Great coffee, great people, reasonable pricing, wonderful ambiance. What else do you want for having your morning coffee! Highly recommend!

Shoreside Bakery is a cute, yet sophisticated charming family-owned gem in downtown San Diego. They offer a fantastic selection of sourdough sandwiches, European pastries, and high-quality craft coffee. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and relaxing, with great options to sit either inside or outdoors. It's the perfect spot whether you're a tourist exploring downtown or a local looking for a unique coffee drink and a chill city vibe. I highly recommend the Juice: A total must-try--so yummy and unique! The cafe mocha presentation is beautiful and truly inspiring. Jason was super welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend the turkey sandwich, and if you're into chocolate, they make an amazing thick chocolate filled cookie that's oh so delicious... among other yummy, unique European desserts. I was pleasantly surprised and so were my taste buds!!!

Amazing experience! I've been wanting to check this place out since they opened and happened to be near by today. Breakfast wrap was amazing, the cakes were fresh and not too sweet( which is a main criteria for me)... ahh and the coffee! Their coffee is just soooo good ! Everyone was super friendly and positive. I will be back!

Food here is superb, every bite feels homemade, full of flavor, and made with real care. You can truly taste the quality. The ambiance has a cozy European charm: warm, inviting, and effortlessly genuine. The team greets you with a smile)) Yes, even at 6:30 am -- I checked!... lol You feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and friendly service make it all come together.

Mango passion fruit cheesecake & an americano
    Abigail L.

I have season tickets to the symphony in the afternoon and usually arrive downtown quite early. It's become my routine to stop in here and get an americano and a slice of something. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is always kind and prompt. I order to eat there and they give you the nicest mug and tableware I've had at a small cafe. I've tried the honey cake (fantastic!!) and most recently the mango cheesecake. The cheesecake itself was just fine but the fruit gel on top was texturally off to me and very bland. I was excepting a punch of flavor, it being named mango passion fruit and all. But it had almost no flavor aside from the coconut sprinkles. The coffee is always good! I think I missed the mark in ordering the cheesecake. I'll continue to go as it's just around the corner from the symphony hall and is actually open on Sunday afternoons unlike a lot of places downtown. I haven't tried their breads but they look phenomenal and they even sell sourdough starter! I've not eaten any of their savory foods but they also offer sandwiches and such if you're wanting lunch. Definitely worth stopping in if you're downtown.

Stopped by Shoreside Bakery and got the Napoleon cake - absolutely amazing. Perfect layers, fresh taste, and not overly sweet.

Prosciutto and mozzarella toast with fig glaze (to go)
    Danielle S.

Love this spot! They have a great little menu. It's gourmet fur sure. I haven't tried the gourmet tuna with caviar toast yet but that's next on my list. I was craving their prosciutto mozzarella toast with fig glaze again. So delicious! The freshly baked bread is to die for! For those who are gluten free, they have that too. There are lots of sweet treats - I've never even seen a Dubai cheesecake until today. I'm going to need to try that to! Can't wait to try everything on the menu. The people are great here - very friendly and make you feel really comfortable. The ambiance is beautiful - the music, the decor. It's just a perfect little spot.

It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.

The food was amazing! In particular, I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle tower and their roasted chicken hash. I was surprised they didn't include a side of butter along with their biscuits, but I'll probably just ask for it next time. One important thing to note is that their dishes are HUGE. All 6 of us had our own dishes, but I would highly highly recommend ordering a couple dishes and sharing it family style if you're dining with a group. One note I did have about Hash House is how overstimulating the menu is lol. The menu had a lot of clashing fonts, colors, and clip art images, it made it hard to digest the menu. I didn't even notice some menu offerings because of how busy the menu was. Also, our waitress did initially charge us for 6 coffees, even though we only had 3. It was a good thing we caught that error on the receipt before paying. Overall, the food at Hash House is definitely worth coming back for.

From what I could tell, there was only the bartender, one server, and possibly the manager working the floor. There may have been another employee, but regardless, they handled the rush incredibly well. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and kept things moving despite being clearly understaffed. The place itself is super cute and has a really fun atmosphere. There are TVs everywhere, making it a great spot to catch a game, and they have a nice craft beer selection. What I ordered: * Chimichurri Sliders ($16) - One of their specials. You get two sliders with no fries, so I'm not sure how much of a "special" it really is. They were decent, but nothing memorable or worth going out of your way for. Overall, I'd definitely come back to grab a beer and watch a game because the vibe is great. Food-wise, though, I found it pretty mediocre for the price. Burgers are around $25 with fries, and the appetizers (or "bites") range from $18-$25.. I was still hungry after the sliders and wanted to order a side of fries, but they don't list sides or prices on the menu, so you have no idea what anything costs. I ended up passing because they only offer steak fries, which just aren't my favorite. One big bonus is that they're dog-friendly, which I always appreciate. If you're looking for a fun place to watch sports, enjoy a beer, and hang out with friends, I'd definitely recommend it. Just don't come expecting the food to be the highlight.

You can't come to Richard Walker's and not get the Dutch pancake. We went with the Apple Pancake (the fan favorite for a reason) and it was honestly out of this world. We also tried the Belgian waffle, which was exactly how it should be: crunchy on the outside and delicious throughout. What really blew me away, though, was the service. They have protein pancakes that are low calorie and gluten-free. And, they taste pretty good. Not as good as their regular pancakes, but, good enough to satisfy my pancake craving. I have breakfast there one or two times a month. I always have the same thing - protein pancakes and decaf coffee. And, the portion is so huge that I take most of it home and have the pancakes for breakfast the next several days. Enough about the pancakes. Let's talk about the service, which is what compelled me to write this review. A few months ago I sat down and my server, Erick, came up to my table and said, "Protein pancakes and decaf?" I was blown away! He remembered me and my order. I am not that regular a guest. He is just that amazing. And, it doesn't stop there. A few minutes after delivering my food, he brought a to-go box, because he knew I always take most of my meal with me, and I'm always in a hurry. That's not great service - that's extraordinary service! At one to two times a month, Erick makes me feel like a 5 day a week regular. I wish I could give Breakfast Republic 14 stars; 5 for having protein pancakes, 4 for their taste and 5 for the extraordinary service.
