    I love to sho guns
    Fox E.

When people ask me to flex, I just pretend I work at Sho-guns. But this is unrelated. This is one of those hyper westernized all American sushi hibachi places, with all the fanfare of a suburban sanitized experience. The food tastes good, the prices are high, the key is the experience. I don't like these massive corporate chains, and I don't love this kind of sushi either. I like mine from a back alley, freshly chopped by some person that really knows it and puts their heart into it. Anyway, for the experience, I give a 3 as usual. This is one of 2 Shoguns I've been to in HTX area and it's better than the other.

Roaches on walls food was old fridge taste lobster reheated. I'm pregnant and I'm getting food poisoning for sure I'm going back there if I miscarry my fetus and make sure they lose their house myself.

It pains me to write this, as I've enjoyed dining here a few times and usually they don't disappoint. Unfortunately, today I received mushy shrimp fried rice and crab puffs that tasted as though they were fried in burnt oil. I also waited a long time for my order, despite calling ahead, and had to tell two different staff members what I was waiting on. I tried calling to resolve the issue, but the phone kept going to voicemail. I'm not sure what went wrong today, but I hope they get things back on track. I'm still open to giving them another chance because everyone has off days; however, I'll probably wait a while before returning. I should at least mention that the food was served hot and ambiance was nice.

The hibachi, demonstration is very entertaining and that's what made the food good. The hibachi table added a little twist to the dinner. You would need to get there early on the weekend mainly Sundays. The shrimp were big and fresh. The salmon was a nice size and well seasoned. The filet mignon melt in your mouth. It was worth the money,

The small roach crawling on the grill

This restaurant is infested with roaches, my family and I went for a birthday dinner. Before we were serve one of my family members had a fly on her plate. Then a small roach was crawling on the grill. We got up and left. They need to do a deep clean at this restaurant.

A great overall experience for my family. For the price you can't go wrong. There are several Grills In the area but for us we had a great time. Food was yummy. What wasn't to love? Got seated pretty fast for a party of 15. Very accommodating.

I've tried this place before and wasn't impressed but tonight's experience changed my mind. They gave me a huge lemon slice for my water which was much appreciated! We started with the gyoza, it was average tbh We ordered the boat and it did not disappoint. The chefs prepared it fairly quick despite the restaurant being busy for dinner. The sashimi slices were thick and cold. The nigiri and both rolls were good too. It says this feeds 3 but the two of us had a big appetite tonight. Totally worth the $ because unlike other places they give you a full selection instead of loading the boat with only salmon and tuna. Our waiter was friendly and attentive so we will definitely be back

The bartender was rude to myself and my daughter, but when my husband went to confront him about it he was quiet about what he did. This used to be one of our favorite lunch spots. We come twice a week! We have never had a problem there and all of the daytime staff wave at us when we enter. After the situation is "over" the server comes to the table and apologized for what we may have over heard because the bartender was still at the bar disrespecting my family. He never puts our order in and keeps going outside to vape, slamming the door constantly by our table. We wanted our daughter to enjoy her time out before school the next day so we smiled through it all, tipped 22% and left hungry. The food is quick and cheap and like I said we have never had a problem with any of the staff. We enjoy the two ladies that primarily work in the day. Today was shocking and the bartender was lucky that he had a family that was classy enough not to escalate the situation because he deserved it! We overlooked the restrooms and entry way not being the cleanest...but disrespect? Never!

They worked as a smooth team incase the one who was helping you was busy and you needed something sorted. I would give 10 if it was possible. Food on the other hand, for a vegetarian- only the Karma bowl for an entree. Its like you choose your grains, ur veges, and sauce and they will put it all together over heat and give you. Mine was ok and I probably could have added a lot of veges as my bowl was only 1/2 full. It is one price for one bowl, irrespective of how much of what you add. Taste wise, it was ok as I had no idea how much of sauce would go into it or the spice level. The second order was vegetable roll. We asked for a little customized version of excluding mushrooms. They brought it with 'kanpyo' instead and forgot the carrots First of all kanpyo looks like mushroom and didn't have the faintest idea that they were very different things , secondly carrots were no where to be seen. When called to enquire, they apologized and took back the order without a minute's hesitation and made a fresh batch made with no mushroom no kanpyo and carrots included. Appreciated that very much. Food wise summery, the bowl or the roll. I definitely preferred the roll and when soaked in sriracha, it exploded in my mouth with flavors. The first one just fell into sriracha by mistake and got drenched, after I tasted that I drowned the next ones in myself...... The place is maintained spotless and the bar was filled to capacity at 5 pm. They do have TV with closed captions . Very limited vegetarian options but you won't go hungry.

Our server was awesome, drinks were inexpensive, and the instructions for filling the bowls for the grill were very clearly posted and easy to understand. I'm not sure if she still works here, but the place honestly felt different without her welcoming smile and warm reception. We arrived just in time for breakfast (last Saturday) I ordered Bangsilog, while my cousin had the Tocilog. Service was fast as usual. I really enjoyed my Bangsilog--the bangus tasted fresh, perfectly fried, crispy on the outside while still tender and juicy inside. Unfortunately, my cousin's tocino was disappointing. The tocino was tough and tasted like it may have been leftover from previous day and simply reheated. Either that or it has been sitting in the kitchen for quite awhile. We still finished our meals. Because we were starving, but it definitely affected the experience. It also made us miss Hazel's customer service even more because if she had been there, we're pretty sure she would've handled the situation right away. I waited a while before writing this review because I wanted to be as fair as possible. The lady who served us was still very good, although it was obvious that the overall customer service experience was not quite at the same level as when Hazel was around. The biggest issue was really the tocino. Because of that, this latest visit to TJ's wasn't perfect and honestly made us wonder if it's still worth making this one our go-to spot whenever we're in the Houston area.
