Although it has a high rating, it was slightly disappointing. I ordered the daily special Massaman curry and an extra coconut milk chicken soup. The Massaman curry had a sweet and salty taste, but the sauce could have been thicker. The chicken and potatoes didn't absorb the flavors well, creating a disconnect with the curry. The biggest issue with the chicken soup was that the broth wasn't rich enough--it felt watered down and lacked the creamy texture that coconut milk should provide. The spices were also underwhelming, leaving only a faint and bland aroma. The most surprising part was that an extra portion of white rice cost $3.9. Is it some kind of premium rice? I didn't taste anything special about it. Since I ordered an extra soup, they could have included more rice, or at least informed me that additional rice would be charged separately. Spending an extra $4 for rice significantly lowered my impression of this meal. For a restaurant whose food isn't particularly impressive, subpar service makes it even less worth recommending.

Si Lom Thai Bistro is My go-to whenever I'm craving Pad Si Eew! The flavor - out of this world! They're not stingy with the protein, eggs & veggies, truly a balanced meal if I do say so myself ‍ Also, can't forget about their iconic bucket cocktails, they come with gummies which satisfy my sweet tooth Can't forget about the quick service & Si Lom has the perfect ambiance for a quick catch-up or even a date night ‍

Drunken noodle was excellent. I asked for extra spicy. My husband had pad Thai which was excellent as well. Will definitely return! And the service was prompt.

Reasonable prices, great service. They always refilled my water! We got the pad Thai and Khao soi, both were flavourful and were made to order within 15 minutes of ordering. There is a small patio outside if you like to dine outdoors.

Finally I got to try this place, not often that I come to downtown, lunch time had some people, I decided to get the soft shell crab pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, the portion size is massive but it's pricey as well so it compensates, the decor was nice very authentic like I'm in Thailand. The service was really good I even got a free black ice tea, special homemade, the only thing here is they don't do any substitutions so if you can't eat anything and you likes. Dish I'm sorry they will not do anything about that which is unfortunate I can understand why more work. The pad Thai noodle was soy good texture, soft shell crab was tender wish it had a bit more heat to it, was a little too sweet, next time I'll probably go the safe route and order what I usually order in Thai restaurants paad kee mao, It's good to see Thai restaurants becoming more popular I like that this place is authentic and good flavours.

First time trying the glass noodles here and honestly, I liked them even more than the Pad Thai. The noodles had a great chewy texture and were packed with flavor. We also got the clams, and they were super tasty, the sauce was rich and savory with just the right amount of spice. The papaya salad was fresh and crunchy, with a nice balance of sweet, sour, and a little heat.

Had my last meal in Toronto at this Thai spot and it was pretty darn good. My buddies and I ordered pad thai, shrimp fried rice, pad se ew, and a coconut soup. Pad thai was actually decent and this is probably my least favorite popular dish at Thai restaurants. Shrimp fried rice was made just the way I like it. The pad se ew was good but I was a little disappointed that pork isn't a protein choice at this restaurant. I couldn't tell you my thoughts on the soup but it must be pretty unmemorable. Employees were super curtious and I loved the vibe decor wise. It felt like I was at fancy street vendor in Thailand. I would definitely go back.

Lovely mom and pop Thai restaurant with a convenient location. Expansive menu but I went with an entree offering geo of my favorite things - crispy pork belly and pad Thai. Highly recommend. Friendly and attentive service too!

There's a great amount of Thai places in Toronto and found Si Lom Thai is a popular Thai place that was trending that I wanted to give a try. Pad Thai: It was kinda disappointing. It really didn't have any outstanding flavour and seemed way too overpriced for what you pay for. The portions were alright but I think it wasn't really worth paying over $17 for. Thai Iced Tea: Nice and refreshing drink to go with the food. Usually I don't really get drinks as much in restaurants but I wanted to try at least one of the classic drinks to see if it's different from the usual drink shops but it was pretty average. The service was attentive and friendly. I think it was a bit overhyped as the place was very well-decorated & looked great from photos, however the food was not worth the price point especially when there's better Thai places to visit in Downtown Toronto.

I ordered one of their popular dishes for takeout. It took about 15min or so before I got my order, which wasn't too bad. I was waiting indoor. The restaurant was fully packed and felt warm inside. It was very busy and it seemed like they could use more hands to service the customers. Nonetheless, the waitresses were friendly and attentive. They took my order as soon as I was ready. I didn't like the pork unfortunately. It was chewy and I don't think there was much meat in it. Maybe some people prefers it this way, I didn't. I wouldn't order it again.

Solid 3.5 stars. First time back since pre-pandemic times. Dropped by on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty (3 other groups were seated). Friendly staff, quick service, and food was served in 15 minutes. Honestly, nothing wrong with the food but it's not spectacular, mouth watering delicious. It feels authentic but also really standard Thai food. If you're in the Church-Wellesley neighbourhood then definitely check it out but don't specifically travel to eat at the restaurant. Save that for Pai or Khao San Road!

We have been looking for restaurants that serve "Pu Pad Pong Karee" (Stir- Fried Crab with Curry Powder) in GTA. Although I have never had "Pu Pad Pong Karee" before, I was intrigued by this food as those who know it are raving about it. But I found that it is very hard to find Pu Pad Pong Karee in GTA - may be because of the high crab price at this time? Or maybe because of how the name of the dish sounds?? Or the different ways of spelling this food? Anyways, I found that Si Lom has it. Excitedly, we ordered Pu Pad Pong Karee and Massaman Curry (chicken) for take-out. The Pu Pad Pong Karee was disappointing - I expected fresh spice-coated crab is bound together with fluffy eggs. This is what I heard from those who rave it. But Si Lom's had just a small deep-fried soft shell crab and it was mushy. The spices and other ingredients were wrapped in overcooked scrambled eggs. Also, it was so salty that killed the crab's flavor. This dish is $28. Massaman curry (chicken)'s gravy was very loose and I did not feel the punch of spices that many other good Thai restaurants' have. Good thing was that the staff was very pleasant, efficient and friendly. Order is quickly prepared. The vibe of the neighborhood is absolutely enjoyable. Looks like they have many exotic cocktail options. If you are looking for authentic Thai food, this is not the place, but if you want to enjoy something different from ordinary pubs, and want to enjoy unique drinks dine-in, this place is worth a try.

Stopped in here for a late dinner. I am a big fan of Thai food and am always looking for a good place to indulge. This is a cozy little place with some reallly good food. I started off with the spring rolls and they were really good. I enjoyed the dipping sauce that it came with. For my main I had the Penang Curry with Chicken. The flavor of the curry was spot on and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Just the right portion that filled up my belly. Service was on par. I think that this is a family business and they were attentive to all of my needs. I really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely return when I am back in town.

Our server, Sophia, was bubbly and friendly, giving suggestions and helping with the ordering process for the other person who wasn't as sure what they wanted. We eventually went with two appetizers and two entrees, which was more than enough food, and honestly, we could have only ordered one appetizer. The better of the two appetizers was the CAD 8.95 Hand Shredded Pepper Chicken/手撕椒麻雞/Shou Si Ji. The dish consists of cold chicken in a flavorful sauce, topped with some greens. The chicken was tender, with a mild, pleasant spice and a bit of numbingness from the Sichuan peppercorns, along with some fragrance, presumably from sesame oil. It reminded me a bit of salivating chicken you find in some Szechuan spots, but it was more aromatic and a bit less spicy. The other appetizer was the Steamed Edamame/岩鹽毛豆 with Himalayan pink salt for CAD 5.95. The other person chose between this and the vegetable dumplings, as he avoids pork, and it was, of course, lighter than the other appetizer. The decent portion of edamame was topped with some pickled carrots as a garnish. My main dish was the Braised Beef Noodles/紅燒牛肉面/Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. The dish included several options, including size, noodle style, and spice level. I chose the large for CAD $20.95, medium spice, and for the noodle style, I chose flat/宽面, as it was closest to the prism style I like at Lanzhou spots in the States. Along with these, I also added a tea egg for an extra CAD 2.95. Outside the add-on, the dish also had a couple of large slices of radish. Compared to some spots in NYC, I slightly preferred the QQ/bouncy texture of the noodles at a spot near me. However, the broth was better here with a balanced amount of mala, though I would likely order spicy next time, as I tend to add chili oil to the relatively lighter Lanzhou broths. The beef was also much better, being tender with a mild chew regardless of whether it was tendon or other cuts. The tea egg was flavorful and worth the add-on, especially when the inside was dipped further into the broth. I can see why others order this. The other person went with the Signature Stir-fried Noodles/招牌炒面/Chao Tatiaozi. There was an option of protein, and he went with Chicken for $17.95 and added the same egg. I tried a bit, and there was a pleasant pepperiness with a bit of numbing flavor, but less than my dish. The noodles had a good bounciness and overall had a slightly better chewiness than mine. This was lighter overall, but also tasty. This spot has apparently come to the US already at the Mall of America, and I would love it if there were a location closer to me. Good place.

We decided to walk up to Queen Street to see something we hadn't seen and seemed like a good area with a wide variety of restaurants. I was almost writing this review for the one on Dundas Street, but realized there are a few locations in downtown. Glad I double checked. We walked up along Spadina to Queen, not all the way up to Dundas. We were weighing options, but we were unsure what we wanted and struggled. We almost ended up at another restaurant with live music outside, but we weren't being served and wasn't enthusiastic about their menu. So, we looked at a couple of options. We didn't want Chipotle or Chick Fil-A; I can get that anytime as I live near those in Maryland. Also, I wanted cuisine that was harder to find near where I live. Ultimately, we settled on Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles. After a lot of hunger trying to decide, this ended up being an excellent choice. Server was friendly answering our questions. It was moderately priced. We got their hand-pulled noodles, which was a large bowl, and was delicious with beef, veggies, & plenty of noodles. I also got their Japanese Toki brand whiskey. This was a FINE choice at a reasonable price. We got into some conversation with the server about being from the US and various other topics. This was an excellent experience, highly recommend.
