Pretty awesome! The wait was a little excessive but that was the only issue. I had the Eggs Benedict with Carnitas, and subbed the hash browns for Vanilla bean yogurt with fruit and I also added some pork sausage links. The service is great and fast, the staff was super nice, and the space was really really cool. The outside I felt was much better but I didn't sit inside so I can't really say. I'll definitely go back to this place but I'll try to arrive a little earlier, as around 1045 there was about a 45 to 50 minute wait. read more

I don't know if the chef accidentally dropped a stick of butter into my party's plates, but our dishes just tasted so much like a slab of butter that it was hard to finish. This review is not for the sit down brunch part of this establishment but rather the cafe that it has attached right next door. It was a very beautiful place to visit but the inside of the cafe was small and could crowd easy. I didn't mind that because we could just step outside to wait for our drinks. My sister and I visited and the service was okay. I could understand why it could not have been the best because it was busy but it felt like we were rushed when we ordered and the barista was pretty straightforward. We ordered two strawberry peach smoothies. Our order wasn't even called out and it was just left on the front counter and we only knew it was ours because of the ticket left under it (no name on it just the drinks on it). I'm not sure how their system is to get drinks out to customers but that was our experience. When we got our drinks it was not at all what we expected. The smoothies were separated and looked very unappetizing. The photo in the review was not even 5 minutes after we got our smoothies and it was separating even more and had small chunks in it. The taste was okay and I was trying to drink most of it so it wouldn't go to waste but the texture was not the greatest and the flavor was subpar that I couldn't finish it all. This was my 4th time here all the other experiences were great! I love Claires on Cedros menu which is similar if not the same so I always order the Angus short rib with hash browns which is so delicious! My stepdaughter and her family were visiting and she liked the food last time and requested to eat here again. Unfortunately it was not a good experience this time. I added us to the wait list online and it showed 10-20min wait we waited over 30 minutes. They were extremely busy on Black Friday. We asked to get the kids meal early and before our food, that didn't happen. We ordered french fries and received banana slices. My husband ordered oatmeal and it was served very dry. My son-in-law's meal was missing his toast. The server only checked on us once when we were almost done with our meals so at that point it was too late to ask her for toast, but she did comp my sons meal since his food arrived later than everyone else's. We were able to ask for the kids fries to go. Overall, I can understand why the service was lacking since they were so busy but I do feel like a lot of mistakes were made. I most likely will return, but will lower my expectations and verify everything with the server before they put in our order. read more

The host was kind of distracted the day I was there because I was waiting to be seated and he went and sat two women that came after me. To the point that the women told him, and he still didn't listen lol. I sat on one of the benches in the back. It was cold and a bit windy and the umbrella at the table flew and almost decapitated me hahaha. I didn't know how sharp my reflexes were until I just instinctively caught the umbrella. Again the host was distracted and took his time to come and help with the umbrella situation. Anyway I had the buttermilk pancakes with berries that were ok. My daughter and I looked for the perfect breakfast spot for about 10 minutes all around Carlsbad village. Found it! We were given a 20 to 30 minute wait at 11am on a Thursday! It was after Christmas and tourists still visiting. As a local I was here once before but not excited about food or service. we were offered first available seating and went shopping. Returned after 30 minutes and there were still 4 parties in front. We noticed the bar had z5 open seats! Wouldn't that be first available? So we asked about it and hostess snarky said go for it! We could have been seated there 29 minutes ago as we saw seats open and figured she was sitting people there . So we took those seats and were so happy with the service staff and the cook staff as we watched in awe how plates came out quickly and looked amazing. We shared the tasty egg white Mediterranean and crispy light hash browns then crowned our palate with a short stack of pancakes either Mac nut crunch and guava butter. Wow! Buttered and toasted bread sitting on a crisp white plate with small bowls for my salad and his fries. They could have easily put the fries on the side of his sandwich, but they took the extra care to place them in a bowl and then put that on the side of his sandwich.
