Oh Sicilian Oven... I've been to four of their locations, all excellent, but the Lighthouse Point location was the first. Feel free to order anything on the menu - its all good! I personally love their amazing pizza, delicious wood fired wings, scrumptious Sicilian salad, and most of all - their rice balls! My family has been making rice balls my entire life. They usually only get made on special occasions because they are pretty labor intensive. Like anyone judging a dish from a restaurant that their family makes at home, you either don't bother ordering the dish to begin with OR go in with low expectations. I am delighted to say Sicilian Oven has the best rice balls I've had outside of a family member's kitchen! Sicilian Oven also deserves a high-five on the meat sauce that is served with the rice balls... excellent! Every single menu item I have ordered is delicious. I love their pizzas, with a few favorites being: The Maria, The Joey D, Fresh Tomato and Basil, and the Queen of Sicily. The Sicilian Salad is a must every time I go, WITH Gorgonzola cheese of course. The wings... omg the wings are the best!! Nice neighborhood restaurant. Good service, comfortable dining area with large TV's in several locations, good food and reasonable prices. Their specialty is Sicilian dishes and pizzas. We tried their large house salad which was enough for 3-4 people. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and the dressing was the perfect match for that salad. You can order Gorgonzola cheese on the side. We also tried their eggplant parmigiana, and it was excellent. Best value in Miami, or rather, south Florida. We decided to avoid the 25 minute wait and squeeze into the bar. The prices for high quality, large portions were jaw dropping! How do they stay in business? The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and spot-on. I ate the anti-pasto salad, which filled me, and moved on to the traditional spaghetti and meatballs. This was our best dining experience in a very long time. The only note was that my dining partner ordered a pizza smothered in olives and sausage and that combo was slightly salty. We're we're just looking for a good pizza near us when we stumbled upon this gem. We had a Hit Man combined with The Boss, sausage, onions and whole roasted hot peppers. One of the best gourmet pizzas I've ever tasted. Added a Sicilian salad with Gorgonzola and voila, an excellent Italian dinner. I'm updating my review because I thought I had removed it, but since It posted and wasn't removed, I will say that I ended up returning that night to return the dish and just get my money back. The hostesses would not, but they retrieved the manager who heard my issues and offered to replace the dish with what I had expected in the first place. I agreed, which was all I had really wanted in the first place, and he expeditiously had a new dish to me which absolutely met my expectation. I've modified my stars to reflect that although I suggest perhaps a better explanation of the dish on the menu and some more training for the hostesses who might handle complaints and how to appropriately deal with them. Sicilian oven has got to be one of my favorite dinner spots. They never disappoint when it comes to food and they have great deals for lunch and happy hour. I enjoy stopping in after work for happy hour for 2 for 1 beers. They also have deals on wine and other drinks as well. My absolute favorite menu item is the wings they are cooked in the brick oven and have the perfect crisp. They are also served with caramelized onions which add a sweet and savory flavor. Overpriced pizza. Was not flavorful and so small! I ordered a small traditional pizza and it looks like a 10' personal size pizza for $16. No thank you. Also I wanted green bell peppers as a topping and i got red instead so not sure why the person on the phone told me they have green. Would not recommend this place. We went for my friends Birthday it was very very good!! Excellent service and the menu had a variety of did pizzas and you can build your own if you like. I order the pizza that had tomato, mozz, eggplant which was breaded pieces, and a balsamic glaze. It was to die 4! Don't shy away from this strip center Sicilia great! Hostess gave us a warm greeting when we walked in advising there would be a wait (they were packed). We asked if we could order food at the bar and were told certainly. As soon as we climbed up on our stools, our waitress/bartender greeted us and asked for drink orders as we looked over the menu. She told me she just opened a bottle of the House Chianti and it was veer good. I ordered a glass and agree it was very good. The kitchen is very large and the interior is warm and friendly as we sat at the bar and watched the bar fill up and diners waiting for seats ordered their wine to pass the time. A very inviting menu, lots of personal and family specialty pizzas. I ordered a Caesar and Housemade Rigatoni Bolognese. My wife ordered the last grilled artichoke and a single (it was meal sized) meatball. I shared my Caesar Salad, it was so large and my wife got into her artichoke. Both of our choices were very tasty. My Bolognese arrived accompanied by my wife's single meatball in gravy. I could only finish half of my p pasta dish and will enjoy the other half for lunch tomorrow. I just went here for the first time to celebrate my grandson's graduation from VPK and I liked it. That's saying a lot from from an Italian person, I'm usually pretty picky on Italian food. They have a great lunch special, the service was spectacular and food was very good. My daughter-in-law looked at me like I had two heads that I've never been to a Sicilian Oven but I was never to a Sicilian Oven until today. We go for the mussels. They have really good lunch special that comes with a complimentary house salad. Prices are fair compared to other Italian spots. It was someone's birthday in the office and they picked Sicilian Oven for their office lunch. I hadn't been yet but I know it's owned by Ralph DiSalvo formerly of DiSalvo's Plantation. I worked for the family ages ago and was sad when he closed his location(s) down to pursue other endeavors but I digress. The restaurant was clean but like an icebox and I am NEVER cold. I think they keep it cool because of the oven but they went to the extreme. Our server was great and managed to get everyone's extremely picky drink order- water with lemon, without lemon, no ice etc. We're a bunch of PITAs! We put in our food orders and shortly thereafter family style salads were delivered to the table. They were good but not great. My boss got the meatball salad, a few of my colleagues got pizzas, I went to my go-to eggplant parmesean. Granted, I had just made my own the night before but for comparison sake to mine, DiSalvos (which is really good) and their competitor that shall remain nameless I wanted to see if it could hang with my favorites. Everyone got their orders. Mine was one of the last delivered to the table and I was disappointed to find it only luke warm, not hot. It wasn't as good as any of the aforementioned- I think it lacked salt but it was paper thin like I like it to be. I definitely wouldn't order it again but the pizzas looked divine so I'm definitely willing to go back and give it another shot. read more
