Got steamed chicken with chili sauce (top left), mao's pork belly (bottom left) and stew fatty beef w chili soup (top right). Really loved the chicken and beef dishes, especially the soup, with enough spicy for the kick and so warm and satisfying! The chicken was tender, with enough seasoning and no bones. The pork belly was not exactly what I was expecting for a typical Chinese braised pork belly but also not bad. Good food really heals the soul. Had never eaten here before but thought we'd try something new; used Grubhub for delivery. Pros: The food we ordered was delicious! Their eggplant Szechwan is amazing and the hot & sour soup was possibly the best I've ever had. Normally that kind of soup is mainly just spicy, but this was full of all kinds of flavor too. The garlic sauce is light, not the "American Chinese" brown sauce kind, so be prepared if you're expecting that; it's very different, though good! The food had a much more authentic Chinese flavor in my opinion. Cons: They got our order wrong so we had to refund/reorder, but they fixed the second batch very quickly. The crab rangoon was ok; it's not as good as some. Probably won't order it again only because everything else was so good by comparison. They also sent no soy sauce, but that might be because I didn't request the driver to get any. It's such good food that we would definitely order from there again; I know mistakes happen. This is a pretty decent Chinese restaurant with a very large selection of genuine Chinese food and more American styled Chinese food items. I adores their shrimp mai fun - it is not greasy in my opinion. My bf usually gets the general tsao's which is good and can be too spicy if you're not careful. They can over do it on the chili oil is the only major complaint in things like the wonton soup or Dan Dan noodles. The other thing is the crab Rangoon is overcooked. The shell is always super hard. These are the biggest issues. If they could address these items they'd pretty much be perfect. read more

Went for my mother's birthday. Dad is sichuanese and ordered for us. Food was tasty but according to my parents, not the authentic taste they are used to. The dishes were pleasantly mouthnumbing and well seasoned but the heat factor wasn't there. They brought us our entrees before the appetizers, and brought our rice last - which was weird. They also forgot one of our dishes but still charged us for it. We ended up taking it home. TL;DR: tasty food, not necessarily authentic Sichuan flavors but definitely pleasing to the Chinese palate. My friend and I went there when when first arrived in Lafayette. The crusines are very authentic. I felt like they were the dishes I would get in China. We had a big meal including Ma'po Tofu, Boiled Pork Belly and etc. We are all very full and consent. Since it was Easter break, there were only one waitor there. Clean, great food, fast, friendly, and good for social gathering. Mapo tofu is really good as well. My recommendation is walnut shrimp. We've ordered here twice, but we're never going back. The first time we ordered takeout, it was pricey but delicious. So tonight we decided to try again... and it was a disaster. Our food was over an hour and a half late. My husband asked again and again when the food would be ready, and the staff at the front door kept stalling. This went on for over 45 minutes. When my husband asked to cancel the order and get refunded, even more excuses - "but your order is almost ready" "I don't know how to refund" "the order is ready now." This went on for another 15 minutes until they brought out order out. The staff even said "why are blaming me, this is not my fault." No accountability for their service. When we got home, the food tasted terrible. We didn't eat half of it cause it tasted really sweet. They said they only had one cook that night and the cooking was clearly rushed. But they could have made this right. We won't return especially after the experience of getting the run around by the staff. read more

Waiter was either manager or owner: refused to give me a glass of ice for my canned sprite as it was already cold and I didn't need it he said. He even questioned me why I wanted a glass and put sprite in my hand and made me feel it's coldness. Very out of place in a sit down environment- and I didn't appreciate being touched. He told me their ice wasn't very good and tasted bad so I didn't want it. But then he proceeded to serve my daughter a tea with ice in it. Food was fair-beef in the beef with broccoli dish was rubbery. As a former waitress, his service was terrible and I will never return to that restaurant because he wanted me to do things his way instead of what I wanted. Additionally I don't expect to pay almost $20 a plate for a meal and not get a glass and straw along with a drink. A can of pop is not appropriate at this type of restaurant. Raw sewage backing up in the bathroom. At first glance I was impressed by the size, and general decor and said as much to the hostess who was very friendly. The waiter who came to take our order gave the immediate impression of being confused and explained he had only worked there three days. I have infinite patience for new people, I mean after all, we are all new at some point right. I ordered a few items and he said "oh wow we have that?" "You should not order more, it's not good to eat so much." When I ordered crab Rangoon he said "oh the American special" "sorry this is a new menu. It's only been around 3 days." Well at this point it became obvious he was joking around at my expense as it was obvious watching him interact with staff that he was in charge and the other staff were his family. The menu was clearly posted in the entry etc I just didn't catch on very quick. He included things in our order we specifically cancelled on his recommendation. He acted like he didn't know how to split the bill and then verbally berated the hostess. The food was better than average. Won ton soup and chicken lo Mein were great. The serving dishes and portions were average. Pineapple fried rice was a hit. They told us they didn't have ice when every table around us had ice. This could be a great place if the waiter didn't act like it was Dick's Last Resort and the bathroom didn't make me regret being there. This place is wonderful. We went on a super snowy night and the manager was serving all the tables. He told us all his servers were out that evening. He hustled and it didnt look like any tables service suffered. He was VERY friendly and had great recommendations based on what my partner and I like. We ordered spicy dumplings and pot stickers for an appetizer. The spicy dumplings were great and in a very nice sauce. For a main dish, we got some kind of spicy peppered beef. This was phenomenal. It was a low level, dry heat. None of the "spicy" items were very challenging, in my opinion. Not to be understated, but the rice was incredible. It was perfectly steamed and sticky. Out food was so good, we got an order of Pork in Garlic sauce to take home. Overall, the service was warm and helpful, proportions were generous and food was delicious. Be careful with this restaurant. The price in the menu is not the price they will charge you in the bill. They put a sign at the entrance with tiny font regarding the price increase but didn't mention it at all when we placed the order. Excellent authentic Chinese food. How this restaurant ended up in Indiana I'll never know but go in so we can keep it! If you're not sure what to get try the Chinese Style Kung Pao, it's a safe bet and shows you what legit Chinese food tastes like. Best Chinese food we've ever had. The pork dumplings were spectacular, we had the coriander lamb and shredded pork in garlic sauce. Both were outstanding.
