I ordered based on my neighbors recommendation as I was looking for pizza and a salad. My first impression was not great, as the person who answered the phone seemed irritated and unprofessional. I almost didn't order but since i had a guest in town who initiated the idea, I continued. It was an hour before the pizza came, but as "mr irritable" indicated it would be, it was expected. The pizza was nice and hot and I was glad about that. The greek salad was good, nothing special but it had green olives, which is my favorite. The salad dressing was tasty so I give it 4 stars. I have been going to this place since I was a kid. When my nieces and cousins visit this is the "New York" pizza they want. My dad ordered a pizza from this place and flew with it back to Florida for the receptionist at his doctors office. I am so thankful that they got with the times and are on Uber and slice. Prior to that they would NEVER deliver to my neighborhood because I lived in Rosedale at the time, literally 5 mins from the shop. Now I'm even further in Queens and I get my pizza. :) When I was a kid, 15+ years, there was a guy there that looked like Russell Crowe, he was the sweetest. But since then....things er um changed. I can see where people would be put off by customer service. Save yourself having to deal with the people there and order online. Sicilia has gone from pizza worth raving about, to tasteless and unsatisfying. I stopped by today for the first time since I graduated high school (2006). It used to be one of my favorite pizza places in town, and I always went for the chicken and tomato slice. I ordered that same slice today and walked out really disappointed. First, my slice was removed from the oven way too soon, and it was cold. The crust tasted undercooked and doughy. The chicken was also semi undercooked, and the tomatoes were soggy and mushy. Since this is the only pizza place open in the area (not a fan of Rosa's or Ancona's), I decided to stop by for my pizza fix. The first thing I noticed when walking in was the amount of specials they have, and the prices are pretty good for what you get. They have a few family deals, $10 pie deals, and buy 1 get 1 half off pie deals. They had a few different selections displayed. Grandma slices, sicilian slices, etc. I opted for 2 regular (I know I'm boring). I was pleasantly surprised. I don't like crispy crusts, and theirs was more chewy which I like. The slice was a little sweet but still very good. I plan on coming back here for sure to take advantage of some of their deals. read more

The egg plant parm was by far the best that I have ever eaten. This is my favorite dish. The salad was so fresh and dressing was SUPER great. I live in Atlanta, GA. If I had to cash to fly back to NY, my butt would be on the plane to this restaurant. I called back to tell the owner how wonderful the food was there. He treated me with respect and did not rush me even though he has the phone ringging off of the hook and people waiting to pay. The experience that I had was everlasting. This place is great. Really nice counter people, very clean place to eat, even a clean bathroom which is nice. I usually get the Grandma slice, delicious crust, perfectly seasoned, sweet sauce and good amount of mozzarella. I have had the mini broccoli rolls which are good but lack cheese. Regular slices are good too, they have some great deals during the week and 1/2 price pizza late night. One of my favorites is the chicken parm hero...huge portion for $6.50! I have never been disappointed when I walked in for a slice, but take out or delivery has been an whole different experience. I don't mind (too much) that the employee that is usually there seems incredibly apathetic about his job, my order, or life in general, but in return, I expect great pizza. I had my parents over 2 weeks ago for pizza, and I was embarrassed with the food I had to serve them. I ordered a large pie, garlic knots and calamari. The pizza was under-cooked and flavorless. The garlic knots were not memorable, so I won't comment one way or another. The calamari though...where to begin. Seeing how I was ordering calamari from a pizza shop, my expectations were not overly high to begin with. However, what was served to me was far worse than even the lowest expectations. This calamari tasted like it was cooked a year ago and frozen, then microwaved for 30 minutes before being packaged up to be sold. We each tried one bite before throwing the entire order in the garbage. I really hope this place steps their game up because they were good at one point. read more
