Delicious food and friendly staff. I love the stuffed crab and fried shrimp basket!

Yummy steamed shrimp, shrimp coleslaw (who knew??), excellent prices. Looks a bit like a shack, but the food was great!

You don't expect much looking at the outside of the restaurant but the food and service was the best we had during our week in Gulf Shores. The blackened fish and shrimp was very good. Fried pickles are excellent. Even the AYCE shrimp was very tasty. My wife plans to go back tomorrow to have the crawfish gumbo again since it was so good the first time. I'm a fan. read more

The restaurant was not very busy, but it took a very long time to get our food. The food wasn't terrible, but at the beach there are so many other places that does it up right! Don't even think about having the hush puppies...very hard and heavy. read more

This restaurant should not have all you can eat fish. The first batch is four very small pieces and if you want another order it will take 20 minutes or more before u get 3 more tiny pieces . And the attitudes when you reorder is not pleasant. This happened at foley and Bay Minette. If you don't want people to reorder DONT HAVE A ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!!! read more

This place was really great, but a couple of things kept me from giving it a higher rating. First, the place was Ice cold and all of us were uncomfortable the entire time we were eating. Second, minus 1 or 2 of the wait staff, everyone there was pretty rude from the start. The place was so dark it was more irritating then intimate. As for food. I had the Shrimp Po'boy and it was pretty good. My son had the coconut shrimp and again very good. The wife had the Whitefish with Shrimp Ettoufee and it was good as well. The thing that stood out to me was that it was all good, but nothing was great. So I would say come here on a hot day. read more

Best fried pickles and corn fritters around! The fried chicken and fried fish baskets are both great, as well as their sweet tea. We have been to the Gulf Shores location and food is just as good, however we prefer Foley for less crowds. We order to go often and its always ready in about 10-15min, great food! read more

The food here is very good. We really enjoy the oysters on the half shell. My favorites are the fried oysters, gumbo and cajun redfish on rice. My wife usually has the fried oysters or shrimp or combo. Mussels and boom-boom shrimp are great. We eat out a lot. I only write reviews if the place is special and that does not just mean good food. We like our dining experience to include people we like being around. We eat out 2-3 times a week and with so many great places this is only the second restaurant we try to go to every 2-3 weeks. That is mainly because of our server; we always ask for, Christina. She is always smiling and immediately thanks us for asking for her. If we ask for something different, extra sauce, no onion, whatever it always comes that way. She makes sure of it before she brings it out. Our drink glasses never get below half before she is there to ask if we need more. I don't know how she does it because sometimes they are very busy. She is one of the very best we have ever encountered in the restaurant business and we eat at 5 star restaurants occasionally where this service is expected. We were looking for a casual place to get some good seafood and decided to try this place. I ordered the shrimp and grits (I ordered my shrimp blackened). I really liked this dish! It was simple and nothing fancy but so tasty. There was a nice amount of spice to the blackening which went well with the cheesiness of the grits. My husband ordered the blackened white fish plate and it was excellent also! I sampled a bite and found it to be moist and delicate with a nice, spicy kick to it! We went during the dinner rush on a Saturday night. Didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a table even though it was really busy. Fabulous service. Had our appetizer (cheese sticks - delicious) not long after our drinks arrived. Waited the typical length of time for our meals as you would expect to on a busy Saturday night. We originally intended on going to Lambert's and experience some 'throwed rolls' but after finding out they had a quoted 2.5 hour wait time with literally 100+ people waiting out front... We opted for this place right down the road instead. Very pleased with our decision. read more

Delicious food for a fair price. I usually get the shrimp alfredo, and it always has a LOT of shrimp in it, which is unusual. The food has always been really good when I've gone. The only problem I've seen is that sometimes service is a little backed up and disfunctional, but that happens anywhere occasionally so it's not a huge deal. read more

On 6 Feb 2014 I watched the cook stir a sauce with his bare finger and then lick his finger clean. If you order anything at this restaurant you should be aware of how nasty the cooks are in the kitchen. Could easily spread hepatitis or other diseases because they don't use gloves in the kitchen (violation of health code). read more

Our group of six adults ate dinner here and everyone was pleased. Grilled platters, shrimp, oyster and fish baskets with an assortment of sides. All hot, fresh and good. This is a casual diner, drinks come in hard plastic tumblers, dinner comes in a paper sleeve. Food served in plastic baskets. We will eat here again. read more

The food was ok for a chain restaurant, but the service was lacking. The server got one of 4 orders wrong and while I waited for my order my family finished their meal. I was offered a piece of key lime pie as appeasement. When I said no, just take my meal off the check our server said the manager wouldn't do that since I did eventually receive my meal and she personally paid for the pie. This isn't the best seafood in town, but for our family, the Shrimp Basket is "comfort food" when we are on the Gulf. We eat here at least once per trip. Raw oysters are good. I enjoy the fried seafood platter with shrimp, oysters, and white fish. Our table also had the steamed shrimp and crab leg dinners. Drinks are good too. Best sweet tea around! The food here was so good. I had no idea what to order as there was so many options. I finally decided on Red Beans & Rice w/ Conecuh Sausage and it was delicious. We also got the coconut shrimp and fried oysters. Everything was cooked to perfection. The waitress was very attentive and had a lot of good stuff to say. I really wish I could remember her name as I would give her a really good commendation. We went here this past Sunday and it is really a nice place. You can sit inside or outside(we chose inside) and its decorated really nicely. The food came out really fast and was hot. read more

It's your average fried seafood joint. Nothing spectacular, but since it's the only obvious seafood restaurant in the area, I suppose it would do if you had a hankering for something fried! Friday December 27, 2014 Have dined at Shrimp Basket many times Ordered fish and shrimp ($12+) Thick, tasteless batter on fish, two tail sections so thin and overfried, and laden with grease 2 shrimp, so small, had to peel off the coating to see what I was eating. Dinner came with 6 shrimp? Was brought 4 more shrimp, they were huge, with a light coating, and greasy. Was I being compensated, or were all shrimp supposed to be so large for this plate dinner? First off the promptness and hostess and waitress were very nice along with the manager but when he came around and asked how everything was we told him the corn was soggy his reply was well its steamed ,also the add on shrimp skewer was very dry ,also no extra sauces were offered ,never going back as the management just shruggs off what the customer says. read more

Disappointing experience all together given previous stars awarded by others. Being from New Orleans I expect a certain level of seafood on the gulf coast. They missed it here with seafood reminiscent of frozen seafood and small sizes. We ordered the fried oyster basket, grilled skewer shrimp, tuna dip, onion rings, fries and broccoli. I'd only recommend the rings, fries and broccoli. Way over priced for such a disappointing meal. And don't even bother with the canned tuna with mayo they call tuna dip. read more
