I have been trying new places around my neighborhood recently because I've been wanting to support local businesses and not my usual spots (Chipotle, Pieology, etc.). This is the only reason I initially entered this restaurant. I had never thought much of it and I assumed it would be a pretty crappy place honestly. I was definitely wrong. I ordered the ABC (avocado, bacon, cheeseburger) and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had! Dare I say better than In and Out? It reminded me a lot of In and Out because they put Thousand Island on their burgers. I also ordered the combo (a drink and choice of side). I chose the onion rings. The onion rings were the only disappointing thing about the meal. They lacked flavor and the onion was shriveled up. I would only get them if you're looking for a ring of fried batter and not hoping for the full and fluffy package. My roommate ordered fries and a vanilla shake. The fries were okay but nothing special. Her shake was a pretty good portion and it tasted pretty good. It tasted like a milkshake my dad would make with vanilla ice cream and milk in the blender at home. The service was good. The employees were very happy and made sure to get us anything we needed. It took a little while to get our food, but only because they began making the food when we ordered it, which I really appreciate. Their breakfast food made my mouth water just looking at it. I will definitely return for breakfast in the near future. Overall, it was a great place with delicious food and genuine employees. I will be returning frequently. read more

This place looks a little sketchy from the outside but on the inside, it has one of those mom and pop family diner place feeling. The workers are very friendly and ask how we're doing and if everything is okay with our meal. We're not from around here but they do have regular customers that they know by name. The food is pretty good as well. I got the veggie burrito and my boyfriend got the corned beef hash. We also tried the Truman fries which was freaking delicious. I recently came in for a late brunch and even though they were super busy and had a long line, the staff still managed to welcome us with a genuine smile. From its exterior, it kinda looks sketchy but as soon as you walk inside it all changes, good change of course. They have a variety of choices as far as breakfast/lunch items go and the best part of it is that it's fairly cheap! For the amount of food I got and outstanding service I received, TOTALLY worth it. I can't wait to come back and have another breakfast here with some friends. The breakfast was average. Their theme is based on a Mexican culture but they don't even have salsa. They don't even repeat the order for instance today I went and I ordered a breakfast burrito. They gave me a fucking sandwich and I over heard the employee say to their boss that they repeated the order when they didn't. read more

We were paid attention to, and well taken care of throughout our meal. The food was delicious and reasonably priced! We had more food than we could eat and came out under $20. Passed by many times since I used to live down the street but have moved a couple cities away since. I thought I would try it out for the first time since I was in the area getting some car repairs and found it to be a definite GEM for the City of Placentia. Great menu, decent prices and the placed secured a "hometown" feel for a hometown city. Great dine-in seating not just the usual fast-food pickup and go deal (even though you can definitely still order their awesome food on the run). I own a small business and have 2 kids and my time is very limited. I travel Placentia Ave and always wished for a good breakfast place that was clean, fast, fairly priced with good service. (most of which cannot all come from the same place) I gave Shorty'z a try this morning and was greeted by atleast 3 employees, all of which seemed genuine, my order was very fairly priced and was bagged and handed off in less than 5 minutes. Went here on a recommendation from my sister and really enjoyed it! It was busy on a Sunday morning around 11am, but we were still able to snag a patio table. (It was chilly!) My husband ordered a bacon and ham breakfast burrito, I ordered the corn beef and hash meal and we shared a side order of chocolate chip pancakes. The wait was a little long to order (about 10min) and to get our food another (15min). The corn beef meal was delicious! I requested extra well done hash browns and warned it would cause a longer wait, but I didn't mind and it was worth it. Chocolate chip pancakes were SO good. The pancake was the perfect texture of crisp outside and soft inside. My husband liked his burrito, but it was a little too much egg...he said for next time he would just pay for extra bacon!
