We did the Bite30 menu and between the 2 of us we had the deep fried beef dumplings, the buldak (spicy chicken), the Korean bbq combo, beef tongue, and for dessert we had the bungeopang and the hotteok. Everything was so delicious! Our waiter, Andy, was really really sweet and basically cooked the first tray of bbq for us and told us how he likes to use the banchan. He and my husband, who is Spanish, chatted about struggling to eat their culture's food growing up, which made me feel a little better about ordering my kid's chicken nuggets. My Korean mother in law recommended this spot after visiting their previous location. Then they became Michelin recommended 3 years in a row, so obviously I had to check it out. My favorite meal of all time is Bibim Naengmyeon. I specifically came to try theirs out. I've had it at many restaurants, and have my own preferences on it. I'm unsure the official way it should be made or prepared, so this is only based off my preference. Theirs was chilly but not cold. For example, the apple slices were room temp, but the bowl was cold to touch. It didn't have ice in it, and the noodles were very chewy like japchae. So chewy that it was difficult to bite. They did provide scissors for this reason and the waitress cut it up a bit at the table before serving. The taste was fabulous. The classic flavor we know and love. I will definitely order it again even though it doesn't fully meet my personal preferences of ice and less chewy noodles. My table also got the dumplings and the dumpling ramen. Both were delicious. The lack of a star is for the service and the smell of the place. The smell wasn't of pleasant food, more like dirty dish water. I'm hoping this was a fluke. The service was dismissive, but efficient. I was ignored to my face, but I'm not too upset because everything came out fast and fine. I know this might bothers others though. read more

Finally got around to trying this place and now I understand why so many people recommend it when talking about Korean food in Orlando. Everything tasted incredibly authentic and fresh, and the quality of the food stood out immediately. The banchan kept coming out fresh, the meats were perfectly marinated, and grilling everything right at the table made the whole experience even better. The kalbi and bulgogi were both amazing, and the portions were actually really generous for the price. The atmosphere has that classic Korean BBQ feel without trying too hard, and the service was honestly one of the best parts. Staff was super friendly, helpful, and always checking in without being overbearing. You can tell this place has been around for a reason. It feels more like a real family-run restaurant than some trendy chain trying to copy the experience. Definitely one of the top Korean restaurants in Orlando and easily a place I'd bring friends or family to when they want genuinely good Korean BBQ. This used to be our favorite spot for Korean food. We haven't been back in a while since the remodeling (I know it's been quite some time). It doesn't taste as authentic as it used to be anymore. We ordered the seafood pancake, pork belly and the beef short ribs. The seafood pancake was pretty good, but it's mostly imitation crab in it. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love Korean Food. My friend wanted to celebrate her birthday and picked Shin Jung and I am glad I was able to attend. Everything from start to finish was perfect. To start I ordered the Jumuk Bap which basically is a rice ball with seaweed, tuna and a dash of peanut oil. After a demo from the server on how to roll the rice into a ball we were all ready dig in. This dish is simple yet very tasty. My entree was my usual, dolsot bibimbap and as usual I was blown away. The beef was tender, the mixed veggies with the gochujang were tasty and perfect! I also tried the ginger cinnamon tea and it was good. Great restaurant, great staff and delicious food. Me and my friend came to eat at Shin Jung Korean restaurant. The restaurant is small and parking is a little tight here. The staff are really friendly and helpful explaining the menu. We ordered Korean barbecue for two and it came with an assortment of meats and one stew. We got the Soon Tofu stew it was amazing! We also got their beef dumplings and you can tell that they are handmade. I loved the texture of the dumpling wrapper and the filling was really good. We also got the spicy rice cakes and they were really yummy! The quality of the meats here were great and better than the all you can eat places. I remember when Shin Jung with literally the only Korean restaurant in the area. And even now, with other competitors entering the scene, Shin Jung is a popular spot that has quality meat and popular Korean dishes. They don't do AYCE here -- instead, they specialize in portioned meal sets for groups of people. We like getting the For 2 sets and always leave full. The BBQ here is good, but I think their soondubu could use more tofu; my portion was a little skimpy (the soup tasted great though). The restaurant is a little small, but it's updated and clean. For an easygoing night out with friends, we hopped around starting with Shin Jung for dinner. After passing for years, I was surprised to find there was a lot more seating than I expected! They do not typically take reservations so it is first come first serve but don't let this deter you from visiting. The service is fantastic (as expected, considering it met Michelin approval) and the kitchen is very efficient. We started with a kimchi pancake and then went separate ways for dinner. I went with Dolsot (you can order hot or cold, I went hot which is the recommend for those who enjoy getting some crispy rice). Everything was incredibly flavorful and as someone not the best with spice I had no difficulty enjoying myself. The team does their best to ensure you are enjoying your meal and will make adjustments to best suit your spice levels while offering solid recommendations. The pricing was also reasonable, while offering a nice environment that felt intimate while not cluttered. Our server was a DELIGHT, super knowledgeable on which cuts of meat and side dishes (banchan) were suitable for me. We went with the galbi & brisket and we were full by the end. We also ordered soju, beer, and makgeolli to enjoy. Other servers were also friendly and although we were the last table at the restaurant, they never kicked us out. It was my first time back in after the restaurant remodeled. The service was great. The portions did seem small based on the price for soup $16 and it was in the regular black container. I enjoyed the japchae. You were able to cook your own kalbi but I chose to have it cooked for me. I am a fan of Korean cuisine so I decided to try this restaurant today before catching a flight back home, and I am sure glad that I did! Soon Tofu Seafood Stew (Haemul Sundubu Jjigae I think is the name) is one of my all time favorite Korean dishes so I tend to order it often. The Seafood Soon Tofu Stew I had today was hands down THE BEST I have ever had! The flavor with the seafood broth was perfect imho. The Banchan were plentiful and delicious. The kimchi was the perfect crunch and spice level. The radish kimchi also was delightful and I had two portions of the pickled radish. Overall it was pretty good. I've been excited to come here for a while so this was our first magical dining stop. They are offering a $40 meal and you get to try a few items. This place isn't very big, but we went on Wednesday and were able to be seated immediately. the restaurant did fill up pretty quickly as the night progressed. The meal includes your choice of appetizer, meat entrée, and dessert. I had the Goon Mandu (dumpling), Kalbi Beef Short Rib, and Hotteok (stuffed pancake). Everything I tried was delicious, but I was a little surprised by the portion size which I did chop it up to being a deal. The short rib was sooo good no notes on the flavor. I surprising really like the pancake dessert. It reminded of school cinnamon toast but fancier (iykyk). Looking through other pictures, it seems like the single portion size is always a concern in relation to the value. The service wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. A little slow, but we didn't have any issues. There are a lot of Korean restaurants in Orlando and overall I do think the price point here is quite a bit higher for what you get and the quality doesn't seem much different than other places I've visited but I do wanna play the food is this quality well made and delicious. The food was okay in my opinion. I think it is a decent choice for kbbq considering the area because there wasnt a lot of korean food. I think the only downside is that most of the meat choices were marinted and I am not really a huge fan of marinated meat. I ordered pork and beef two serving set. Each order comes with 2 bowls of rice, (kimchi, doenjang, or dolsot bibimbap), and the meats ofc. It was a hefty amount even for a family of 4 you will be definitely full afterwards. The service was probably the best cause the waitress was super attentive and nice. Table space can be small but its a cozy in the way that the kimchi stew and bibimbap reminded me of something my grandmother would make. This spot reminds me of my korean mom and pop spot on the west coast. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The simple decor and open spacing was perfect. The food was amazinging to me. Definitely was a lot of food. I have planned on what to get next time. I was stuffed like a piggy. My top favorite items were the soon tofu stew with beef bulgogi and the teok-bokki. We decided to try this place as a friend mentioned bite30 and she wanted to try the Korean bbq. It was an experience for sure. It's a small little hole in the wall. We honestly didn't know it was a cook yourself at the table style restaurant. We had a few hiccups getting started but ended up doing ok. For the first course, I got the Buldaq which is Korean spicy chicken with mozzarella. It was actually a soup and had a weird flavor to it. I wish I'd gotten the dumplings instead. The 2nd course, I got the Korean bbq beef combo which was brisket and beef bulgogi. The brisket was good. The beef bulgogi tasted like bacon. Which is weird as I'm thinking, am I eating pork? The last course was the hotteok. It's a Korean dessert consisting of a pancake filled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts. I really enjoyed the desert. This is our go-to place for dolsot/bibimbap. The flavors are great. The servers are always friendly and willing to explain different things on the menu. I love the cinnamon drink. I've been to quite a few Korean BBQ places, and this place does decently. The meat is quality, and they offered a good amount of side dishes alongside. The kimchi is not bad. When it comes to KBBQ, I'm a simple girl who wants unseasoned, basic meats like brisket and pork belly so that I can enjoy the flavors of the sides. I didn't really care for all of the marinated options (they felt a bit underwhelming). I wish they had a combo option with only the "basic" cuts. However, the soon dubu stew was amazing. It had the perfect mix of spice and savoriness and it complemented the meat so well. I wish I had gotten my own instead of sharing it. Frankly, this place should rebrand to a tofu house. I truly enjoyed Shin Jung! It was super clean inside and didn't smell super strong like most kbbq places. The food was great and all of the meats we picked had great amount of taste. We payed about $50-$60 a person and had so much food including an appetizer sample and bibimbab to share. Everyone left full and satisfied with leftovers! Service was great and attentive. The server recommended ways to eat the meat and even brought out more pairings as we ran out. I think it was one of my favorite kbbq experiences to be honest. If you don't like someone hover though you may not enjoy that. Anyways, they are a part of bite 30 so I actually plan on returning again soon! read more

They do a 4 person KBBQ for $80 (and an up charge for "better" meats). This is a great deal if you go with 4 ppl (you can go with less) since you get a choice of teobokki or Mandu; choice between stew and bibimbap/dolsot; choice of 3 marinated meats; choice of 1 unmarinated meat or veggie; and unlimited banchan. We were really excited to dine at Shin Jung, especially knowing that it has been recognized in the Michelin Guide three times. Food: The banchan and salad were excellent--fresh, distinct in flavor, and well-prepared. The meat was also delicious and marinated perfectly. Personally, I enjoy my meat a bit more charred, but I felt that the staff did not appreciate us grilling it that way. At one point, they even turned off our grill, though our meat was still actively cooking, not burnt. Service: One moment that stood out was when I was cutting the raw kalbi with scissors. A waitress tapped my arm and told me I was cutting it incorrectly. While I understood her intention and why she corrected me, I didn't appreciate being touched in the process, as it felt a little too strong. I've been to many other Korean BBQ spots and I'm usually the main one grilling in friend groups, but I've never had staff seem annoyed or frustrated with the way I grill or cut the meat until this visit. Overall: The food was very good, and it's clear the restaurant maintains a high standard of quality. That said, I did feel like some of the ways we enjoyed our meal may have unintentionally annoyed the staff. Seeing it in the Michelin Guide, walking past it, I've had many opportunities to go here and somehow I have always ended up somewhere else. I am so shocked it took so long until I finally tried this amazing restaurant. It's on the Michelin guide for a reason. It's good. My friend and I both agreed it looked cozy and has an intimate air to it. I don't know if it was because this particular day I visited that it was freezing in Orlando but the restaurant was rather cold so plan to bring a jacket. We did not get Kbbq and neither did anyone else in the restaurant at the time. So our clothes were saved. I ordered a beef soondubu which was DELICIOUS. I loved every part of it. The quality of the beef was delicious as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it warmed me up perfectly. My friend ordered the one of the cold noodles which I NEED to get next time. I tried some and it was delicious as well. Seriously I loved almost everything I got from this place. I ordered fried dumplings (beef) and I wasn't a big fan of them but they were hot and crispy. One of the most authentic Korean restaurants in Orlando, Shin Jung is also recognized on the Michelin Guide. It's a small unassuming restaurant on East Colonial. But as soon as you walk in you can tell that you'll be in for a treat. I mean you know it's legit when they have the metal spoon and chopstick set. The space is warm and welcoming and everything is meticulously clean and organized. Even the bathroom is well maintained. We came mid-afternoon on a weekday and were greeted and seated immediately. Their menu has a wide variety of options, not just bbq. But the fact that they offer other traditional Korean dishes you can't really find anywhere else is what personally drew me to visit in the first place. Since we wanted to try lots of things, in addition to an order of bulgogi, we got the haemul pajeon, tteokbokki, and mulnaengmyeon. Plus the hotteok for dessert. The bulgogi order came with a serving of rice and salad and a ton of banchan. Again, you can tell it's legit just from the banchan they gave, cucumber and radish kimchi in addition to the cabbage kimchi, plus pickled radish and mashed potato. All the food tasted great, I especially liked the pajeon. The hotteok, interestingly served with ice cream, was amazing and took me back to the streets of Myeongdong. The service here was spectacular, our waitress took the time to introduce all the banchan and answered our questions thoroughly. Kimchi pajang was burnt and the Goon Mandu apparently wasn't fried in sesame seed oil according into my Korean mom. She told me that she used to eat here often before the fire. I don't know what the normal rate for Korean barbecues are but for our meal I paid 165 just for the barbecue portion. We also got the crab Rangoon and a bunch of delicious sides. I want to see the crab Rangoon alone is the best that I've ever had hands-down it wasn't greasy tasting. It was very light delicious a great filling. The best part of the Korean barbecue to be was the beef. It literally tasted amazing the flavor, the tenderness, hands-down, the best that I've ever had second was the pork and the chicken was good as well loved the kimchi and the pickled radishes, the service was amazing. Our waitress explained the menu and helped us with some good selections the whole vibe/ambience was very nice and laid-back all in all very good and I would return. Honestly, Shin Jung is surprisingly not busy for a Michelin Star restaurant! My table of 6 was seated pretty immediately and the servers were amazing. Literally so friendly and so attentive. The barbecue part of the meal was alright. The meat was good quality, but it's quite expensive for the amount you get. And I wish they had smoke vents because all of it was just blowing in our faces the whole time. They're also not able to take the grills out so when we were done grilling, it continued to just sit there smoking in front of us. The tofu stews and udon were really yummy though. I like how the udon still comes with rice, despite already coming with the noodles. The broths were really flavorful and they don't skimp on the seafood! read more
