What an amazing place for good food and great vibes in La Jolla Shore. Although parking can be tricky, it's well worth the effort for a great spot for fresh quality food. And it's delicious!!! Allie was our host and was able to find a great place to eat. All the tables are great with even an outside covered patio available. Jade our waitress was very friendly and nice. She was very patient and professional and listened to us in a kind way. With young ones with us, it is challenging. However, Jade ensured that we enjoyed our meal at the Shorehouse Kitchen. At brunch, my go to dish is the French toast that will tell me the quality and care from the kitchen. I was blown away at how delicious the French Toast was. The name is the "CARAMELIZED TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN FRENCH TOAST with Fresh Blueberries or Bananas and Chantilly Cream, or a Grilled Pineapple". Jade gave away the secret ingredient to me and I was impressed. An applied Maillard reaction with brown sugar brought the French Toast a new level of yumminess. The Chantilly Cream took it over the top, not to sweet and very creamy. Yum!!! Also tried the "RASPBERRY TRUFFLE MOCHA St. George Vanilla Bean Vodka. Raspberry Liqueur, Callebaut Belgian Chocolate, Espresso, Steamed Milk, Chantilly Cream" . AMAZING!!! The Shorehouse Kitchen is a gem with fantastic food and service. Definitely a return visit call for the family!!!
This place is 10 out of 10. Was looking for a cute breakfast spot to go to breakfast too before going to the aquarium. I got the mango guava pancakes, which were out of this world. The granola on top with the guava sauce was perfect. Also got a latte which was very good.
Came here on Friday for late breakfast after a hike. We were seated right away but the parking can be a challenge. Service was very friendly and attentive. I had tofu egg white frittata and decaf cappuccino. Food was pretty decent, but not great. Coffee was very mediocre. My husband had a cheeseburger and he enjoyed it. They have lots of standard breakfast options that you can order if you want that. They have some indoor and outdoor dining. And the vibe is kind of like a beach diner but probably a little better than that. So overall a pretty decent experience.
We are always looking for a good brunch spot and Shorehouse will definitely be making it into our rotations. Honestly might have the best crispy breakfast potatoes I've had. The short rib potato cakes were also amazing. The mango and guava pancakes were great and was a nice twist to the usual flavors. I was not the biggest fan of the pork carnitas cornbread Benedict and would probably try something different next time--it was a little too bland and the texture too one dimensional. Overall, though, a very solid brunch spot in SD!
This is a cute little cafe to have brunch at. They have a variety of coffees, fresh pressed juices, and booze if you're in the mood. They have patio seating outside so you can soak in the sun, people watch, and enjoy a nice meal. I lovedddd the caramelized Tahitian vanilla French toast! It had a little crunch from the caramelization of the vanilla on the French toast. We added the strawberry, blueberry, and chantilly cream to it. Perfect blend of sweet, tangy, fluffy, with a little crunch. Definitely a good sweet treat to start the day. I got a spinach, Swiss cheese, bacon omelet. The hash browns were pretty good! Crunchy, salty, and went well with the eggs. I was hoping for more of a coffee flavor in the white mocha. They make the whipped cream from scratch. The mocha was mid. I would say this place is a lil over a 4 star place. The beach bowl is an açaí bowl on top of Greek yogurt. I thought it was a little too tangy for my taste. I think having either the yogurt or açaí bowl works better than mixing the two.
Came to shoreline kitchen during a quick san diego trip! We came on a saturday morning around 9:30 AM and there was no wait. Parking around is a bit hard to find, ultimately had to park a few blocks down. We got the maple chicken sandwich and an eggs benedict and both were really good. Service was 10/10
Food was amazing. Nice robust flavor from the béarnaise sauce on the Salmon Benedict. Waiter was very pleasant. He asked what kind of side of toast did I want with my Benedict, I responded with "oh? There's toast included? Maybe Rye?" And he said "oh no, my apologies, it doesn't come with toast". I must have had a really sad look on my face when I said "oh ok". because he said "you know what, I'll throw in a side of complimentary toast". Anyways, great little niche close to the ocean. Nice light cool breeze. Street Parking was easy to find
I came for brunch on a Thursday around 11:30 and the place was busy, but not overly packed so seating was quick. I got the Classic Benedict, with the Crispy Hash Browns, and though the hollandaise was delicious there were some problems with the texture of the English Muffin. One side (that came with an already punctured-ish egg) was really tough and hard to cut through. However, the other side was light and fluffy. Another part I wasn't a fan of was that their Canadian Bacon leaned on a thicker cut and a saltier side; but there was still a generous amount of slices. Service was great and were kind in making some modifications to the menu with the scramble. There was also not a long wait time for the food to come out. Ambience leans towards beachy with a nice outside patio and a cozy seating on the inside. Though I didn't fully enjoy the item I got, I would go again and try others of their classic brunch or lunch menu.
In the area for a wedding and stopped by this brunch place. It was phenomenal. We got the chicken sandwich and the spinach/mushroom omelette. Both flavors were amazing!! Service was also good. Recommend
It pains me to leave 3 stars but the service was SO slow. Maybe it was just this timing or being understaffed but it didn't seem busy when we arrived. The food was delicious and the service was slow. After our day date doing kayaking on Sunday morning (11am) across the street at EveryDay California, we saw Shorehouse across the street and the reviews looked good. We came in at 1pm on Sunday and quickly got a table. Thankfully we just had our party of 2. I did see the Yelp waitlist showed 17-30 min but we got right in and seated outside. We were quickly seated but I wish the rest of the experience would have been faster. Our server took our order after 10 min. FOOD- it took a while to get our food. 40 minutes after ordering and a guest that came after us got their food before us. -Monterey omelette - 8.5/10- my husband thought it was good with the chiles and made with quality bacon. -Egg white Mediterranean omelette- 8/10 - I liked that they offered healthy options. The omelette wasn't soaked in oil which was appreciated! -Caramelized Tahitian French toast 10/10 - I had a bite and this was delicious. We did have to ask for syrup though. Overall, this is a tasty place but maybe avoid sitting out front or going on a busy day.
Enjoyed a few hours at the beach. Asked a local where to get food was directed to the strip of restaurants. Fee options but when we stopped at Shorehouse Kitchen we knew we'd be happy with the choice as the person who greeted us was friendly and said "take your time". The roasted red pepper bisque had grilled cheese toast that was tasty and filling. The cucumber avocado sandwich with the seasoned fries complimented the soup perfectly. They also serve breakfast foods as well. Plenty of seating indoor, covered patio and on the street dining. Any seat is the right seat
Popular breakfast place with a comprehensive menu. There can be a wait, as the staff seems a bit overstretched. Unfortunately, the table we were seated at had a sticky surface that did not feel properly sanitized. The owner should consider replacing this type of furniture, as a clean and comfortable dining environment would make the experience much more pleasant for everyone.
Cute spot at one end of the La Jolla shores downtown strip with lots of outdoor, dog-friendly seating. They even have a full doggie menu! We arrived at 1 on a Sunday and I added us got the yelp waitlist while walking up. However upon arrival a minute later there were multiple tables available and they were able to seat us right away. Yelp said there was a 10-min wait with a few parties in front of us, so would not rely on yelp waitlist in the future.. Menu looked great, with classics as well as special items. Something for everyone between the breakfast and lunch menus, as well as a pretty extensive cafe and alcoholic menu. I was eyeing the Kyoto coffee, juices, and samovar teas, but landed on the St. George Ibarra Mocha instead since my MIL went for a spritz and we're on holiday! It wasn't too sweet but definitely a nice treat and best as a dessert after our savory lunches. Her limoncello spritz was also super yummy and both were booooozy. Carnitas poblano cornbread benedict - I don't typically get Benedicts but this sounded intriguing and so glad we got it. Perfectly poached eggs and flavorful carnitas on this great cornbread - no hollandaise needed (kept on side). The hashbrowns were crispy as promised. Quinoa pear pomegranate salad was a great combo of flavors and textures! Filling even without adding more protein (though recommend adding perhaps salmon). Tarragon chicken salad was ok - surprisingly underseasoned, not very flavorful, and the chicken was chopped smaller than I prefer. I'd skip. It was a very light dish, if that's what you're feeling! Great friendly service which we appreciated. The pastries inside looked really good too. I'd love to try a bite of those, their mango guava pancakes, and poblano white chicken chili in the future.

First time to Shorehouse and got in without much of a wait Bc of immense rain. But I'd definitely come back again even if we had to wait. The food was very good. We had a wide range at our table of 6, which is a squeeze but can still accommodate and I'm sure when there's no rain it's easier. We had the French toast, pancakes with fruit on top, fried chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, Monterey omelette and the angus beef. All were excellent. Angus meat was tender and flavorful, the brioche for sandwiches and French toast were fluffy and buttery and the hash was a perfect crispiness. They even did the bacon extra crispy. Chicken was tender and everything was a good flavor. I'm not one for too salty so I liked this amount. Service was great. They came by frequently and did all the little things - warmed up syrup, kept the coffee filled, provided nicely individually bottled preservatives, and beautiful latte art :). Waiter was friendly and accommodating and very pleasant guy. Ambiance was nice although it's a small space esp if you cannot use the outdoor patio. Had some subtle sound paneling for the main room, 2 bathrooms anyone can use and a side cafe, coffee section too. Love the natural light and corner location. Parking may get tight given the area but we lucked out bc of the rain. read more

I was excited to dine at this location given how amazing my breakfast was at the Carlsbad location. We came here on a Friday morning. We were able to find free 2 hour street parking across the street. (Parking can be a bitch in the area especially if it's peak or holiday season.) I checked my Yelp app to see how long the wait time is and there was no wait from the time I checked to the time we arrived. When we checked in, we had our choice in tables. We opted for a nice patio table near the front of the restaurant. We were greeted when we sat and were provided menus. When our waitress came we ordered OJ mimosas and coffee. She came back and took our food orders. Since I had just recently visited SK in Carlsbad, I went for the same menu item. I ordered the short rib benedict (special request) with hash browns. My husband ordered the 2 eggs with bacon. So when my entree came out, I was disappointed how plain it looked. Totally didn't look as appealing as my last entree. The short rib was dry and my hash browns were a little on the mushy side. Our waitress came around to drop water off, take our order, drop off our food, and then dropped off our check. Very quick visits and we didn't get a visit to check in our meal. After I was raving about this place to my husband, he didn't think it was that great sadly. If you get a chance, head up to the Carlsbad location. You'll have a better experience and better tasting food. read more
stopped by this place during my trip and loved it! we went with the wild mushroom & spinach omelet as well as the crispy parmesan honey cured bacon, both were super good, these hash browns were cooked to such a perfect crisp as well, I was in love!!! super nice ambience on a busy street right next to the beach. we were seated within 5 mins when we got there around 10am on a saturday. our server was attentive and did rounds often to ensure our drinks were full and we were okay. parking is a bit difficult, but luckily we found street parking right in front :) read more

5/5 for the food, service, and location. My friends and I visited San Diego and wanted to grab brunch before heading to the water and decided to check out this place. I'm glad we did! We were a party of 8-10 and they were the most accommodating. Food: I ordered the Pear and Pancetta flatbread and a cappuccino. It was DELICIOUS. The portion was huge, so it's easily shareable with 2, possibly 3 people. They are generous with the pancetta, and the pear's sweetness really compliments the saltiness of the pancetta. The arugula was fresh. Service: Our service was amazing. Given we were a big party, they were accommodating. Our wait time was reasonable. They checked on us frequently. No complaints. They also had great recommendations for nearby excursions, which we really appreciated. Location: Close to the beach, so no complaints. Parking is alright as it's primarily street parking. If you come during lunch or dinner peak hours, you may have to circle around. It didn't take us too long to find parking. We walked a short bit. Overall, would definitely come back here if I'm back in La Jolla. The food was fresh, service was so nice, and they have a great drink menu. read more

The salad might be second to the best salad I've ever had behind the watermelon summer salad at Sweet green in Carlsbad. It was the right amount of sweet and savory flavor. My daughter enjoyed a breakfast plate Salmon Benedict. Service was quick and the restaurant ambiance was nice. Only bad thing: the bathrooms were not kept. Everything else was on point. Fantastic Salmon, Shaved Fennel & Burrata Salad - portion was substantial. Salmon was cooked perfectly. I loved the pomegranate seeds and tasted macadamia nuts. I sat outside -- large porch area. And my server was terrific. Would definitely recommend. read more

place had been recommended by a few friends now, and i finally went for brunch on a sunday, added myself to the yelp waitlist around 10:15am, and got a spot for 2 around 10:30am indoors, so timing was quick and accurate per yelp! finding parking nearby wasn't the easiest but felt a lot easier than finding parking for brunch in la jolla cove!! server was super sweet and attentive and also gave us the option to be seated indoors or outdoors - we chose indoors because it was a heat wave day, and it was nice to be in shade and surrounded by fans. for brunch, was craving savory foods instead of their super unique sweet breakfasts (will do next time!) so ordered the seared salmon & baby kale benedict with hash browns and pork carnitas & poblano cornbread benedict with house potatoes. both were super filling and flavorful. the salmon was a favorite, so so flavorful of salmon!!! my order unfortunately only had one runny egg, and although the other was drier, was still pretty moist and yummy! also, the hash browns definitely outdid the house potatoes here! for drinks, ordered the caffe breve and coconut cortado, the latter of which is a coconut milk made in house. both were delicious - the breve was nice and light, and the the coconut milk for the cortado was quite strong in coconut flavor and sweeter than expected. the other coffees and cocktails looked super good and would definitely want to come back to try the other drinks! as good as this place was, it still didn't land a strong spot as my new go-to brunch spot in sd but it's up there for drinks, wait/reservation system, and if i strongly craved a specific item on their menu, like a salmon benedict or their pancakes and french toast read more

The food is incredible, but the service could definitely be improved. We came in here yesterday, a Friday morning for brunch. Towards the beginning of our stay, we had pretty good service. The drinks took a long time to make but that was the only complaint. When our food was dropped, the food runner dropped the plate and ran off. I needed ketchup and a missing ingredient so I waited until I saw my server or anyone else in our section. The person I was with finished half of their meal before I ended up getting up myself and going and asking for it. I was nice about it but both my server, and another server met me with hesitation as if I was asking for something unreasonable. The bummer is the food was great! But I don't think I will be back unless we're doing take out. read more

The best spot to have breakfast!!! Literally try it out!!! Super cozy, food is fresh, waiters are professionals and super sweet! Their coffee options are the best and coffee isn't cheap so GOOD!!! Their fresh squeezed orange juice is the best as well. At this place I have everything on point there was not a single thing that I did not like! read more

Food was delicious! Big portions on the beach bowl. My husband really enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. We sat outside and many people had their dogs with them, which the establishment happily accommodates in the outdoor seating area. Our waiter was very friendly! Be prepared to pay $20ish a head for breakfast. I would recommend. read more

We've enjoyed many brunches here! It's very dog friendly with lots of outdoor patio space that is covered in the shade and also tables on the sidewalk that are covered with umbrellas so that there is shade. They even have a doggie menu and bring a bowl of water out for your dog! The brunch items have all been very good, I especially like the Monterrey omelet. The service is friendly. There's also the Yelp waitlist, which I feel like moves pretty quickly even on a Sunday morning. It's a great spot! read more

I have been to Shorehouse Kitchen in Carlsbad in the past. I must say, both places have been very great in delivering amazingly delicious food. Shorehouse kitchen exceeded my standards for freshly prepared and delicious meals. The staff are very friendly and very welcoming. We were seated outside and we enjoyed the fresh breeze of air coming from the ocean. Overall, the location has a great atmosphere as well as the good prices of each meal on their menu. I am so excited that I have tried both places and I am known to be a very picky eater whenever I go out to eat. These 2 places have satisfied my appetite for good quality food. Highly recommended. Definitely, I will be back soon. read more
Make sure you use the Yelp waitlist! When we put our name in the wait was over two hours. The restaurant was packed so the service was a little slow but our glasses were never empty and it was worth the wait. Every dish that came out was delicious. I had the pork carnitas and poblano shortbread and it was one of the best breakfast plates I've had in a long time. Will definitely be back for another round. read more

Starting my morning with brunch from shorehouse kitchen! We were seated right away which i was a-little surprised about but definitely not complaining! We ordered the short rib egg and hash, salmon benedict with potatoes and steel irish cut oats with bananas, blueberries and pineapples. Every dish was delicious. I personally devoured the steel irish cut oats. At first I was worried about the oats being drenched in the syrup, but it was surprisingly not too sweet. The syrup was diluted and runny and it complemented the dish really well. I highly recommend this dish if you're looking for something hearty, a little sweet and extremely filling! Parking was tough to find, but the meal was well worth the trouble of finding parking! read more

Everything was great!! Service was amazing. Friendly waitress, always checked back with us, refilling the coffee. We ordered the chicken, egg on the brioche roll. Was totally amazing. The hash brown were crispy and delicious. The coffee was also delicious. Would definitely recommend this place. We sat outside. read more

No they do not. I do recommend their pineapple mimosa.
Is there on site Parking?
No. Street parking only, which can be frustrating in the summer. There's a free public parking lot at La Jolla Shores beach that's ~10 minute walk. Also, the #30 MTS bus stops one block from the restaurant. Parking tip: arrive for breakfast…
