My wife and I have been eating here for over 30 years, the last three times, including last night have made the decision not to return, always enjoyed the jumbo fried shrimp and fried scallops, thought that it may have been just a couple of fluke visits, did not want to accept that the great food we had experienced for so long is now to say the least non-consistent and horrible. from shrimp not being thoroughly cooked through, to the shrimp and scallops being rubbery and overcooked the past two times. Think there may be a change of owners. Our server last night ( Male ) was very polite and efficient, however, the normal staff which we would always see and is exceptional was non existent. When I paid our bill I told our server of the issues we've experienced the last several times and his reply was that he would look into it, did not appear to be any management there at all. My grandmother LOVES this place. We are here maybe a month ago and we had a fish plate that include fried fish and fries!! Best fish I've had and WAY BETTER THAN big shrimp! I tried this place years ago and was disappointed. Trues again today and it was worst. Ordered fish n chips and a jumbo shrimp. BLAND Totally bland taste. The shrimps layer is so thick that it seems like a cover. The food seems like was 90% cooked in advance and they just shoved it in oil and delivered. There is al. Ist no seasoning on the food. The attitude of the manager is unprofessional. I ordered a Mothers Day dinner for my 98 year old mother and grubhub neglected to pick it up for delivery. After waiting 2 hours after the scheduled delivery time and attempting to get a the delivery made I was told by the "manager" of Shrimp House it's not his problem! Visited New Year's Day for dinner. There's plenty of parking so don't worry about that. We were promptly seated and our order was delivered super fast! The crew was super friendly and they have a wonderful menu, full of fresh fish grilled or sautéed, not just battered. We've been visiting the Shrimp House forever, going back to the original location on Peck and Valley. Though some faces have changed along the way, I am glad that the food has remained consistent, with the large golden fried shrimp remaining peerless. The staff has been very pleasant, matter of fact after not going for a while, I have gone on consecutive weekends (Saturday late afternoons/evenings) and you'll have to forgive me as I'm terrible with names but the nice lady who arrived and helped us (we were at the corner booth near Myrtle/Live Oak this weekend, we took my father with us this weekend) remembered us by face and even remembered that I had asked for extra cocktail sauce and brought it out for me. It's the little details like that that go a long way and have kept this place a family favorite over the years, I will update this when I get her name next time. Purchased Shrimp, Cod Fish and Zucchini for $32.65, food was HORRIBLE. Fish and Shrimp was Cold,no flavor and seemed as if it sat out. Spoke with the owner the next day he went back and forth with me about his restaurant food quality and that his cook had been cooking for 20 years. He insisted that my food wasn't cold that it couldn't have been non-fresh etc. END RESULT HE OFFERED ME A SMALL ZUCCHINI FOR MY EXPERIENCE. AT THAT POINT I HUNG UP IN DISBELIEF. I WILL NOT BE BACK!! The fish was very bland, not much flavor ( hence why she insisted we take lemon with our order when we denied it at first). The shrimp were butterfly shrimp and a good size, as well as the fish. The coleslaw was bland (we are not big on coleslaw so you'd just have to try it yourself). The veggies were good but bland. The French fries were the best thing on the plate honestly, not much salt but good.. maybe we're just used to our food being well seasoned.. 3 stars fits well with this place.. We live close by and go there fairly often with a restaurant. Com coupon. Saw them on tv the other night and decided to go there for a snack and try the items I saw on tv... the food changes they made on tv weren't really available.. no duel "fresh" clam chowder . They had the old one which is ok for me but when they say on tv that they are going to serve this superior fresher version makes me think they are liars... the waitress is cool.. so we had the popcorn shrimp.. again wasn't what I saw on tv except for the bed of popcorn on the bottom, none in the breading.. tasted ok because of the siracha mayo dip,. We just made a return visit to this little pocket of deep fried joy in Arcadia and we stumbled on something new, or at least something we missed the last time we were there. Under the "Starters" section, at the bottom of the list is a tasty treat that is delicious. "Four Cheese Lobster Mac & Cheese"!!! The cheeses involved in this gooey delight are: Havarti, Gouda, Muenster & White Cheddar! You would think that with all that cheesy flavor the lobster would be lost. That is not the case at all. You can taste every sweet chunk of lobster. This is a prime example that disproves the old wives tale that seafood and cheese don't go together. A word to the wise to the owner and chefs; quadruple the size and make it an entree and not just an appetizer! read more

Not that great. I tried the fish filet sandwich and my boyfriend tried the blackened cod. Mine came with 1 side and my boyfriend's came with 2. My sandwich could have used more tarter sauce and it would have been nice if there was cheese (both to increase taste); I've had better fish filet sandwiches elsewhere. My boyfriend's fish was a bit chewy and his rice pilaf and vegetable sides were not spectacular. We didn't notice the signs for Monday-Tuesday specials that we would have considered ordering; the servers should remind customers of any specials that day.
