We came across here and thankfully, we were able to make reservations a couple days before. I definitely recommend you doing this because it got crowded pretty quick. It seems to be very popular and I can see why. Ambience place was awesome and the staff was not only professional and friendly, but also really safe. We got our temperature taken before being seated and they look like they took the necessary precautions to stay open. Parking: It appears to be only paid parking. At the same time, I had no difficulty find a spot and this was during dinner time on Saturday. I think that is a huge plus. Worth: 100% worth visiting and trying out their food! We start off with the Tako Yaki (which was my absolute favorite!) Just be sure you let it cool down for a second because it was tremendously hot, but sooooo delicious! We then ordered a couple alcoholic beverages (lychee martini and matcha drink). The drinks were pretty decent. However, it did throw me off that the match drink was served hot. As for ramen, I ordered the Black Garlic Tonkatsu (would recommend!). Finally for dessert, we had that matcha cheesecake. Alright, this is quite literally one of (if not, it's THE) best ramen spot(s) I've ever been to (including places I've been to in NYC). The black garlic tonkatsu was absolutely amazing -- the broth was rich and creamy but wasn't too overwhelming. And was very reasonably priced (cheaper than most other ramen spots). My friend ordered one of the vegetarian ramen options, which he said was amazing and it's hard to come by ramen places that actually have good vegetarian options. This is a solid ramen joint in Bridgeport. It's nice to have a reliable place nearby. I've eaten here a couple times, but this review gets docked a star for the long delay. We ordered our food at 6:50 PM, and at 7:30 PM we are wondering where our food is. Yes the restaurant had a large party, but the restaurant was probably 75% full. Some of the tables just had patrons chilling, reading books, and using laptops. When we asked, they did check but the food took another 10 minutes to arrive. We just ordered ramen, I'm not sure if the noodles needed to be rolled out of the dough but yikes. I still gave them a decent tip though. The layout is nice and comfortable, service was decent besides the wait. The food itself was tasty and plentiful. The match noodles have the same great consistency as their regular noodles, with just a slight matcha aftertaste. Picked up some ramen and chicken karaage to go the other night. I had the Black Garlic Tonkotsu and it was great. The broth was creamy and rich, not tangy or spicy. The chashu was good, a little fatty, but good portion (2 pieces). The other toppings weren't as prominent, so you might consider adding extra bamboo shoots or mushroom, if you really like those. My boyfriend had the Sapporo Spicy Miso. It rich and had a good amount of spiciness. The corn added a nice sweetness on the occasional bite. Both ramen dishes came with a good portion of noodles, so there was no need for extra noodles. If you are a hungry person or just someone who eats a lot, I'd add meat or get an appetizer though. The chicken karaage was a nice appetizer/ side dish. It wasn't a large portion, so it wouldn't be a sufficient main course. The breading had good flavor and I'd get it again. After an unsatisfying dinner in Chinatown, my brothers and I came here for a 2nd dinner/4th meal past midnight. We all ordered ramen--2 of the black garlic tonkotsu (one spicy and one mild w/ extra chashu pork) and a sapporo spicy miso. The broth had some depth and was not too salty, the noodles were al dente, and the pork was tender and fatty. I just had a bit of an issue with the service. Since we were the only people there, I thought everything would be lightning speed, but sadly it was the opposite. From placing our order, getting our order and then receiving our check--it was all at a glacial pace. And when we got our orders, there was a mix-up, with the extra chashu pork ending up on the spicy black garlic ramen instead of the mild one. When I brought it up to the server, he offered to transfer the pork to the other bowl right at our table, which I found odd. There was also no apology until the 2nd time I brought it up, as the server asked for feedback after we took care of the check. We were given a punch card to remedy the situation? I appreciate the additions they add in like half a shoyu egg and the sliced wood ears add a nice crunch! 2 bowls for $28 including tax, can't beat it. The Chicken Kaarage was very juicy, perfectly flavored, and well fried! It wasn't oily at all, the outer breading was very delicious and the inner meat was dark meat! The Tamagoyaki is a rolled omelette where the egg is mixed with sweet sake or mirin. The egg was fluffy and sweet, but it lacked any other flavor. Pass for next time. Both of the noodles for the ramen were perfect. The soups for both were yummy but lacked a deeper flavor. The Tonkotsu broth was not thick and creamy like other places. Amazing ramen place located right on the main Halsted strip of Bridgeport; normally there is just San Jose for late night drunk food, but this is a worthy new addition. Not only does it serve good, but also serves alcohol late, the only restaurant in the area that I know that does it. I've gotten several small dishes over the past few months, can't remember them all but I know I've gotten calamari, grouper, wings, sardines, tako sausages, ebi-yaki, and have tried a few different ramen bowls. My husband and I have lived in Bridgeport for a combined total of 3 years, and we just visited this place for the first time a couple of months ago (I don't know how we hadn't been there before)! This place was hands down amazing. I had the fried chicken curry ramen, and my husband had something that was a little bit more spicy. The ramen was absolutely incredible. I also had a drink, sex on the beach. At first I thought it was kind of weird that they had drinks with ramen, but when I had it together, they actually complemented each other very well! So I along with two of my other friends came in because we was on the way to my condo when we rode past this place . We stopped walked in and only had to wait like 10 minutes . We sat down and was able to order remotely. We then met a young lady by the name of LULU I hope im spelling it correctly. She provided some of the best fast casual service I've received in years. Never before have I felt so important in a room full of people . She was very attentive which was a shock because it was so busy but she came over . Decided to try this place and possible a fluke, the interior was nicely decorated and clean. I ordered two ramen noodles to start off with and potato salad. They came back and told me the potato salad was no more and white ramen was out and the noodle chooses where green ramen or udon, so I took one of each. Came fairly quick with half the tables full, the bowls came and fairly small amount of food to price. I got up and ordered another bowl of ramen as we started to eat and hoping the third bowl of ramen will come while we ate. We waited and waited after all two bowls were eaten and still waiting, I decided to ask about the third bowl and they said, they forgot to order it. Adorable Ramen house. The interior is small with strung lanterns. There's even a little, curtained-off, semi-private nook where you can sit on the floor and eat. We appreciated that they were open late--2:00am most nights. Everyone working here is very sweet and polite. We had a large group and they did the best they could to accommodate us. A few ended up waiting awhile for their meals. Sadly, one couple did not get their meals and, though the restaurant did offer to put in their food order, just decided to go without since it was getting late. It was explained that they are not used to such large groups. We had 18. We had several appetizers--edamame, satsuma imo, pickled cucumber salad and sardines. The edamame was perfectly good, salted and simple. The satsuma imo was supposed to be chilled but it was actually the exact opposite. It was a combo of bite-sized pieces of purple, red and yellow yam drizzled with something sweet and sprinkled with sesame seeds. It was good and I liked it hot, actually. Just thought it was funny that it was served the exact opposite of what the menu said. I ate it and enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the slightly spicy cucumber salad. The sardines, which were plentiful, were as to be expected-- a little bowl filled with teeny, tiny, chewy, salty, fishy fish. As for the ramen, I had the black tonkusu ramen with matcha noodles. The broth, while not incredibly complex, was rich and garlicky. The matcha noodles stayed chewy and firm. Not crazy about the pork belly which was a bit too fatty for me. Most in the group seemed to enjoy their ramen. I like that it has no MSG. Interesting that they serve alcohol - there were a few, fun cocktails-- but it's also BYOB. We brought some wine and they graciously brought us all glasses.
