I heard this place had just reopened not too long ago, but I have to say, it wasn't that great. My son had chicken fried steak which was okay, but I ordered the turkey dinner and was disappointed. The top of the turkey was extremely dried out and crunchy on top, and no, it was not skin. The mashed potatoes were quite awful in the fact that my mashed potatoes were mostly peeling and I had to search to find the potato. The stuffing was okay. The deep fried pickles were pretty good and the salad bar was okay. It was the main meal that was a disappointment. We probably won't eat there again when passing through town. read more

Waited almost an hour for our food. My wife ordered Eggs Benedict with country potatoes. The potatoes weren't cooked and only warm. I had ordered a Chili Size, cooked medium with a side of fries. The fries were good but that's all. The patty was over cooked and charded on the bottom. I thought the bread was toasty but the crunchy was the patty itself. Kia has got to be the most rude person I have ever encountered in a restaurant. This is the only place on the mountain that has a full soup and salad bar everyday that they're open. The staff is friendly and helpful. Pros- The Portions were huge. The food is delicious and very filling. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The food is a little pricey but they make up for it with the large portions. Cons- There is no wifi, and the building is pretty old and actually makes it hard to even get on data which had me worried for a minute because I needed to get online to transfer some money over to cover my bill, but fortunately my data did come thru at the last minute. Overall: Not somewhere I could afford to eat on a regular basis but I could see myself coming back on occasion. Would like to try the Salmon sometime and I believe they had a Steak dinner as well. We stayed at the Days Inn-Wyndham Resort for two nights while visiting Show Low, Arizona. They do not have a breakfast service but, instead, give you vouchers to the attached Show Low Cafe. This system is infinitely better-and more delicious-than the cold cereal or make your own waffle from the other hotels where we've stayed. The service is friendly, fast and top-notch. The food is just like they describe on their sign-Down Home Comfort Food! The food was exceptionally good, portions dry large and served hot off the grill. We had 5 or 6 options for breakfast with our voucher from oatmeal to a good-sized omelet with choices of hash browns or country potatoes and toast, pancakes or biscuits and gravy! We tried the French Toast with one egg and bacon, the omelet mentioned, and Traditional Breakfast with one egg, bacon, toast (thick slabs), dollar pancakes (if silver dollars were 4 inches across!) and biscuits and gravy (which should have a monument to it). Friends ordered ham and eggs (so big it overlapped the plate) and 1/2 Egg's Benedict (because she's been here before and knew their size). We also came in one night to get the Apple Cobbler with ice cream which was ok for $4 and a cup of veggie beef soup-which was a large cup and really delicious for $4. I highly recommend the Show Low Cafe and, I know, we will eat here many times when we come up for the summer. Can't wait to try their dinners! read more

Both were ok, but not great or anything to get excited about. The French toast seemed prepackaged, not home made. The breakfast sandwich was disappointing being way too big (like the size of my hand & fingers spread out) & here I thought it was something I could easily eat while driving. The egg was very overcooked & the English muffin had such a plain grainy taste to it. It was also very dry & felt it laying in my stomach the rest of the day. Hi.. 3.5 stars for The Show Low Cafe. Very busy at 11am. Food was very filling. I had the Green Chile Melt and french fries. The fries are slightly seasoned. Both were slightly on the greasy side. I would recommend management add a creamy spicy sauce to improve the Green Chile Melt. It's currently a little bland without any sauces. Check'em out you might have to wait to be seated when you arrive. read more

Located in an unassuming Days Inn, this restaurant may be a bit of a surprise. You can enter it from the hallway inside the lobby or from some outer doors. Though all the fixtures are dated, and it seems untouched by the 2000's, the food and the wait staff are excellent. We ordered biscuits and gravy along with juice that came free with our stay. The amount of breakfast was copious and flavor as expected. Prices, if we had to pay, were more than decent at about $5-7 per dish. The juice could be larger though, as it seemed like a kid's size. read more

Found this place while driving on the main street in Show Low. I had the Denver Omelet and wife had the Eggs Florentine. The food was great and the servers were very attentive and friendly. However , the kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed and it took longer for the food to arrive which is why I will give 4 stars. Everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked very good . I've heard great things about this restaurant. Finally going there towards the end of the summer because I had to try it I was very disappointed. I asked for crispy hash browns and crispy corn beef hash and it came out soft and mushy with over done eggs.That in itself wouldn't be so bad but the server when I asked if they didn't get the message regarding the crispy items simply said they're doing the best they can. I'm very sorry or can I take them back and have them crisp everything up for you would've been wonderful but she was rude and ignored me for the rest of my breakfast. On top of everything else the pancakes stiff and hard and cold. I usually try to give restaurants a couple or several opportunities before I would write a review but in this case I one and done with this place. read more

I was seated immediately and my order was taken promptly. THe food arrived extremely fast however the country potatoes were cold. I sent the food back and it was warmed quickly however I only received 1/2 the potatoes I sent back. The green chili omelette was literally green Chili's in eggs. It was not seasoned at all and was not warm enough to melt the cheese on top. I changed my order to a Denver omelette at the managers suggestion. It was better. The staff was courteous, prompt and helpful. I had not eaten here in well over a decade. Ate here a few times, things were great at first but slowly deteriorated. Seems this place is not disabled-person-friendly because they would try seating us at a table rather than a booth as requested each time due to my condition. Their excuse is always "there are none available" when, in fact there is usually one empty. On our most recent visit, we drove 30 mins to enjoy a Father's day breakfast only to be skipped over. Their excuse was "we called you but you were not here." BULL! Then they once again tried to seat us at a table when we specifically requested a booth. Same girl, too. We witnessed a party who had been passed over as well. So, this is something that should be addressed. Mumbling out a name is not calling out. If you cannot speak loudly enough to be heard over the crowd then get a PA system installed. Give people the chance to realize they are being called to respond accordingly. People come because they are HUNGRY! Seems the staff forgets that. Waiting 20 mins doesn't make you less hungry. If you make a mistake, ADMIT and make it RIGHT! It is part of customer service. You may not want to be there, but that is not your customer's problem, don't make it theirs. The place was understandably crowded and busy but an entire dining room had been left standing empty which could have been utilized. I know the excuses, but that's all they are, excuses. Staffing needs to be better and a customer service ethic needs to be instilled into these people. Bottom line, I will never go there again. Very unhappy with the service and the treatment. Customer service is inconsistent at best. Staff should realize customers are not there for your convenience, you are at the CUSTOMER'S convenience. read more

The only reason I am giving two stars is because 1: they have a pretty amazing salad bar and 2: the waitress we had was working hard and was really friendly. Now for the reason they don't get more than two stars. When we walked in on Saturday before Mother's Day, the other shorter waitress that had pigtail buns was obviously having what I could only imagine as the worst shift of her life. She seemed so pissed off, I was praying we didn't get her as a server. My grandmother, aunt and mom all live in show low and my grandmother liked the seating area to the left of the salad bar. I have been a server, so I know that it may not be open, but I asked anyways if we could possibly sit there. The friendly server we had was trying to politely tell us it was closed, but the other rude server with pigtails or buns or whatever basically interrupted her to tell us NO in the rudest way possible. Great start. I said ok, no problem, and we asked for a table for 8 otherwise. We ordered, with most of us getting dinner entrees that included a salad bar, veggie, potato choice and dinner rolls. I don't think that the service was bad, again, because our waitress was quick, friendly, and was fast with taking orders, getting our drinks, etc. The salad bar we all got was good, with lots of options and everything seemed really fresh and good. This is where more problems started. The other waitress was expediting the food for us when it was ready. My uncle had ordered meatloaf but they brought something else out by mistake. The waitress seemed annoyed at us that the order was wrong, but whatever. My brother's chicken fried steak was ICE COLD and disgusting. I ordered a chicken breast and veggies, which consisted of the small frozen type of carrots and peas that I could have made at home. Yuck. My aunt's cobb salad was great, and my grandmother ordered some steak burger smothered in gravy. She liked it, thank goodness. I was so surprised that my mother's chicken breast, the same thing I ordered, tasted bland, cold and gristly compared to mine. We surmised that it must have been sitting out or something? An older cut? Who knows. But this is what it comes down to: poor service is never ok when you have that much of a bad attitude. Again, this is not OUR waitress but the other one who made me feel so unwelcome it made my skin crawl and I was embarrassed to take my family here, which I will never do again thanks to this waitress. I know that food mistakes happen, but overall the meals were just too inconsistent and some of the mistakes were just too basic. I am so grateful for the kind waitress we received, but overall I just feel bad for her, because she is one of the only rays of sunshine in that place. I hope we just caught this place on a bad day, but I still won't be back. read more
