There is just something about this place that exudes Hawaiian vibes. We love the one in Stanton and was overjoyed to hear they were coming here. We ordered the chicken katsu combo which is flawlessly seasoned, crispy yet meat is very soft. The Mac salad is not overpowered by mayonnaise, and they give a decent portion. The spam was rationed well, not too much rice with a saucy bite. A recommendation- don't smash the rice, it takes away the fluffiness, and our rice was really smashed but maybe that's just me being picky. After waiting over 20 minutes for what should have been a quick-pour refreshment, the situation bordered on absurd. The lemonade isn't some handcrafted specialty--it's pre-made, sitting ready in a visible juicer. Yet, the staff appeared too focused on fulfilling elaborate food orders to hand over a drink that required virtually no effort. Even when reminded, the response felt casual, as though a drink delay that long were normal. It gives the impression that if your order isn't part of a multi-ingredient entrée, it simply doesn't matter. Shootz could easily fix this imbalance with a touch of awareness and prioritization. Drinks, especially those already prepared, should never take longer than the cooking of full meals. Customers shouldn't have to chase down something as simple as lemonade when the kitchen clearly has the means to serve it instantly. Until Shootz tightens up its service flow and pays equal attention to all orders--big or small--it's hard to recommend it for anyone expecting timely and consistent service. The chicken is a perfect blend of crisp and juicy, and can be made regular or spicy. The spicy is just spicy enough to make it flavorful not really "hot", and served with rice and a macaroni salad. The combo comes with spam musubi, which was seasoned well, and includes a drink of choice. They offer dishes a la carte as well, so you do have options. But if you go there, I recommend the shrimp, either a la carte, or as a combo! Perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and juicy. It was so good, we ate it before we could take out the camera!
