Very good food. Me and the bros had some fun eating. Sign said children left here with be sold as slaves, so that's a perk if you have a child you don't like. Overall food was yummy. Good experience before we shred on the mountain. Over all it was ridonculously good!

Fantastic breakfast spot before skiing! The service was super quick and they were very nice. Everything on the menu looked good and wasn't overwhelming. My favorite was the sandwich and tej hash browns

Shotgun Willies Cafe is located on the main strip in Red River, NM and is in walking distance to the Lift House. Don't blink, otherwise you may miss the tiny building position to hold up an entire corner. The service is friendly. You walk up to the counter to place your order and return a few minutes later to pick up your food. The decor is an array of pictures, quotes and jokes on the wall. The menu is simple and there is a direct view into the kitchen, where the Cook seems to use one skillet top grill for all items. This brings true life to the term greasy spoon. HaHa! The food is pretty good though. Food Review: Breakfast Sandwich on a Bun - large sausage patty on top of an egg with cheese folded inside of it, resting on a buttery lightly toasted bun was delicious. It was one of my best breakfast items on this trip. Hash Browns - average cooked and tasting. They were just ok. They were crispy and fully cooked though.

Very friendly and welcoming crew. Ordered breakfast burritos to get fueled up for a day on the mountain. They were outstanding and huge. What a great start to the day. Highly recommend you try one.

As a Red River local I frequent Shotgun Willie's A LOT. They've got the best breakfast burrito in town (smother it with green chile). Favorite item? The Wheeler Pita or the homemade green chile chicken soup in a bread bowl. Staff is always friendly. read more

I am a local and I love this place! I get breakfast here at least once a week. I would recommend the breakfast burrito. It is my favorite. It is a large helping with plenty of food to get your morning started right. You can dine in or order carry out. Give it a shot while you are in town! read more

First of all, go here for breakfast! If you like green chili, and if you are coming to NM you should, I suggest the breakfast burrito smothered with the green chili sauce and cheese. It is the best thing I have had so far in Red River. They have some good lunch options too(brisket burrito again with the green chili sauce), but breakfast is what I think of when I think of Shotgun Willies. I will be hitting this place again before I leave. read more

I wish I could give a better review but due to the fact that the biscuits were inedible I can't give it more than a 2. There was nothing light about the biscuits, I'm sure they were at least a day old and were microwaved to reheat. The rest of the breakfast was okay. (eggs, bacon and hash browns) read more

Biscuits and gravy are ok but gravy is the stuff you buy at SAMs Club and add water. Biscuits were not homemade or fresh. Disappointed.

So good. For breakfast eat the burrito with brisket and green chili peppers. Ordered on recommendation and then had it again two days later. Big enough I put a third of it on my husbands plate. Egg plate had perfect over easy eggs and hash browns. Went here cause it was literally the only thing open. Went back cause it was so yummy. read more

I arrived at the doorstep to restaurant at 1:52pm just as an employee put out the closed sign and practically closed the door on my nose. I stood there in disbelief looking at the sign that said they close at 2pm! Too bad, their food is pretty good, but I'll never go back (and I live here). read more

Established in 1990.

Shotgun Willie's has been a Red River institution for over 20 years. We specialize in BBQ, fresh (never frozen) hamburgers and have the best breakfast in town! We offer friendly counter service and are open year round to serve you. Family and pet friendly, Shotgun's is a great place to come in and enjoy some fresh hot food made to order or just stop in for a cup of coffee and hang out. Shotgun's is also the original home of the O.F.G's (Old Farts Group). This group, created by Carl Hodges, is a fun group of "Old Farts" that made Shotgun Willie's their original home. They tell stories, sing songs and tell jokes while they hang out and drink coffee. At one time they even had a key to the restaurant so they could come in at 5:00am to put the coffee on to brew.

Meet the Business Owner: Steve C.

Steve is the brisket master. He's a longtime resident of Red River who grew up visiting his grandparents in the Upper Valley in the 70's. He's worked in the food industry for the better part of 20 years and enjoys catering. Steve actually used to work at Shotgun Willie's Cafe as a cook before he and his wife Kelley bought the place! In his free time, he loves to ski and hot tub.

This place has the best meals for the best money in town. I have eaten here for over ten years and have to say that the new owners have moved it way up in quality. Breakfast is my favorite but don't sleep late because at 11:00am it is over. Make room for burgers and brisket! Steve knows his barbecue/grilling. And we just recently enjoyed their catering services too. Wow. Kind and generous service tops it off. It doesn't get any better in Red River. read more
