Shay was awesome. Took her a while to warm up but was great. Got involved with us and was smiling. The blonde was yawning the whole time.

I'm struggling a bit here. First off, some have mentioned its a dive bar. IMO it is not. Just a darkly lit sports bar. However, the two things that make me push it towards a three star are that it was closed on a Sunday and their boneless buffalo things are far more coating than chicken than they should be and on one occasion the list of beers not on tap seemed longer than what was on tap. Oddly the latter was the same problem we found at Hooters later. Oh yeah, some frat boys piled in one of the nights we were there and the yelling and annoying and oh please thank god they left after a beer. So why does it crack it for a four then, you ask? The beer selection, when available, is good. The staff are very good. The TVs are plentiful and real buffalo wings are better than average. It is quite a large place all things considered as well. I was probably in there for five nights while visiting town (maybe even six) for the week I was there and only missed the Sunday because it was closed. I'd definitely go back but short change me on the beer selection, surround me with frat boys again - well, I might go elsewhere. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband & I came for UFC fight. Strike 1, AC is broke & would not turn on fans in the back. Strike 2, waitress "ignored" us for 30 minutes. When I asked for menu, she never came back & continued to serve those around us. Strike 3, manager was unsupportive when I complained but sent another waitress to take our order. Strike 4, it has been over a hour & we still have not received our 10 wings & fries. This bar is not ready to host a UFC event especially when the venue is not packed! Awful, the worst service ever! Can't tell you how the food is because our order never came. They need to start over with new management and staff. read more

**i had previously canceled this review after getting a email from owner saying he would look into the issue & get back with me, well almost a week later NO reply so it goes back up. i wish i could give less than one star but thats not a option : ( came for my friend birthday to get food after leaving escape game room and sat forever even though there weren't very many customers, both servers who switched off helping us were curt and not personable. we informed our server that it was our friends birthday and they could have cared less. She isn't a drinker so we asked for a mocktail and was told they don't make those, ? what? you can't put some cherries and some syrup to make a coke nicer? they wouldn't even make a shirly temple, . claimed they were out of cherries but i think it was the effort to get them that was lacking. they charged us almost $6 more on 2 of our bills for sides that were supposed to be included and refused to comp or help us with the bill, paid almost $13 for crappy quesadilla with bland rice and beans and there was ONLY 2 options for vegetarians! cheese quesadilla or grilled cheese....um thanks .... not even a veggie burger .... HORRIBLE service and mediocre food AT BEST. avoid this place unless you want a cheap hole in the wall to get wasted in.......... read more

I can't speak for the food because the service was so bad we left before we had any. I don't know if the staff thought we were invisible, contagious, or if the restaurant was closed and they just left the front door unlocked. The wait staff was not present and the bartender just stared at us. After about ten minutes, when we got up to leave, the watroid finally appeared and asked where we were going. We had to reply with a gentle "mind your own business, because that's obviously what you've been doing," and then we left. We won't be back for a second try. read more

I don't know why this place isn't more poplar (get it?). A quality legit dive bar with staff that are fun af. Don't believe BS reviews from Uber eats people dumb enough to order delivery fries driven by some stoner that got fired by Lyft. The food is solid, the bartenders are cool and the drinks have alcohol. read more

Terrible. Food seems like it's microwaved. Bartenders are rude and barely acknowledge you. Management is even worse. Probably one of the worst experiences I've had. Avoid at all costs. Slice next door has better food and service. read more

Shay was awesome. The entire vib in this place was a good time. I was visiting ATL all the way from Cali. Sidebar was recommended to us from the hotel valet. It was near by the hotel. We went in Sunday after the falcon game. Good music. Good service. Good prices. We had wings, which were amazing by the way!! When I go back to ATL, I will go back to this place. read more

I walked in after placing a call in order for my boss for his lunch comma receive no greeting from three staff members. Sat at the bar, waited about 10 minutes to get acknowledgement of myself as a guest, spoke up and finally spoke to one of the bartenders who had no idea of my call in order. That employee walked away, another employee returned with 2 to go boxes in hand. She then looked at me, stared said nothing. She then turned around, and directly asked me "what do you need?" The food was beyond mediocre, Unseasoned pork on a bland so-called famous Cuban sandwich. My side dishes were under temperature. After asking if it was a popular and well-known restaurant they ranted and raved about great ratings they did and how wonderful the experience is for guests. I recently moved to the city of Atlanta, I've been to over four-five different restaurants, this by far is the worst service and some of the worst Food I've had. Fix it. read more

I thought I reviewed this place a while ago. Perhaps my review got deleted? I don't know why it would have. I have visited Sidebar many times - only to see pay-per-view UFC fights. They provide this free of charge. Thanks! A number of bars charge for viewing. Food is hit or miss, mostly miss (burger, fries, tots, chicken tenders). But I really like the Quickie wings. Oh, man. So good! We would sit in the front bar area as my ex is a smoker and they allowed smoking there. I think this has changed? From what I recall, they moved to be a non-smoking establishment. Fine by me! :-) I really liked that we were recognized as regulars even though we would only come one a month or so. Our waiter always knew what we wanted to drink - we didn't even have to ask. And they had great options for me, a mostly non-drinker. Blueberry lemonade and Kopperberg. Yum! Can't find those options in every bar. A great downtown bar. read more

My review is based on two seperate occasions visiting Sidebar, though those days were back to back. Now, had I only gone the one time, my review would be 5 stars. The bartenders were amazing, the drinks were great, the crowd was crazy and amusing and the jukebox was flowing. I had a great time. So great in fact, that my friends and I went back the next day. What a difference! It was like being in a whole other bar. The bartenders were unattentive, the drinks were drinks but it took 15 minutes for me to be able to order one - it wasn't crowded in there and I was sitting AT the bar, at one point waving my arms trying to get someone's attention. The internet jukebox decided it didn't want to connect to the internet so the music was lackluster, and the crowd was completely different than the night before. I love a bar that brings in diverse groups of people, but the whole mood was different. We hated it! So much so, we didn't stay long, and we spent the rest of night thinking about the glorious time we had at Sidebar just the night before. Strange for sure. So, it's not a terrible place, but it's not as amazing as it was the first time we went. Now, I don't know if one of those nights was an off night, but I hope to god the second night was. I will go again next time I'm in ATL, just to see, and I will update my review then. Will it be the dream bar it was on day one or the nightmare from day two? read more

They got the name for this place right - Sidebar. The entrance is literally down the side of the alley. The evening we decided to frequent it there was a homeless guy blocking the alley, generally making it pretty scary. If my friends hadn't been there before, I would've just kept on walking. Once inside, this is your basic smoky dive bar with sticky floors, attitudinal staff and not a whole lot else going for it. The pool area downstairs was kinda cool, exposed brick and I think I saw an air hockey table, but given the whole scenario it wasn't cool enough to rescue the place. read more

I go here often for lunch, so much so that they know my order. I love the tots, grilled cheese is awesome and the waitresses are friendly. They do allow smoking, but rarely do customers smoke during lunch. If I get my choice this is where I like to go on a weekday lunch break. read more

This place is pretty cool except no one is here. Beer prices reasonable and giant TVs everywhere. Free shuffleboard and $1 ski ball aka beer ball. If you get 300+ points, you get a free draft beer. read more

All I have to say is 5.25 for shock top. 5.25 let that sink in...... and they charge 5.25 for sweet water. yuengling is only 4.00. oh and don't offer 24 oz if that is in a plastic cup. We just happened to come across this little gem. We sat outside and tried their famous Cuban sandwich. Delish!! The server that helped us, "Deeanna" was a double bonus as she gave the best service with a smile I have ever seen. I would most definitely go back if I get to Atlanta again. Food is not very good and they make the drink a little weak for my taste. The beer on tap is fresh though and the atmosphere is worth it.
