I saw lots of shoes within the bell curve of sizes, but I wear 11 1/2, narrow. When I asked about my size, the sales clerk recommended I go to the clearance zone. Nothing really there, either. If, as the signs say, "We have your size!" why should I have to go to the special clearance area? They should really change the sign to "We have most sizes!" If you have a shoe size somewhere in the 6-9 range, there are lots of choices, varieties, options. Lucky you! For the rest of us... nope. And don't tell me, "Just go to the website!" I wanted to find some basic low-slung black pumps. To try them on before I bought them. I shouldn't have to go online for that. Added note: I tried to give DSW Shoes a second chance. I went to their website, looked up women's shoes, then pumps and applied my shoe size filter: 11.5 narrow. The result was: zero. Amazing. I can see not having a wide choice, but NOTHING? Give me a break!

She has been struggling with pain and finding good shoes and was recommended by her doctor to come here. Heather was the employee working the day we came and she was absolutely wonderful! She was very informative and described everything in lay terms so it was easy for my mom to understand. My mom ended up buying wedges with built in support that she needed for an upcoming wedding. The service here was absolutely wonderful and I'm truly impressed!

Heather has an extensive knowledge in orthopedics and can answer just about any question you may have about your feet. She's thorough and takes her to assess your feet and you can learn so much just chatting with her! Since the store is considered Medical, you have 7 days to return if you're not satisfied and "insurance is only covered if you're diabetic." They also accept HSA cards which is great! I'm really glad I found this place and will definitely plan to come back.

Not a great experience due to a pricing issue. The under garment was marked down to $4.87 with a…read moreblack pen, however, it rang up as regular price. Then the guy said that markdowns are not marked off by pen. Then I told him that there were 2 of the same things marked the same way. I went to the shelf and showed him the other 2 items with the same pricing. He consulted with his coworker and decided to call the store manager. The manager said no and it would still need to be at regular price. I've never had this happen. Usually when there is a price difference and you find others with the same price, they honor the marked price. It was an unpleasant experience and probably need to revamp their policies to honor prices that are marked, especially if there are others with the same markdown price!

They were out of stock in my size, but the manufacturer is in Lake Oswego and they were making their order the next day. They just added me to the order. Less than a week later and my boots are in! When I picked them up, he told me Chinook didn't want the old pair back, so he patched the hole and gave them back to me! Super friendly service that goes the extra mile because he can. You have a customer for life!

New year, new shoes!…read more My regular walking/running shoes have worn down a ton, so I stopped by Foot Traffic for a replacement. Staff quickly greeted me, and asked what they could help with. They asked a few questions to figure out what I was looking for and what I had worn before, and then promptly brought out multiple options to meet that criteria. They don't pressure you into sales, and they give you plenty of time to try things on and walk around with them (including on an in-store treadmill). While the prices are maybe 2-3 times as expensive as what you could get for a cheap knockoff on Amazon, it feels good to support a local business and have guidance in choosing the right shoe for you. The store has a rewards program, and they plan various run clubs for the community.

We tried multiple shoes, and they had me step into their new foot evaluation machine. We found the right inserts for the right shoes in the right size. Kind of important, and not something that can be done on line. The staff is always very knowledgeable, and I'll learn from my lesson; No on-line for running/walking shoes, but in person retail from a well regarded store.

I don't go for or expect Nordstrom level customer service, spotless fitting rooms or quick check out lines. Point being, set your expectations! Since I had just gone to the Ross in Eastport Plaza, I decided to take SE 82nd to get home so I could stop in this Ross too. They all have different inventory so it's always worth a quick drop in and walk through the store. Today I found a gorgeous jumpsuit by Calvin Klein for $49 and I've seen it at Macy's for $129. Same exact one. Also bought an on trend pair of leopard print pants. I know, sounds like a street hooker. But they really are somewhat tame, no pun intended! I plan on wearing them around the house as loungeware because the material is so soft, they have pockets, and they are a loose, wide leg style. For $11.99, I couldn't leave them behind. It was Friday around dinner hour so the store was not crowded and checkout was fast. If you go during lunch hours when it's busy, the lines are often long because for some reason, they have less cashiers working during the busiest time. Like all Ross they have the annoying "greater" as you walk in, not adding to the experience at all. I smile and keep walking. At this particular store on this day, I did see a very active security guard really walking around watching to prevent theft, not just standing around which is usually the case. I, for one, appreciate this. Too much theft in Portland and it affects all of us. I like that they have security guards; I'm there to shop not steal so their presence doesn't bother me. Another stop at Ross, another bargain found!
