First of all, the hara bhara kabab is $18 with just three piece and it's not even hara(green). It's a veggie cutlet and not tasty at all. In the website it shows 6 pieces and actual hara bhara kabab but it's not at all the same that they serve. They were out of stock with papdi chat....I mean cmon...out of stock!!!!! Complimentary chips is very oily. Dal makhni and M4 is good. Makhni quantity is just show off!!!!! Paneer kulcha is regular and nothing special. No taste at all. I have had Shosha bookmarked for a WHILE, well I jumped on the Holi celebration 11 course dinner. First I wanna say that I'm not sure if all of the things that we had are on the regular menu. Second, I do want to say that the amount of detail placed in not only prepping for this event, as well as the attention of the staff was wonderful. The food? It was amazing. Tradition meets ingenuity, my friends have come to show me some of the amazing dishes that hail from India, and I have to say the chef really brought the taste of India in all of these goodies. I had my first experience of bhaang during this dinner, and have to say I'm a fan! The presentation was delightful and magical. Farsan was wonderful... in fact there wasn't anything that I didn't like. I've come to know that sharing a meal, is also sharing a bit of yourself with guests- and I came in as a gust, but left feeling like I was leaving my Auntie's house. This place is overpriced for what we got. We arrived anticipating a great meal but left disappointed. The decor was is nice, the food is ok. Before ordering we asked the waiter about vegan options. He pointed out meat and fish items. We had to tell him what vegan meant. I was disappointed our gratuity was automatic, but this is the service we started with. Most of our food was too spicy. We ordered the daal, but there was no flambe show, even though that's what the menu describes. Our drinks were really good. We sat in a corner and you could see a lot of garbage piled up in the corner of the floor. Overall it was disappointing for the $300 we were charged. Was walking down Murphy St after the farmers market and stumbled upon a place I'd never seen before. I'm downtown Sunnyvale often, and honestly, find the dining options down there kind of disappointing, so I was happy to see a new place. Especially a nice, more upscale, restaurant instead of yet another bar serving bar food. The place feels kinda 60's, but I mean that in the best way. The decor is lots of gold, with crystal glasses, linen napkins, food served flambe. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our meal and will absolutely return. read more

Shosha really pays attention to details--from the beautifully plated dishes to the creative menu names to the use of liquid nitrogen for an eyecatching show, Shosha really tries to make your dining experience as amazing as possible. I love their pani puri shots! It's so hard to find pani puri at Indian restaurants in the South Bay so I was super excited to try them here. The presentation is beautiful! It comes out smoking from liquid nitrogen, and you get 3 flavors: mint, tamarind, pineapple I really like their dahi papadi chaat w/ savory ice cream too. Again, beautiful presentation and delicious flavors. It kind of reminds me of nachos! Don't pass on their dessert either. I got the gulab jamun ice cream (a little grainy but very sweet and rich) which I quite enjoyed. But the showstopper, (or "climax" as they call their desserts here) is the shuaag raat. The chef comes out and explains the story behind this traditional Indian wedding dessert for the newlyweds, and you get treated to a beautiful shower of rose petals on your table! It was our first time trying this restaurant last weekend and we are literally just getting ready to book again because it is the best Indian food we have had in a long time. I'm a pretty picky eater, as well as diner - while my husband is a restauranteur he says I'm very high demanding when I go out to eat, and this restaurant met all of my expectations with food, drinks, presentation, service, cleanliness, music, decor and ambience. We loved the gol guppa shots, my husband is obsessed with the Keema pao and my son and I devoured the entire paneer makhani on our own. Little guy is one and literally had more than he ever eats. We were there to support women owned and operated restaurants. We saw 4 servers on arrival. They were doing their job. One talking to customer, the only table inside. 2 servers were folding table cloth at the bar. Finally the fourth server walked toward us, my friend said two inside please. He passed by and said one moment please. After waited about a minute the female server gave me a sorry smile that we were still waiting. Finally we were seated after 5 minutes in a almost empty restaurant, by the server passed on us earlier. We didn't know what to order so we order the what popularon Yelp, the server only recommended one appetizer and we wasn't interested. On the arrival of our meal, a server gave us a smokey glass for decoration with a quick of his SOP speech, kinda like, this is not for drink. The curry of the butter chicken was too salty, we got 3 crusted chicken fried in a ball shape and tasted like chicken breast part. The garlic Naan has a great aroma and baked perfectly with fresh garlic. Lassi was perfect too, tasted fresh and consistency just great! 3 of this order filled me and my friend stomach and we were satisfied until realizing a chicken, Naan and a Lassi cost $40. Parking is plenty as its close to a lot of shopping areas and is in the Murphy Ave shopping row. This restaurant has both outdoor and indoor seating. We recently celebrated my sister's birthday with a dinner at Shosha. She had several of us meticulously search for the right Indian restaurant for this special dinner since there are hundreds to choose from in the Bay Area. Her criteria was a restaurant with a space that was classy and contemporary, that served classic Indian cuisine infused with cutting edge culinary stylings and finally a fun environment with a happy vibe for a birthday celebration. Through word of mouth, we were connected with Shosha! We were given a table for 10 for the 8 of us, the extra space was for our cake stand and party favors. The ambience was perfect, the food creations of Chef Mukesh Gautam were amazing...every dish served at our table kept us so intrigued and excited for the next. Chef Mukesh made several appearances at our table throughout the night which made our experience even grander. Another unexpected highlight were the very professional yet personable staff that waited on our party with sterling service. If your attention to detail standards for food, service and ambiance are high, Shosha will be up to par. From conversations with Chef Mukesh and some staff, Shosha has a lot more to offer beyond the printed menu. Food creations and prix fixe dinners can be created for special occasions. There are other areas in the restaurant to accommodate group events as well. Shosha is next level above the rest because of their all around superbness. The staff presented my sister with sparkling fireworks, several birthday songs played on the house audio and lighting effects went on throughout the main dining. Tried Shosha for dinner tonight. It has been open for 3 weeks now. A great spot for Indian cuisine with an upscale and modern reimagining. The atmosphere and interior design is beautiful. The servers were very attentive. The hostess placed a glass on the table and it began to smoke with dry ice and spices. This was used to set the tone for the meal and give the scent of Indian spices. They provided a complimentary starter of a fried cracker/breadstick and dipping sauce. The sauce was creamy with a little spice! We began with the Chicken 65 Tikka, it was tendor and perfectly spiced. For entrees we shared the chicken tandoori flambe, it came out with a flame and was as tasty as it looked. The chicken saag waala had the "home cooked Indian food" feeling that we know and love. It was cooked perfectly. There was enough to take home the extra. I booked a private room at Shosha for my mom's birthday and was extremely happy with every step in the process. The food was all delicious, especially the Dahi Kebabs, Jackfruit Bao, Veg Jalfrezi, and Hari Mirch Paneer. Navleen was very helpful in picking out the menu for our event, even taking requests for items that weren't on the menu but were something we felt our guests would enjoy (Chole). Each of the menu items hit a great balance between spice and rich flavors we expect from Indian food. Our group had a great time trying each of the cocktails available (and the fun way each of them is served -- try the Goa Connection!). The drinks were very unique and were one of the things we were most excited about. The presentation of the food was top notch from the beginning. The server introduced us to the restaurant's style by setting up our tables with an aromatic vapor while we enjoyed some appetizers. Navleen also let us know we could serve one of the desserts (Rasmisu) as a cake, which we took advantage of and when it was cake time, they rolled the cake into our room with a sparkler, which looked great in pictures. The cake itself was delicious, and was one of the rare situations where we had no cake leftover. 10/10. This place is so creative! Such fun takes on Indian street food! Everything was so delicious and stunning and honestly entertaining. It was such a unique experience and we loved it! The owner even came over to explain some of the dishes to us and let us try the papadi chaat. This one truly blew our minds! Went to Shosha for their Valentines special event. The advertisement and concept was really cool - a 7 course meal celebrating the 7 wedding vows (Saat Vachan) with a reminder of each vow. Unfortunately the execution left a lot to be desired. The event took place upstairs and it was packed so tight that it was difficult to move around. Once you were seated that was it. Also the decor was not elegant or inviting at all. As for the food, I will say some of the courses were delicious but the event was short staffed so the food was not hot when it arrive to the table. And they didn't bring the food for the table so I am vegetarian and my husband eats meat so in some courses he got his food first and mine didn't come for 5-10 minutes later. The food was ok - but overpriced for what we got. I love the concept of the private event and special celebrations but it was not executed as advertised - there was no reminder of each vachan and while there were live singers it was so packed it was difficult to hear the singers over the noise. read more

We had dinner booked via the app and were able to get in quickly. We were greeted by the host and in 5' minutes, she arranged a seat in the middle spacing between two tables. I informed the manager and he tried to increase the temperature and make it warm. IT is my first time and I had read the review of people raving about Dahi Bhalla with Ice cream & Pani puri shots. We ordered both of the curtain raisers along with Soya Kababs. To the taste Dhai Bhalla chat was good, typical flavors with some twist of Ice cream to give a twist was appealing. Can't whine about Pani puri, I liked them, the mango shot was killer, love it. Soya chat presented very well, colorful, the dip was very palatable. Service - in one word " pathetic" I would propose that the owner of this place train the staff with basic restaurant etiquette. Firstly, it was cold, we expressed that I and my husband are feeling like we are sitting in an igloo it was that freaking nasty breeze and nobody cared the second time. The table is so tiny, and the waiters were on our heads cleaning the table and making room for the plates & appetizers. We went to the place at 7:10 PM, and the manager along with waiters are repeatedly pushing us to place ala carte order. We hinted to them that we need some 5 mins as the appetizers just arrived but the aforementioned manager did not respect our privacy. We finally chose to ask him for a recommendation for veggies and he recommended Two curries. We went ahead and order Jalfrezi which was creamy watery gravy, salty and savorless and the veggies were uncooked & had a raw smell from mushrooms & broccoli. Now the worst part is to give them a Negative review: If you are running a $$$ restaurant please educate your waiters and severs to not pipeline two order together especially for the vegetarian customer. The server had lamb chop along with veg food and held the tray down closest to me while leaving veg food on the table. It was the unprofessional experience I ever had till the date. Even after the blurting out this to the manager, he just said sorry and did not give an option to bring the fresh food. For an upscale Indian food firstly one has to learn to make a perfect tomato base and decent garlic nan, sadly this restaurant sucks with the taste. Typically in upscale restaurant the manager/ waiter goes an extra mile to compliment with desert or waive off from the check. This review is for the buffet brunch - overall it was a disappointment, not worth even half the introductory pricing they had it for. We went in around 12 PM, the food was spread out right at the door. As you walked through the options, it was obvious most of the food was sitting there for several hours, heating continuously and refilled occasionally. Most food items were dry, due to constant heating. The options were very limited, taste mediocre compared to the Ala carte menu I have had before. The only thing we truly enjoyed was the welcome drink.
