    Rueben

Stopped in last night for a bite to eat, wanted to try a local spot and not a chain. Service was great and food pretty good. I got the Rueben w/fries and hubby got chicken fried steak. Rueben needed for dressing, fries were hot n crunchy needs seasoning and the mashed potatoes were thick not flavorful. Two ate w/one soda for $38+$7 tip

Chicken fried steak. Corned beef hash with GREAT hash browns! Sausage patties. Biscuits n gravy. Etc.

From a 4 plus when they opened thru most of 2025. But - by the End of January 2026 we were both disappointed. We have visited this place a good six or seven times over the last year for B-L, and it was always excellent. The staff are awesome, the salad bar was superb, the food was cooked correctly at a great temperature and tasted wonderful. However, the end of January 26, we tried to go there and they were closed and we didn't know why. No sign. We returned the next week, and had breakfast and I don't know what happened - maybe cooks were a no show in show low. Super polite and fast service still occurred. Comfortable seating. But I'm Unsure what happened in the kitchen. Hash browns were white, no color, and thus tasted more like oil than potatoes. We both requested eggs over medium, and they both came out over easy with whites not cooked. In a bacon/egg sandwich OE just doesn't work well. But it was a good egg! The croissant was recommended for my brekkie sandwich and was good but the cook smashed it flat - that is a big no-go and defeats ordering a croissant. Don't know if I'm right or wrong and it does not matter to me, but they tasted like Costco croissants, which is great. I think they're fantastic for a commercial product and when heated up they are hard to beat. But I don't think this one was warm....they need to go into the oven for a few minutes to heat up the bread and liven up the crispy flaky nature. Sausage Patties were a little too brown/ overcooked this time. The Pancakes were delightfully still way above board though - delicious!!! We will return and hope the cook from before is back or that someone is overseeing the plates of food before serving them. (No updated photos). Their salad and soup buffet was excellent when we last visited! Please keep in mind that unless the owners are cooking at these places, or they have somebody there that is consistent and grounded locally, that sometimes keeping a good cook up on a mountain or in a rural area can be a challenge. I know this one and am forgiving. We always give restaurants a second or even third try!!!!

Eggs Benedict, and biscuit and gravy. Both were wonderful.

Food was wonderful. Service was good. Hubby loved his biscuits and gravy. My eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked. Will certainly be back.

Friday Fish Fry was really good. Tasty and worth the stop. Service was quick and the newly upgraded interior was nice.

    Traditional breakfast.

Traditional breakfast. Super yummy. Pancakes were light and fluffy!! Really enjoyed the coffee refills consistently! Small wait but worth it. Will be coming back. Really liked the renovations.

WELCOME BACK! We are here on re-opening day! Yee- Haw! This was a last minute lunch when we saw they are finally re opened today. The menu is a great mix of classic cafe goodies you would hope for when here. We ordered the Cobb Salad- so good! Lots of goodness! Very fresh and a great price for the size. The staff is learning and yet delightful. The restaurant is fully all new and clean! Come and enjoy all the goodness! Enjoy!

I had the best crunchy French toast I've ever eaten anywhere.

I had the best French toast I've ever eaten anywhere. Also had the breakfast tacos which were amazing. Our server, Nathan, was a delight. We'll definitely be coming back when we're in this area.

We wanted bar food so the hostess said you're in the right place. Then we got the bartender, Dana. My husband asked about their beers there (it's a brewery and he loves trying new beers) and she had the balls to say, we have Michelob Ultra FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU. I said , "excuse me" and she walked away. Like what does that mean?? My point to this post is DONT SPEAK TO PEOPLE LIKE THAT. And I know " you should have said something while you were there" hahahaha good luck getting any attention when you're "people like you." We were ignored the whole time. We paid our tab and left. Dana, NEVER judge a book by its cover. Sorry we didn't look Bougie enough for your establishment.

All I…read morewant to do sometimes is go to somewhere with standards yet also simple (in the best use of the word). I ordered the hamburger with lettuce, tomato and cheese and a side of seasoned fries. I wanted a medium-well, and although it was closer to a well-done, the taste was still excellent and the extras made it all better. The fries were definitely seasoned, it's a very peppery seasoning (and they went a little crazy with the amount) but it was pretty delicious. Another plus is that the portions are very large, I've never left Cattlemen's feeling less than satisfied. Usually, Cattlemen's has very good service... not for me unfortunately. I had to wait about 5 to be seated (totally normal) but I was seated and just ignored for a long time, the waiters/waitresses kept getting mixed up on my things (except for Sam, he was great) and it took a while for things I asked for (like a water) to show up. It's totally fine, not a deal-breaker for me but not the usual five star Cattlemen's experience. Inside is great. I don't know why, but I had never seen the gallery, and inside was a handful of artwork, averaging around $150 - $200 per work. The restaurant is clean and comfortable in many ways, and that's really nice to come to after a long day. To sum it all up, Cattlemen's is a great steakhouse and burger restaurant for anyone's tastes. I think this time was just a one-off and I look forward to coming here again. Thank you.

The lighting was a bit much with big rings of lights that seemed like too much. We started out with our friend ordering a specific dirty martini. It was a disappointment to him and he had it sent back to be made more dirty, and they also didn't have cocktail onions for it. They offered diced onions! Not the same thing at all and he declined them. Then they were out of baked potatoes already at 7 pm. For an extra $2 you could get a loaded salad with cheese, bacon, onions (didn't see any in mine). It was not the hearty salad I was hoping for, but was ok. My dinner was the smothered chicken breast, with cheese and mushrooms on top. I ordered the broccoli with garlic butter for my side. While it all tasted ok, there were 5 pieces of broccoli, 2 small chicken breast pieces with only one of them being smothered. The other one was bare. I asked if that was all the broccoli I was supposed to get and she said it was based on weight. The whole plate felt skimpy. The burger was supposed to be without a bun, but it came with it. The pork chops were tasty and the steak was done correctly. Service was fine. Overall, we weren't impressed. Maybe it was just an off night, but I think there are other places I'd rather go eat.

At dinner, each of us had one espresso martini. No one was intoxicated, slurring words, or behaving badly. We arrived together in a lifted pickup truck Uber. As we stepped out, one friend--wearing stiletto heels--briefly slipped on the gravel parking lot (because let's face it, gravel and stilettos gravel don't go together) She immediately caught herself and was completely fine. The moment we walked inside, we were met with the craziest hostility. The brunette behind the counter aggressively interrogated me and another friend about how many drinks we'd had and where we'd been. I fully understand that staff have a responsibility to monitor their guests for safety, but the condescending tone and confrontational delivery were entirely unprofessional. This rbf brunette was literally yelling at us for no reason at all. So as I'm trying to calmly answer all her questions, (even though her tone was rude as hell) she actually turned her chair away from me and began vaping mid-conversation. Yes--vaping. I'm like, are u really just going to turn around, treat me like a dog and start Vaping?! So I asked her to please turn around and at least look at me while I was speaking. But at this point, now I feel incredibly disrespected and ask to speak to a manager. So she rolls her eyes and yells for the "manager" to come in. I started laughing at this point because whoever came in was clearly not the manager... It was a blonde girl who appeared to be just barely 21 and had glowing neon paint drawn all over her nose, eyebrows and jaw, and was wearing booty shorts and some other raver attire. This chick looked like she was on her way to Coachella over actually managing an establishment. I wish I was making this up!! In all of the years that I have worked the service industry in my 20's (serving, bartending, cocktailing, in Scottsdale) I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect and hostility. At this point, my friends and I didn't even want to go in and spend $$$ there. From that point on, we were dismissed and treated like a liability rather than paying customers--all because someone briefly slipped on their own gravel lot. No one was drunk. No one was disruptive. We were simply asking for basic respect and professionalism. We won't be returning, and I strongly suggest others think twice before coming here--especially if you value being treated like a human being. I rarely leave negative reviews; most of mine are positive. But this experience earned every word of mine if not more. Final thought: If a place is this eager to judge, dismiss, and humiliate guests before they even make it past the entry, imagine how they handle things when something actually goes wrong. (Which I'm sure is a nightly event) And know they're going to somehow turn this around on us like it was our fault, so I'm grabbing my popcorn and will be ready for a good laugh bc this place was a JOKE!
