Yes, almost everyone misses the mark on Bagels in AZ but after revisiting the best of the best, I'd put Bagel Man sesame right up there with the leaders out of state. From a "just the bagel" perspective, they are every bit as good as the best East Coast establishments - at least early in the morning. Our dry air might have more of an impact later in the morning. I just want them in a bag. The order process goes like this: go to counter, i would like these 4 kinds. each of my 4 bagels needs to be entered as a custom order - naked bagel not toasted. Then instead of that person placing 4 bagels in a bag and handing it to me, it goes to the back and waits in a long queue of other orders. Then 10 min later someone comes out of the back, and takes my 4 bagels from the front. They they walk back to put them in a bag. Then they place the bag in the window and ring the bell, so the person taking orders can hand them to me once they stop taking other orders. Why so complicated??
