We just had the best experience here for a weekday lunch. We got a table all to ourselves with the chef just preparing food for us! We got a same day reservation, luckily it was slow that day. Disappointed is an understatement!!! My husband made a reservation for a date night for us & our 6 kids tonight. Our reservation was for 8pm but we arrived around 7:40pm because they stressed how we cannot be late. We were seated for dinner and waited. We waited & waited some more. Let me remind you we had 6 kids with us. When 9pm rolled around, we had enough!!! It wasn't until we all got up to leave the manager came out and tried apologizing. So I decided to pick this place for my bday. I called Abou3 times to ask for the room & they kept saying we can't Guarantee it. Se show up with a party of 23, we still had drinks at the bar while waiting for my other guest. I asked to see if the room was taken of not can we use it. They really tried to push back & even a host rolled her eyes at me. We got seated & I thought the hibachi table was suppose to be fun. If I could give negative stars I would! Came in to order take out. Ordered the combination (steak and chicken) w/fried rice and added lobster. What I got was a la carte style and lobster, chicken, steak and rice. No veggies like the combination meal would have. We had a group of 4 and all of our food was cold. The manager was rude and very unfriendly. Has no customer service skills. She seemed annoyed with the fact that the food was cold and that we were asking questions because what we got wasn't what we expected. Never going back and would never recommend. Updated to respond to manager: I actually only changed my order once, which was only a few minutes after I ordered. Service for Mother's Day was BEYOND SLOW. We had a reservation for 6PM and didn't get sat down until over an hour and a half later. While all of this is happening, they are letting groups in (with same party size as ours) with later reservation times in before ours (looks like they are very disorganized and unprepared for the large groups for the holiday). We even tried to check with the hostesses regarding the issue multiple times and they blew us off. We sat down and food went well except for when the bar was super backed up and had to wait for drinks. After our meal was finished and check arrived, nothing was discounted despite our long wait time and had to pay in full. This irritated our group when we came to overhear a group had all of their drinks comped for their "long wait time". Most likely won't come back again as we were there for over 3 hours by the time we had left and could have easily dined somewhere else that would have treated us much better. read more

I can practically never get a seat at the grill. I have called several times and they are booked for the night. Three of us walk in at 4pm. Only one hour after they open. Probably only 8 customers inside with 1 chef working at grill. Surely I can get a grill top seat now. Nope was told I'd have to come back at 730. Really 3.5 hours later with nobody in sight! So went to Texas Roadhouse with a 15 minute wait and had an awesome steak! Shogun has lost my business forever! read more

If I could give them a zero star rating I would. Took my family to this place for dinner and it took an hour and fifteen meetings to get my food, and an hour for my family to get their food. When the manager came to listen to our complaint she was unapologetic and kept blaming other factors. She didn't seem to care and kept acting life she wanted to laugh. The waitress was unapologetic and had "no clue" why the food was taking so long. This over priced establishment took 50% off our bill, but I will still never return, absolutely horrendous was this business is being operated. read more

Horrible first time experience. We made reservations a day before and we were sat on time, which was great. Our chef on the other hand, complete mess. He seemed disheveled and unprepared. He kept on rubbing his eye and excused himself for that reason... when he came back I thought he was ready to cook for us, NOPE. He still seemed uncomfortable and unpleasant constantly rubbing and touching his face with his cooking gloves. That was so discussing and dirty. I knew something was off, I was worried about the rice on the cooking grill, seemed like it was burning. He was so preoccupied with the egg shells he was trying to remove from the eggs he had just cracked he didn't notice the rice turning brown. Once he got the egg shells out of our food he was like Edward Scissor Hand- tossing that rice around all over the dam place making a mess. Once the rice was done and as he was serving it, one of the ceramic bowls fell on the hot stove and broke. We didn't notice at the time but as he swiveled the food around I saw something white and YUP it was a piece of ceramic.. at that point it was all served ... he did offer to bring back another rice from the back but I was so annoyed and shook my head. Also the waitress.. oh god where do I began. I couldn't get a word in edgewise with that girl. By the time i said 3 words she was half across the other side of the room. We needed spoons for our soup and kept asking how many ... ugh there is 4 of us, and 4 soups how many do you think we need? I felt like I was in that episode of I love LUCY, where they are eating dinner on a schedule.. in the middle of our dinner it was her and another guy trying to sing happy birthday with the ice cream in her hand for my son .. at that point I was pissed. MID DINNER, really!!!! I told her, " we aren't ready for ice cream yet" typically we would all finish dinner first THEN SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY. At least I could have had my phone handy ready to take a video of my son on his birthday. Mind you this is the only celebration I had for him. I called the manager NOT GIVING ANY NAMES because I'm not that kind of person, to state what had happened she did apologize and that was pretty much it. I'm not those type to call up and say something was off but this was wayyyy to much especially since you expect to have at least a decent dinner for the price you pay, in my case over $200. This whole situation didn't even phase the female manager.. I was at least expecting her to say you can have free ice cream next time, For the next time I won't be going to , that was the least ... The whole show and experience was just awful. It was our first time at the restaurant and I will never go back!! I gave a 2nd star cause the food was mediocre. Took 15 min before our server took our drink order, took another 15 min to receive them, because the bartender left the bar area. Server didn't come around often, but there were a lot of workers. We just kept being told "5 more minutes" The server did not come help our table until 9:30. The cook came around 10. They also forgot some of my meal. Came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Called 4 days in advance to reserve a table for 9. And although we arrived on time for the reservation they wouldn't sit us because we were short 2 people. Our table was ready and we asked if we could at least sit down and wait and they refused to let us in. Once the whole party was together they sat us down and we still had to wait 10 minutes for a waitress to come by and take our drink order. After that she took another 15 minutes just to come take our food order. The chef came out about 10 minutes after and began to perform his routine. Nothing special, he seemed tired and uninterested. Quiet and reserved, boring if you ask me! The food was good, no complaints there. But the service could've been better. At one point, nobody could find our server for drink refills! What really disappointed me was they didn't honor their advertised coupons they show online. I had them saved on my phone but they did not take them because they weren't printed! But no where in the website does it state they need to be printed. Such a scam. Anyways, I won't be returning anytime soon. We'd been coming to this place littlee since it opened. It was a great place for us to get sushi in a drink. Now it's a total joke we will not be going back they water down every drink with a bunch of juices they raised the price on him even the happy hour ones. Happy hour use to be 3 rolls for $20 now it's 2 rolls for $20. But the worst part is the quality of food is so cheap now and taste is poor, that we're never going back, it left that kind of taste our memory. I can only guess by others writing how long they have to wait and the lower quality I would guess then the mandatory higher raises that started in January by California law is forcing this company to cut cut cut. read more

4 stars for this Hibachi restaurant! My boyfriend and I came for his birthday, and it was such a fun experience! Parking was easy, as it's in a strip mall near a 24 hour fitness right off the freeway. We made a phone reservation and waited less than 5 mins to be seated at 7pm on a Saturday evening. We ordered the steak & garlic chicken, and the chicken karaage appetizer. I really liked the chicken karaage, freshly fried, juicy and crispy. Basically a Japanese version of chick fil a nuggets and better. I wish we had gotten the accompanying steak sauce with the chicken because that would've been bomb. The steak and garlic chicken were pretty good, not out of this world, but juicy and tasty. The accompany fried rice (extra $2?) and veggies were pretty good, probably because of all the butter that goes into it. The show was definitely the best part. The chef was entertaining and did a bunch of fun tricks with the food that made our table laugh and have a good time. I wasn't so much into the knife tricks but all the extra stuff (volcano, moving fire, beating heart) was a showstopper. So fun! Overall, the food was pretty good, but the show is what makes it worth it. AND we had a $15 off deal from localflavor.com which definitely made it worth it (otherwise it's pretty pricey). read more

Horrible service! We have been going to this place for years. Food is good, but the service has change drastically. My husband and I sat on the diner side. When our order was taken, the waitress did not ask if would like vegetables or noodles. This question is part of their routine. She brought us vegetables. When she brought our food, she apologize and said she would bring us the noodles. She never mentioned we were going to be charged extra. When we asked for the manager, Jose, he said the waitress didn't have to mentioned the extra charge to the customer. He said they changed their menu 7 months ago. He refused to reverse the charge. When we said, he was going to lose a customer, he said, "Oh well, that's the way it is." This place used to be packed on a Saturday around 5pm. Not today! It was empty. We sent the meals back and waited another 45 min to get the replacements, which got there at 7:15pm. At that point we asked for them to be boxed to go and they still forgot our rice. We spoke to the manager to see what they can do for us and he said "we have you a 10% discount", absolutely unacceptable! The general manager ended up giving us "employee" discount of 50% but at that point it was jus beyond fixing. We just got home and our food is still poorly made and we were skimmed on the seafood in our meals. We won't be returning to this location. read more

Came by for lunch with family and was told it was a 20 minute wait. Waited and sat down and weren't greeted for 10 minutes. We got three rolls out and I waited another 20 minutes for my rolls! I'm pregnant and can't have raw fish like the rest of my table so I sat there with an empty stomach waiting. Tried this place for the first time and ended up leaving in the middle of our meal. The server Riz must have been new or we just came at the wrong time... not sure but won't be coming back here again. How can so many things go wrong in 45 minutes? Long story short... sushi appetizer came quickly but no soy sauce, wasabi or ginger without asking or getting up to retrieve it from the sushi bar. Ordered hot food, half the order was received, the other half had to be asked for. Drink didn't come out without a second reminder. To top it all off, the soup that we had to remind him came with our meal was spilled upon receipt and we had to call it a night on our experience, because who wants to sit and finish a meal with a wet butt, pants & shoes? :( We had to request a manager. Well let's see to start, I was immediately welcomed and the promised wait time was beat and was taken to our seats with a very welcoming hostess. Now the main thing that held me from giving a five star; it took 12 min before anyone made contact with us to find out drink orders. Personally I felt that was way too long especially when I was thirsty. Now after ordering it was amazing how fast our tables chef was to our table and ready to cook our meal. I did not get my steam rice until everybody got their fried rice and shrimp appetizers (and the bowl was handed to me by a server who already had full hands). Had to ask twice for refills. We really enjoyed our lunch! I was very happy with my filet mignon. The noodles were yummy. The fried rice was a little plain, but the ginger sauce that accompanies the meal made it taste good. We tried the sake flight and didn't enjoy it much, though the one that was described as "light and smooth" was the best out of the 3 we tried. The server and chef were both kind and attentive. I appreciated that they sat us at our own grill rather than forcing us to sit with random people, but perhaps this happened because it was a bit slow at lunch today.
