Gabby Gabby Gabby the worst ****** manager I've seen at any restaurant in my life. The only reason this post has 3 stars is due to the phenomenon waitress Payton that took care of us. God forbid you show up at 4:45pm and there are only 6 patrons in the building. Gabby will come to kick you out of your table because you're waiting on 2 more people and it's "Crawfish Night" (Tuesday-Saturday is crawfish night) and they don't seat incomplete parties. We made up more than half the people in the whole building and spent $500 on drinks while we waited for 6:00 to hit so we could have crawfish please only come to this restaurant if your entire fucken party is here. Was asked if wanted to sit inside or outside. Chose to sit on patio. We were followed out by a server. 4 servers walked out to take care of other patrons on the patio, including a table right in front of where we were sitting. Sat for over 15 mins wo being greated, brought water or asked for drink order or even bringing menus. We were totally forgotten. We got up to leave and I asked for a manager. Told manager what happened and got what I feel was a very insincere apology and an offer to be taken care of by manager who was obviously on her way out. I am a diabetic and needed to eat. I will not go back. I have never been blatantly ignored after sitting at a restaurant. Too bad too bc they have amazing food. I have reached out for the owners to respond and nothing. The crab cakes and gumbo were so tasty as was the blackberry margarita. The best part of the experience was our server, Hope. She was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. It doesn't get any better than that. read more

The service is friendly and their concept is executed well. I found the food to be a little spicy for my liking and most of the menu is fried. Hot food came out steaming out and was well seasoned. In tried this place for the 1st time this week and I more than disappointed. The peel and eat shrimp app was plenty hot, but sure a pain to peel. More so than other places. The shrimp basket had only 5 shrimp and they were smaller than what you get at HEB. I expected better for $10.95. read more

I came to this place for crawfish, so my review is purely about crawfish (and crawfish etouffee), may not applicable for other dishes. It is a pretty busy place during crawfish season. Me and my friends has been waiting for about 15-20 mins to get a table. Crawfish requires minimum 2lbs purchases and the price is for sure higher than the average crawfish price of college station. The crawfishes are spicy (in a good way) and I don't think there is an extra price added for extra potatoes and corns. The potatoes are not flavored very well tho. I like the crawfish etouffee, tho i asked for "cup" size and they gave me "bowl" size. I would say this is for sure "my cup of etouffee", though I'm not 100% pure if the etouffee tastes authentic or not. The service here is good. They gave me the wrong size etouffee, but I really understand the situation. It's loud, so it's hard to hear clearly. Boudin was really good and cooked well but the étouffée was the biggest let down it felt like they just dumped an entire tomato purée into the étouffée and expected it to taste good. Every bite had a different flavor making it unbearable by the half way mark having me leaving it unfinished( they recommend you get the cup which makes me wonder if this is the reason why)! It looks like a boat! And has seafood! I've driven by this place more times than I can count and have been wanting to stop by to see if they talk like pirates when they take your order. Spoiler: they don't, but I would gladly welcome it in the future. I went on Wednesday for the Fish Tacos special for only $2.00 per taco. Yes, you could probably find a cheaper fish taco at a hole in the wall in Bryan but I bet it won't be as fresh as they are here. My first thought when entering the restaurant (coming aboard?) was that this place is smaller than it looks from the outside. We sat in the covered outdoor area in the sun which was nice. The outdoor seating is easily double what they have indoors. There was an additional deck seating but it was closed due to it being winter/cold outside. I would like to see the outdoor decks named, for example, I could have eaten on the poop deck ( I love nautical themes). We were greeted by 3 servers upon entering and immediately seated. Everyone was friendly and they even had sweet tea. I had two fried and one grilled fish taco. They will bring out their Shipwreck house sauce with your meal if you ask. The fish was very fresh and the sauce added to the overall flavor. Another big plus was the napkins on every table - fish tacos tend to get messy. I preferred the fried but in general I prefer most of my food fried. They both taste very fresh and not "fishy/muddy." I would definitely recommend visiting Shipwreck Grill on the days that they have specials. Mondays are Oysters, Tuesdays steak, and Wednesdays fish tacos. I'm not sure about other days. The price to food ratio is a little high otherwise. For two fish tacos + black beans would have cost $7.45, instead with the special I had 3 for $6. Not a bad deal at all. I'll be sure to come back here in the future to try out their Po' Boys and fried Catfish. If you want fresh seafood and to support a local business, try out Shipwreck Grill. read more

This is a good place for some average food. We had the platter with oysters and crawfish, which was underwhelming but it fills you up. It's basically several fried pieces of seafood on a huge bed of fries. The shipwreck sangria was too watery and not very good. However, the seafood gumbo was delicious. And I also recommend getting the fresh raw oysters. The buffalo crawfish was okay, not an amazing dish. Also, customer service was incredible. Our waitress took time to answer all of our questions about the food, and she was very friendly and kind. The food was delivered quickly which was nice. Doesn't look like much from the outside needs a lot of tlc but this place is most definitely shockingly good I had the oysters and my boyfriend had the fish both were phenomenal!! That was not gumbo . I got the big bowl because it was a cold day to warm me up. Big bowl comes out with two cups of brown rice dumped in the middle small portion of gumbo six shrimp no okra several tomatoes and they said fish but I didn't see or taste any. The roux was white and creamy. Spices tasted like the cook accidentally let the top come off a whole Tony's spice container. Set my lips on fire. I told the waitress I didn't like it after three bites though she was sweet she did not offer to replace the food. Only to sell me more. A roux is dark brown and thin and doesn't look like chicken fried steak gravy . The roux should be chock full of vegetables and seafood and rice served on the side not dumped in the middle to make the portion look bigger. I went ahead and ate whatever that was. Went straight home and grabbed my tums. Please get a new recipe and put enough of the right ingredients in it to make it worth ten ninety five plus tip. read more

They have a pretty extensive seafood selection, but being something of a seafood snob, I avoid those entrees, Gulf waters being what they are. So I can say the blackened burger is great, seasoned perfectly, and frickin massive. My son and I had lunch at the Shipwreck Grill in Bryan, Texas while visiting Texas ATM last weekend. I had the Cajun Crawfish tacos and my son had fish and chips. Both lunch items were outstanding! Fantastic beer selection and we met the owners who were great people! They also own "Amico Nave" across the street from the Shipwreck and we ate there that night. The food and service at Amico Nave were excellent and the owners sat with us and gave us the full "pitch" on ATM. Can't wait to go back to both!! Highly recommend! read more

But it's sooo good it has black beans and my hunny hates black beans and was hesitant to try my salad and he tried it and was surprised that he loved it. The food was very good! The service was good too. What I did not like was the rickety ramp I suppose was intended for use by handicapped people. My sister and I dined at Shipwreck Grill a couple of months ago. We would love to go back, but it was very difficult to deal with the ramp. I come here for my fried fish/french fries fix. Their boat platter comes with a bunch of whatever seafood you order. The fried fish is always perfectly crispy, and no sign of grease or oil to be had. The hush puppies are standard fare, and the french fries are pretty much what you'd expect. For around $15, the platter hits all the notes. Their burgers are amazing. Do yourself a favor and order the one with the crawfish on it. The meat is grilled well and the flavor is to die for. The étouffée is great. Really deep flavor, and some good chewy toasted french bread pieces. Good amount of meat and seafood in this as well. The only thing that I've had here that hasn't been all that great was the gumbo. Pretty good amount and the flavor is good, but it's just mushy in texture, even with the fish and shrimp in there. It's not bad by any metric, but it's just not what I'd want in a gumbo. One thing that is consistently amazing is the service. I don't know if they're paying the waiters/waitresses in gold coins, but they've always been friendly and helpful. read more

Overall, I'd say my experience at Shipwreck Grill was mediocre at best. The outdoor seating, live music, and mixed drinks are excellent. The wait staff is very friendly and food was delivered quickly. My main problem was with quality of what was served. For an appetizer, I ordered grilled oysters. The item consisted of six oysters with melted cheddar cheese and slices of pickled jalapenos. Two of the "oysters" contained only cheese and peppers. The dish was bizarre. You might as well have melted a cube of cheese for all the flavor that appetizer packed. As an entree, I ordered the oyster Po-Boy sandwich. The sandwich came on a huge section of toasted bread with a meager spattering of overly fried oyster bits and shredded lettuce. I had to request extra sauce since the kitchen forgot to put anything in the sandwich except "oyster" and lettuce. Luckily, the french fries were good else I would have gone away wholly disappointed. I noticed most of the seafood items on the menu consist of deep-fried dishes that are probably frozen and processed items you can purchase in the refrigerated foods section of any grocery store. My suggestion is skip the food and have a tasty mixed drink or beer because the seafood at this restaurant is certainly a wreck. Enjoy the atmosphere and music because if you come to Shipwrecked Grill expecting great food, you will be sorely disappointed. read more

I really love this place. I started visiting the week they opened and have been visiting ever since. They have a great menu variety to accommodate most (if not everyone's) tastes. The burgers are huge and very good, fries are lightly seasoned. I LOVE the tomatillo chicken sandwich but by far my "must have" are the grilled fish tacos. I have no idea what they put in these things, but they are absolutely the best. Fish quality is top notch and never tastes "muddy" like a lot of places that serve catfish or tilapia. I've only eaten crawfish there a handful of times but they have been great each time I have gone. They are very clean and are flavorful but not overly spicy. Boiled shrimp are great too! read more

In order to avoid the Valentine's Day nuts, my wife Peggy and I decided to stop in a day early. Peggy, being a devout follower of Pescetarianism, opted for fish tacos. The plate came with black beans, which she didn't eat, for obvious reasons. She said the tacos were delicious. She'd definitely have them again. I opted for the Boat Platter. It had 2 choices (much like you're faced with in life) of seafood with fries, and black beans. I chose the shrimp diablos and catfish. The catfish was delicious. The diablos (Spanish for devils) were heavenly. I know the bible says you shouldn't eat shell fish, but it also says you shouldn't have tattoos, and Peggy has a couple that only me and her maker can see...(if you get my drift). That's just a joke. What goes on in our house is private. I didn't partake in the beans, for reasons better left unsaid. Though it didn't matter. Those devilish diablos ripped my guts up like they were a losing lottery ticket. I didn't stick around to try and see what the facilities looked like here. It was much too packed. I got my check and ran faster than a cheerleader on a Friday night to Amico Nave, where I figured I had a good shot of scoring some privacy. Excellent place to dine! Will be back! read more

Since my review I have been contacted by the owners of Shipwreck Grill. I said in my original review that I had notified the establishment of my having found hair in my gumbo before posting on yelp. Having heard heard nothing, I posted it on Yelp. I got a polite message from the owner. He asked for my email address. He apologized for the incident. But, he could not find my original complaint. Long story short, they had recently updated their site. An error had been made in the forwarding email address for items such as mine. By following up on my yelp review and on his site, he discovered he was not getting emails from customers comments. He has since apologized for the original incident. He has also used it to train employees on procedures. He also offered a complimentary meal which has been accepted. I will post a new review when we visit Shipwreck Grill. As I said before, in two previous visits the meals and service had been outstanding. Looking forward to the next visit.. read more
