We finally made it to this beignet place and loved it! The decor is adorable - part New Orleans, part Parisian charm. Prices are pretty high for a sweets cafe - about $12 to $14 per fancy item. However, we ordered basic, traditional beignets so that was just $3.50 for two which I felt was very reasonable. Beignets were perfection! Big, fresh and generously served on a bed of (metric ton of) powdered sugar. We arrived on the weekend. Beware they only sell their non beignet breakfast items until noon on the weekends. Other days of the week, it is served until they run out. We unfortuantely didn't make it in time to try their other breakfast but we did get the beignets sampler. They were fantastic! Like little doughy air pockets cooked to perfection. I recommend the sampler because they are very rich and the different flavors allow for your taste buds to get a rest instead of one consistent sweet flavor. They also offer coffees and speciality coffee drinks, juice, hot tea, bottled water, and complimentary water. There is seating inside and on nice days a couple of outdoor dining tables. The staff was friendly. When you walk in you order at the counter and then find any open seat. They will bring your order out to you. We've been to New Orleans and had the Cafe Du Mond and the Beignets here at their E. Main location smashes the ones down south in taste and size! These joints was piping hot and fresh and was still piping hot and fresh after a 25 min drive home. The young lady at the drive through was extremely courteous, kind, professional and on top of her overall business acumen. Although we got drive thru all we were talking about was how we can't come back to dine inside for brunch and bring the entire family as well. **Very Disappointed** As a chef, I had high hopes--but this spot missed the mark. Beignets were overly doughy with way too much topping. I asked to change my order less than a minute after placing it, and was told it was "already done" with no attempt to check the kitchen. The girl with the gold and red dreads gave off an irritated vibe when I asked just two questions as a first-time visitor. Customer service was poor. The gumbo? Honestly, it was a joke 1$15 for three tiny chunks of meat in a watery broth--bland and overpriced. $15, 1 expected flavor and substance, not something that looked and tasted like it came from a can. This dish should be priced at $5 max. GRAVY !!! They also served microwaved rolls soaked in butter-shriveling and soggy. I had high hopes, but I Wouldn't recommend. I've been meaning to go to their full restaurant forever, and then this opened closer to us and Sweetie suggested it, so we went- on a Monday at 1030am, so it wouldn't be busy. Parking is nuts, even without traffic. No parking right in front or nearby; meters down the block, or we found free spots across the street and down a bit. Nice space, with a patio, and cool decor inside. Good music. Order via the code at the table, and then they bring things out. They were out of a few things I would have tried, but had plenty of different kinds of beignets. We shared a sampler platter- one of each kind. They were all good, as good as ones we had in NOLA. And, most of them, bigger than the ones there. The plain one was a solid rendition. Sweetie ate most of the strawberry crunch one and loved it. I liked the bananas Foster one and the pecan praline. The Oreo one was smaller, and not really a beignet; think of the best fried Oreo ever, with chocolate on top too. Our coffees were just okay. The coffee itself was not strong, or at least not strong enough to hold up to syrups and cream and sugar. Not much flavor from the syrup either. Oh, well. It was hot and caffeinated. Service was good, though minimal. There are lots of interesting things on the menu. We'll be back. read more

Wow!!!! Kim provided such marvelous service and made me feel so welcome! This was my first time to this amazing shop/restaurant and I'm so glad my colleague recommended it. I went out for a walk on my lunch hour, and was happy to find this place two blocks from the Nationwide outpatient clinic on Main. I ordered the Oatmeal Bowl and it was truly the most delicious oatmeal I've ever had! Picked up 10 beignets to go for my staff. I also ate the fried Oreo beignet while I waited for my meal. I think I'm still on a sugar buzz. It was too sweet for me, but the staff ate them all! I'll stick with the hearty oatmeal and I'll try the eggs and potatoes tomorrow. I'll definitely be back!! Our first visit was very good. We had the breakfast bonnet sandwiched, breakfast bowl, bonnet sampler plate, and a kids breakfast. All very good and so much food we had to take some home. Saw they had crawfish etouffee and I had to get that go and that was the best I've had outside of NOLA. We will be going back soon. read more

I would suggest that if you're interested in supporting this business for you to tread lightly and understand that the owner does not care to completely rectify any errors made on their behalf. I ordered a total of 3 meals. 2 orders of shrimp and grits (one with cheese) and a kids southern breakfast. The shrimp and grits with added cheese was made with a excessive amount of cheese. I called to see if they could remake it without the cheese due to this and was told that, they were OUT of grits for the day and that the amount of cheese that was put is their normal amount and for that reason there was nothing they could do but to suggest that if I order it again with cheese for me to let them know I wanted a small portion of cheese. I found this to be very unhelpful and it implied that I had asked for extra cheese when that was not the case. I let them know that I understood that they were out of grits and if they'd be willing to compensate me for the following day. The associate then told me she could put the OWNER on the phone and I said please and thank you. I explained to the owner the situation she told me that she wouldn't be able to remake the meal because that was a lot of grits used no she will not remake with shrimp and peppers but she would be able to give me a side of grits with cheese. I let her know that's not what I wanted (especially because they initially put too much cheese so I did not want cheese again) and that the amount of cheese was as if I had asked for extra cheese and that this was their error. She began to over talk me so I cut her off by letting her know that she had lost a customer due to her poor customer service. It was so cheesy I almost chocked smh! No exaggeration. Not to mention I waited 20min for the order in the drive through. I know this place to be NEW and for this to be the way that the owner chooses to do business just shows the lack of care for the customers who choose to support this business. Not once did I ask for a refund or gift card I simply wanted them to correct their mistake and remake the meal as any other establishment would have with no problem but apparently that was too much to ask. read more

Very cute space. I parked a few blocks down on the street, not realizing until I left they have spaces in the nearby garage. I was told to order on the tablet on the counter - it was very easy to order & pay for carryout. I waited 10-15 minutes for my 4 beignets because they make them fresh. They were hot & delicious, although you have to shake the bag up since the powdered sugar falls to the bottom. They have a few outdoor tables, and also have breakfast selections, and coffee. Trying to keep in mind that it's the first week, it was busy on a Saturday, and their original location is so delicious. And honestly I'll likely try again in a couple months when things settle down. I parked easily in front of the building. You order from your seat with the QR code or at the kiosk at the front. It's not entirely clear to me if this is a sit down spot or not. I thought it was carry out, but since there were a lot of tables, I figured it was ok to sit and wait/eat. Some people came in with reservations and I had to move to a different 2 seater because I guess that specific one was reserved. There didn't seem to be a difference between people walking in and those with a seat reservation. Also, there's a drive thru! I ordered a latte and the Oreo beignets. You'll notice there isn't a picture of the beignets because I never got them. Unfortunately after 45 minutes I was going to be late to my appointment and I had to leave. They were super busy with the reservations asking for their tables and food and I couldn't flag anyone down to cancel my order. I ended up telling another table my name so they could eat my order while they waited for theirs. I am so bummed. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews but unfortunately I need to report this experience. My friends and I arrived at 1:15pm to have breakfast but were turned away. The website and the electronic board both said that breakfast items were served until 2pm. Mh friends and I spoke to two different people asking if there signs would be honored but were denied. They apologized and said nothing could be done and they were getting their signs updated. This is something that should be caught beforehand or honor your signage. I made a reservation for 3 people since that was suggested on the restaurant website. When I walked in, there wasn't anyone to seat us. There were empty tables, but each table could seat a party of 2. There were a couple larger tables that were already occupied so I ended up pushing a couple tables together. Needless to say, the reservation was pointless. You order on your phone. The food was really good! But the service could use some work (a few things forgotten here and there but not a huge deal).
