Such a quaint and great little spot! Came here for breakfast with a party of 10 and they quickly accommodated us. Service was very friendly and quick. I ordered the chicken quesadilla lunch special and it was delicious -- the portion was generous as well. Everyone else ordered breakfast meals and they all looked so delicious! The portions were huge and everyone commented on how fresh and delicious it was. Place was cute and clean. So this place is right next to the Publix that I frequent. It honestly does not look like much from the outside so we never really though to give it a try. Today was different! We were hungry and it didn't look too busy so we wandered in. They had water outside with cups which I am assuming is for the busy days when the wait is long. Very nice gesture! The place is extremely clean on the inside. It is small but it is laid out very well so you don't feel like you are sitting on top of anyone. The staff are awesome! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a handful of waitresses and the hostess/greeter. Very welcoming, we knew we wandered into the right place. We were seated and not even 2 minute later our waitress (Lynn) came right to the table. I love Lynn. She was amazing! Cute, spunky, older woman that reminded me of my late grandma. Always making us laugh. Any chance she got she made a joke and it was adorable! We had everything you could think of for breakfast! Eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, home fries, pancakes, bagels, toast, coffee. All delicious. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Pancakes were cooked perfectly, a little crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! The toast was perfectly toasted, the home fries were not overwhelming with a million ingredients, the bacon was cooked to a crisp and the sausage was beyond tasty! They also give you a slice of orange on your dish which I love. Short stacks you may not look like much but mama always said "never judge a book by its cover" so you will be our go-to breakfast place from now on. read more

Look - the food was decent. I like to start with a positive. The service was unremarkable, however. Ordered coffee, asked four times for a refill and it finally came when we were finished with breakfast. The worst part and the reason we wouldn't return is that the owner came out, and spoke with us. She mentioned California and I said - "who wouldn't want to live there?" And she made a few comments about "those people" meaning liberals and said that between high taxes and "those people" she wouldn't want to live there. Well - we just so happen to be "those people" so she obviously doesn't want the business of "those people". What is happening in this country when business owners get political with their patrons. Talk about stupid. But we considered the source, paid our check and vowed to never return. read more

I stumbled upon this restaurant as I was looking for a UPS shipping store. It's in the plaza just next door. WOW! I must say this very charming mom and pop operation was absolutely fantastic. Better than any commercial franchise breakfast place I've experienced. Great food and prices and outstanding customer service. The servers all work ad a team and pool tips and this is truly a benefit to the service. Not one server walked by without checking one. My son asked to try a new place for his birthday breakfast, so I found this little spot along our way today. It was a quiet little spot when we got here with a few patrons, which I expected for the middle of the week. Little guy ordered a pancake which he exclaimed was delicious. I had the Irish Benny, it's been a long time since I've had Real Corned Beef hash.. it was very good. The service was a bit slow to start and I had to ask for drinks from a random waitress prior to getting our actual one. All in all it was a pleasant experience and we will be back read more

I take my kids here as often as I can. My oldest son says they have the best burger he's ever had. Everything we've ordered has been amazing! This place was underwhelming. Nothing here stands out or makes me want to return. The atmosphere/decor is okay, the service is adequate and the food is just okay. Nothing worth the price for breakfast. My omelet was a little watery, my hash browns we're not hot when served. I would like to support a small business but this was just not worth coming back for. All I can say is WOW.....DOUBLE WOW! We were up here doing business and had some time to kill so we stumbled upon short stacks. We were pleasantly surprised to find such an elegant breakfast and lunch restaurant and we score. Their chicken tortilla soup was amazing off the charts and they are Philly cheese steak which is what we split was real no fake meat no fake anything everything was the goods. Very moderate price is worth every penny if you want any excellent lunch and you're anywhere near here go out of your way to come here you'll love it read more

We went here yesterday for breakfast. We even drove around to the other side of the parking lot to get there with the construction. It was after 11am. The place was pretty full. We waited about 10 mins for a table. We ordered and I swear we waited over 40 mins for breakfast. It was crazy. All the tables around us ordered and nobody got their food. It took forever. Most of the food was ok. The pancakes were horrible. They honestly just tasted like batter. read more

Short Stacks is a great alternative to the chain breakfast places like Denny's or IHOP. They have large portions, good food, and friendly service. We had a short wait on a Saturday morning, the restaurant itself is fairly small. They have a nice selection of specialty pancakes, combination platters, and even some lunch items. I had the 3x2 combo, which consisted of three eggs, four pieces of sausage, homefries and pancakes. The sausage links were huge. They weren't the wimpy little links you normally get a breakfast place. The homefries were perfectly cooked, nice and crunchy. The pancakes and eggs were definitely above average. I had to take half the meal home it was so big. My husband had the Cajun Breakfast, which he loved. The Andouille sausage was fantastic. Smothering it with the peppers and onions was nice. His only complaint was that the grits were too thick. My son had the French Toast and bacon kids meal which he really enjoyed. The service was great. The server was attentive, friendly, and prompt even though they had a pretty brisk breakfast crowd. The three meals plus two coffees, a small juice, and an extra order of bacon was $35. A little high for breakfast, but we left with two boxes full of leftovers. I wouldn't hesitate to return, though. A great overall experience. read more

Breakfast was good. Biscuits and gravy are to die for here. The mimosas hit the spot, but the Bloody Mary mix was not good at all.

We were in the area and needed a breakfast place close by. The place is in a Publix Plaza and is clean with minimalist decorations. Staff is friendly and attentive. However the over cooked eggs and cheap greasy bacon were extremely disappointing. I could have overlooked the eggs but the bacon was really BAD. The cheese hashbrown casserole was ok but slightly undercooked. Pancakes were large and tasted off, maybe a different type of batter than we are used too. It was a nice touch with the warm syrup. The biscuits and gravy were delicious but the disappointment of the other items were enough to say we wouldn't be going out of our way to return. read more

I had just got done running a 5K and I was starving, so we tried Short Stacks. We were seated quickly and the server came right over. I can't remember the name of what I ordered, but it included: eggs, pancakes, bacon, home fries and biscuits and gravy. SO MUCH FOOD! It was only $10.95. I got my eggs scrambled, I will say of everything, these were my least favorite. They had zero taste to them and seemed to be overdone. Everything else was excellent. I loved the gravy. I have been here twice and ordered the Eggs Benie both times, both to my delight. The first visit was traditional and today the spicey with chorizo. Eggs had a perfect run over the English muffin... ahhhhhh. When I asked the waitress about a side recommendation, she did not hesitate. Their pancakes are to die for, and I don't even like pancakes. The difference is the little bit of cornmeal they put into their batter; it's a game changer! They also make great leftovers, since I can never finish my meal here. The hash brown casserole is so yummy and creamy and cheesy. I've been here a handful of times now, and their food is consistent. My hubs has had some Benedict's, French toasts (regular and croissant); I've had a half biscuit and gravy (such a fluffy biscuit!), and standard breakfast platters. Their service is also consistent, with friendly servers. My only complaint is that the wooden backs of the booths aren't very secure, so they do wobble a lot if the person behind you is moving around and it can get uncomfortable. read more
