First time customers but we'll definitely be back. We live across the street from the pancake house but the wait was too long. So we made the drive down the street to Shortyz. We placed our order, chilli cheese omelette with a shorty stack and my old lady got French toast. We also placed a couple to go orders for when we were done. They cleared a table for us and our food arrived promptly. Everything was fantastic. My omelette, pancakes, French toast everything. There was a slight miscommunication on the to go orders. My husband and I tried this place on a whim one day for lunch. He got the bacon breakfast burrito and I got the ABC Burger (Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger. The burger comes a la carte so I ordered a side of fries & drink for $2.95 extra. Over all a solid place to eat. My burger was really good. I would go back and order it again. Got there right on opening, first item out. Chorizo BB for takeout. Came with a good but somewhat salty Pico de Gallo. Total was $7.10 and it weighed in at just over a pound. After moving to Placentia from Brea I wasn't that familiar with the smaller restaurants in the area, but Shorty'z was one of the first places I tried. I moved here almost a year ago and I cannot count how many times I have come here. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner....it's all amazing. There are so many options for people with different diets (herbivores, carnivores, etc) and not once have I been disappointed with my order. You get a TON of good, which for the price is fantastic. If you dine in, the staff is super generous and always comes by to top off your coffee or make sure you have everything you need. I'm glad I didn't change my mind when I got there. I am unfamiliar with the area, so I internet searched for breakfast near me and decided Shorty'z had a good enough rating to spontaneously visit. When I pulled up it looked a little creepy outside due to their neighbor spots boarded up and with "no trespassing" signs. I nearly decided to say yikes/screw it and find somewhere that didn't look that way. But inside is just a happy little breakfast and lunch joint with amazing prices and delicious food and a superfriendly staff. I wish I brought a few more dollars to tip with! I was so excited to try this place because it's so close to home and it's always popping up on my Yelp page so I knew I needed to try it. This place is in the Target parking lot and across the street from Twin Dragon and Taco Bell. I came around 11am and this place was poppin! There were hardly any tables inside and there were maybe 2 small tables out on the patio. There was also a little line but that didn't slow any of the workers down. The girl taking orders was so quick and we got helped probably less than 5 minutes from when we walked in. The prices are awesome too, totally reasonable and the amount of food you get is pretty good. I didn't leave here with a food coma status, where I kind of regretted my life decisions but instead left happy and content. We ate here But you can also take it to go OR call in your order and pick it up which is pretty awesome too. Our food came out in about 10 minutes which is awesome considering how many people were there. Our food was hot and delicious! Oh and You get refills on your drinks. I also like this place because it's one of the few places that actually serves breakfast past 11am. But sadly they're only open until 3! I've patronized this establishment going on 7 months with my last visit being about 3 days ago. Far from great but respectable. Burgers for some reason are served luke warm at times. Hash browns are usually over cooked but I don't order breakfast enough for it be a real issue (lack of focus by the cooks). Asked for a side of chili which they usually have no problem providing. But on my last an final and visit, I was told it could be done. I guess $0.30 (my guesstimate) of chili is worth they relationship with a customer. I never spend less than $11.00 (due to overpricing) but that $0.30 is worth the risk. Who knows. Businesses have forgotten that relationships far outweigh profit....at least it used to read more
