Bomb breakfast for the whole family. Great value, fantastic flavors and quality ingredients. Get the meaty breakfast burrito with corned beef hash added in. You won't be disappointed.

I was looking for a new breakfast spot and found Shorty's. A nice simple diner/deli feel where you order at the counter (nice variety) then choose your own seat (inside or outside). Service is friendly and fast. I was greeted warmly by Jackie who radiates helpfulness and joy to be sure your order is customized to your liking. Such a pleasure to meet happy people who love what they do. I ordered the breakfast combo with their seasonal pumpkin pancakes. The combo came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices, and 2 sausage links. Their hot tea was soothing and a delight with honey packets on the side. Overall a wonderful experience with a great price. Thanks Jackie & Shorty's - you welcomed in a new customer who will be back.

First thing is first, the customer service here is outstanding! They greet and welcome you in with a smile and care. The seating area is huge and spacious. The decor inside is very appealing. I ordered a burger which was so beautiful and tasted unlike any other. 10/10 for the burger. The meal came with fries and those were delicious as well. French toast (7/10) was pretty good, they give good portion of slices. This place is semi pricy but all the best flavors and service is there! Great place. Definitely recommend.

I have been going to Shorty'z for years, usually for breakfast on a weekend morning when nothing at home sounds good and I'm about to go run some errands. They have a great variety of menu items with many options for both breakfast and lunch. I usually get the two eggs with bacon combo, but I have also had their french toast, pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches and everything is always tastes great and the portion sizes are good. The service is fast and friendly and it is nice to always see a lot of the same faces there when you visit. The owner is a big LA Kings and hockey fan. There are some hockey decorations on the walls and the TVs will often have a hockey game on. They are located in a pretty large shopping center, but they are the first business if you enter the center on the east side. They are in their own building (the unit next door has been vacant for ages) and there is a good amount of parking out front that is pretty much dedicated to them. There are about six booths and six tables inside as well as a nice enclosed patio outside with a good amount of seating which is great when the weather is nice. I am sure I will be back soon.

This place is a 5 minute walk from my apartment, and after they took over the place called Golden Ox that used to be here, I've been wanting to go. On my 1st visit, I got the BLT with well done fries and my girlfriend got the Spinach&feta breakfast burrito. The BLT was pretty standard, though i was impressed that they didn't cheap out on bacon like most places do. I didn't count how much there was, but it was enough to bite a couple strips in each bite. Im not a fan of feta, but my girlfriend said her burrito was tasty, especially with the salsa they give you with it. My only gripe with it is my fries were a little soggy, far from well done. But still, awesome overall. I went for the 2nd time today, and got the patty melt. I totally forgot that I HATE rye bread (the guy even told me thats what it comes on) and american cheese (which is standard for patty melts) so I didn't like it too much. The patty was really delicious though, juicy and flavorful. It was totally my fault I didn't like it, and im planning to swap out the bread and the cheese when i eat the other half tonight. BTW, this might not matter to most people, but the ranch here is something else.. Its literally THE BEST ranch I've had in a long long time. I don't know what they put in it, but its freakin delicious! Considering Shortyz is so close to my apartment, has decently priced food, and great service, ill definitely be back again! read more

Went to this place about two weeks ago for the first time. I was not disappointed. The place reminds me of a charbroiler burger place but they are new ownership and they have changed it into more of a coffee shop/charbroil hamburger place. However, the service is stupendous and the food is exceptional. If you're into the old town coffee shop breakfast, come here. Their chicken fried steak and eggs are great and the gravy is even better. Nice crispy hashbrowns the way they should be made. I've been to this place several times again and will continue to come there. Give it a shot it is definitely worth it. read more

What's better than a great diner? One that's right across the street! We're regulars here and have yet to be disappointed. The service is wonderful, people are always smiling and happy to help. The food is top notch Comfort/American fare. My boys love the chocolate chip pancakes and I love the country fried steak for breakfast. Their onion rings are also always wonderful. My favorite foods here are so good that I haven't branched out much, but next time I definitely have to try the Truman Fries. read more

Shorty'z is the place to go for a traditional hearty American breakfast! I always order the corned beef hash, and it never disappoints. Prices are cheaper than IHOP, Denny's, etc. They offer a very extensive menu of staple dishes. Good cheap eat! read more

This place is awesome! We come every week to get their Fried Zucchini Fries. The gyro is my husband's favorite. He gets its every time. Everything on the menu is delicious. You cannot go wrong. And everyone working there is great. Wonderful service and such a friendly atmosphere. Must come here! Quick, easy, convenient and delicious! Yummo! read more

First-timers and out-of-towners, we visited on a rainy Saturday, late-morning. The place was packed! Cashier explained that we order first, then wait in line to be seated by the gal who was 'working the floor'. Small eating area - groups constantly departing and arriving. Excellent prices for the food. Simple Egg plate and Bacon & Egg plate were more than either of us could finish. Lots of interesting and diverse patrons! read more

First time (and last) here. I looked it up on Yelp and saw the great reviews but i was disappointed when my food arrived. The kids plates tasted like powdered eggs and my breakfast burrito had absolutely no flavor at all. If it wasn't for the bacon in the burrito I would have sent it back...I would have given only 1 star but the price was cheap enough so I give it 2. read more

Absolutely love this place! As a college student, It's nice to know that there is a descent breakfast place like this one near the CSUF campus. If you're tired of all the fast food breakfast restaurants near by, you have to check this place out. I'm glad I found this place on yelp, because as a small business owner, I love helping out local business, especially those that are dedicated to serving their customers well. I am in shock after what happened this morning. My mom is one of the biggest supporters of this establishment. She talks about how great their omelettes are (while my family and I can't seem to agree... Flavorless and over priced) My mom ordered her food the way she likes it... They couldn't seem to get it right. My mom called them and said the dry food wasn't how she ordered and paid for. The manager (who refused to give her his name) hung up on her and screamed at her. My mom went over there and he verbally assaulted and embarrassed her in front of customers. My mom was literally in tears because she's always loved their terrible food. After my sister called he said "everyone has their bad days". To me- that's not an excuse when you're running a business. I hope this place goes out of business. I can't seem to understand why they have such a high rating. I always say anyone could make this food at home... Nothing special. And you mysterious mr. owner... Shame on you. read more

It's really good food. They have breakfast and lunch. I wish I knew about this place before I graduated csuf. It's a good portion sized meal but I just wish they had breakfast drinks like juice or milk. They have a soda machine but I prefer juice or milk to go with my breakfast. It's still a good place though. The service is friendly and it's quiet which is nice for a morning meal. read more

I recently had breakfast at Shorty'z and was blown away by their country fried steak and eggs - it was absolutely delicious! The breakfast burrito was also fantastic. Love this place. They are right around the corner from the Yamaha School I take my grandkids for music lessons. I like to spend an hour here while waiting for them. Too bad they close at 3 pm. Or I will take me family here for dinner. read more

We had an issue with the male owner at this restaurant. My mother left in tears after she had a complaint about her overcooked omelette. He completely embarrassed her and told her to get out. This is not the way you handle business. read more
