I really really like this place I haven't seen anything wrong happen for me to dislike it. It's been my group of friends place to eat after whatever we do in school. I really enjoy Shiso Sushi. It makes me feel like I'm eating authentic sushi and not some place that can get you sick. I've been here close to every other week. The happy hour (5 to 7pm) prices is perfect for a sushi lover's budget. Regular rolls are $2, speciality rolls are $2.50. Appetizers are $2-3. The size of the rolls are not small just because the price is cut. Four people ate for $35 and had left over sushi. Good atmosphere but only recommendation would be to come early as it gets crowded around 6-7pm. read more

Great sushi and happy hour deal! Mm can't beat $2 dollar sushi. I found this place trying to go to Chick-filet on a Sunday but they were closed. I decided to check it out and grabbed to-go. Unfortunately, there were busy so that is a sign that they are good. The next day I went with my roommate to check it out. We loved it and it was great. The salad lettuce was so old that as I picked through it, all of the lettuce was transparent, even through the top, middle, and bottom of the bowl. The waitress kept insisting all their salads are prepared fresh daily. This one wasn't. I asked her to bring me a fresh salad and she I insisted it was fresh. After my tempura arrived, she insisted again that their salads are made fresh daily. When I told her that all the lettuce was transparent and that this is the reason I knew it wasn't fresh, she finally brought me a fresh salad. The salad dressing was something spewed out of a blender, with lots of fiber. It was salty and inedible. The tempura was ok, but the broccoli was purchased already cut and frozen, and it tasted like that. My tempura was about $12. Not worth it at all. This is NOT a good restaurant. read more

I love this restaurant and it is the best out of all of the sushi bars in Orlando but I would highly recommend that you try them first after this one and then come back and see which is better but I say that they have the best options here and especially during happy hour in where their prices are reasonable buy even more reasonable when you order a meal and you buy it! When it first opened, I went to see what the menu was like, for traditional cooked Japanese cuisine. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken. It was kind of pricey, but it was very good... generous portions of sticky rice, grilled tender chicken, perfect sauce...and a little surprise... sweet potato fries. It was the first time I ever had sweet potato fries, but I loved them. The next night, I went back and ordered the Teriyaki beef. It was just as appetizing. I alternate between the chicken or beef tempura or teriyaki. The happy hour rolls are very cheap, but the amount is basically the same as if you paid half for a regular roll, and maybe even less for the salmon roll. Luckily I wasn't very hungry, and just went in for a quick bite with my friend. He spent about 8$ together and got 12 pieces. Also, most of the fish is ground up, instead of nicely cut. So if you're looking for cheap and sushi, it's a fantastic place. If you're actually someone who enjoys authenticity around your raw fish, I would not recommend it. Most of the people were just locals looking for quick food. I doubt the sashimi or nagiri section is used often by them. This would be more like someone going there for the novelty of it. So while I did enjoy it, if I'm actually craving legitimate sushi, I'd go somewhere on John Young like sushi-en. The other food isn't too bad looking. Service was great! Family owned, consistent, nice quiet place, small but tastefully decorated. I love the happy hour menu for my sushi fix. I can almost eat my weight in mackerel, sooooo good! The yumi yumi roll is just that. The spicy tuna and salmon rolls are great. I could just go on and on. My only issue with shiso sushi is that the dinner menu portions can be a bit inconsistent.
