She prescribed me something that I soon called a miracle. As I was finally clearing up, I decided to invest in a laser treatment she highly recommended from the beginning that would help with scarring and mainly prevent new cysts from forming. During the 6 treatments (which was supposed to be enough) and lots of $$ money later, I felt grateful, hopeful, and started to see a change in my skin. Now, about 6 months post treatment, my cystic acne came back in full swing. I wish the doctor explained earlier, rather than on my 6th treatment to let me know that the chin is a "stubborn area" and would near more treatments. I would have allocated the funds towards my chin rather than areas where I don't normally break out. It made me feel as if I was being played and the only way to fix my chin was to dish out more money that I didn't have. Dr. Clark and team, if there is anything you can do, please let me know.
