I'm so happy Siam Thai opened up on Staten Island. I made dinner reservations on Resy. I would recommend doing that, especially on a Friday night, as it seemed to get busy. If not, you can sit at the bar to eat if they are booked. On arrival, the welcome was warm and friendly. We were seated pretty quickly. We started off with a light and sweet Lychee Martini. For food, we shared for two people the following. Papaya salad - refreshing, crunchy, and slightly spicey Siam Platter - money bags (pork & shrimp dumplings) my personal favorite, chive cake, and chicken satay. All came with dipping sauce for each. Crying Tiger Steak - 16oz ribeye cooked to perfection, so soft and juicy. Pineapple fried rice - This rice dish is plated in a cut pineapple, light curry flavor, with nice big pieces of shrimp and pieces of pineapple. Dessert Platter- Sample of coconut pudding, mango sticky rice, coconut ice-cream We enjoyed every bite. I very excited to get legit Thai food in Staten Island with the amount of Chinese/Thai American cuisine on the island. Considering that this is a second location compared to their Flushing location, I was legitimately excited to get Queens style Thai food. However, I'm very disappointed in the hospitality and the food was lackluster. When I first found out about this place, it was packed for dinner and I decided to come during lunch time where I could get the food without the rush. And well, certainly, I didn't get the rush, I got extremely slow service and a lukewarm meal. We ordered the Siam sampler, the duck red curry, spicy filet mignon Basil, and two Thai chicken rice. The Siam sampler was not hot. It was lukewarm and I think they added an additional fried dough fritter. The flavors were there but again, it was lukewarm. When they bought out the duck curry, the server informed us that they didn't have the Thai chicken rice, and if regular Jasmine Rice was fine for a substitute. Which was fine, I did ask that we weren't going to be charged the same price as the Thai chicken rice, they said no, but at the end they still did. We also had to wait and ask if there was any word with the rice since the curry was getting cold and they had to double check and bought us 1 bowl with no spoon. Someone at the back had to double check if we gotten all of orders, which we didn't. We were still missing the filet mignon basil. After maybe 20 minutes, they bought it out and it was actually hot and apologized. That was very good and flavorful with a good spice... but they forgot a serving spoon, lol. As we waited for the last order, The server went around talking to other patrons and refilled their waters. I had an empty glass, I couldn't make it anymore obvious by putting my glass at the edge of the table. After we were done, that also took a long time to get the check. They didn't take off the Thai chicken rice and we had to tell them before reissuing a new check, and again, I don't know if it's by embarrassment, they didn't want to come by our table but I had to go to the front and pay. Let me remind you, this was not very busy establishment. Also, one of the bathroom lights wasn't working so you had to use another bathroom. Asking for service was tough, I had flag someone, but how can they help when they are on their cell phones texting? I'm very disappointed by the service of this restaurant and I hate giving it this rating but it needs to be said. Maybe they are still getting their footing at this location? It might be Staten Island, but that doesn't mean it's laid back like every other borough and they need to know prompt service should be expected just like everywhere else in NYC. read more

Worse service ever, management does not give a F about their workers Ordered our food started with the appetizer, my appetizer took so long by the time i got it , my main dish was already there, when i finally finish my appetizer my steak was cold, they got my wife order wrong she order the beef she got the shrimp instead. told them that it was the wrong order and return it. after we ordered did not see the server at all, who took our order,. only saw two server who were working while two girls in the front just did not care, that they were really busy did not even think of helping out , and when we got our bill they charged us for the shrimp and the beef. read more

The food is excellent, decor beautiful but service lacks big time! We've been there three times. First time was excellent - both food and service. Next two times.. not so good. Staff needs better training . Drinks are not filled quickly enough, management no where to be seen and staff never asks how everything is . We've had plates taken away with food in it ... and they don't explain the different sauces and items when serving . One thing that our friends and family found annoying each time , was the size of the plate you're eating off of . It's tiny! You order a few entrees to share and need to take a forkful at at time . The chicken in the Khao Soi fell off the bone; perfectly cooked. We came in at exactly noon for the $25 lunch special. We were seated and given some time to look at the menu. I asked the wait staff what gluten free options they had since it wasn't marked on the menu. There are quite a few entrees that are gluten free but the only one I remember right now is the ribeye and pad Thai. From the lunch special I ordered the papaya salad. If you are gluten free I recommend bringing your own dressing as the dressing isn't gluten free so I just ate raw veggies with some peanuts and chili. Very dry lol but I was warned about it from the staff before hand. For my meal I got the chicken pad Thai. The special comes with a soda or Thai iced tea so I got the Thai iced tea along with the punch (alcohol menu). The presentation of the drinks were cute. I enjoyed both drinks. I was with my sister who also ordered the lunch special but got different food than me because she vegan. Her app was the chive cakes. So time goes by about 20 minutes and her app still didn't come out. Both of our entrees come out and they say that her chive cakes will be coming out shortly. Both of our entrees are big. We didn't even finish half of our food. No complaints about food drinks or service. Only dislikes is the restaurant is cold and my sister's app came out very late. We were checked on constantly throughout our time at the restaurant. I would go again to try something else. read more

Upon walking in the place you'll notice it is very beautifully decorated and we don't really have much variety on Staten Island in terms of food so it was so nice to see a place from flushing open an establishment here. We ordered the fried calamari, Siam platter to start and it was all very good. The calamari was crispy and fresh. The items on the platter with the different sauces were all delicious. For entrees we ordered the pad see ew which came with beef. This was great. The tiger steak which was a ribeye, it came undercooked so we sent it back. They quickly fixed it. I thought the steak didn't have much flavor and way too fatty. Would not order the steak again. And we also ordered the crispy shrimp which I think should come with a creamy dipping sauce to complete the dish. As far as the timing I think since the place has only been open for 2 weeks they are still working on getting things situated. But all the food came out at different times. We came early too so hopefully with time that will fix itself. Overall would come back to try the other dishes. Agree with the other reviews that the prices are a bit steep especially for Staten Island. read more

I've been eating Thai for 40 years in NY and don't seem to find the original authentic dishes like years ago... most places mix Malaysian and Chinese in their menus! By far the best Thai on Staten Island, closest I can find to an NYC type Thai place, (unfortunately that goes for the prices too). I've enjoyed everything I've tried so far. My favorite is the Khao Soi. Delicious. Pad kee mao is also very good. It's very spicy, but I'd rather it be spicy than not. I've only ordered delivery from here, every time it's hot (even though it's a distance from my house) and very thoughtfully packaged. Love this place, so it's worth the higher prices. Another super important reason is that they have a bar. Their cocktails are good and I love their beer, very refreshing. My wife and I had walked past this restaurant on several occasions, the outside is very inviting. We decided to go with a friend today to give it a try. The inside is amazing, very welcoming, and a warm feeling you get once you walk in. The staff immediately welcomed us in, and we were seated very quickly. The waiter came over and introduced himself, and asked us if we wanted to order drinks. We did and got them very quickly. We started with the Siam platter, highly recommend it, sauces were outstanding. We then jumped into PAD KEE MAO, with chicken, a spicy dish, but well with it. I was very disappointed with my first order from Siam Thai. A friend picked me up an order of Chicken Pad Thai. This is a dish I have always enjoyed. This oder was different. What I got was a box containing at least 1.5 pounds of noodles, with a few pieces of chicken. There was nothing interesting about it, taste wise. I only had a small amount of it and had to throw the rest out. I thought the whole thing was expensive for $23. I don't think I'll order from this restaurant again. read more
