If meats are simmered and braised for hours, it should be fork tender. Having strips of meat fight the texture of the noodles made it....cumbersome...to eat. Always wanted to use that word in a review. For the price, $30 essentially for bougie spaghetti, I expect near perfection. I'm a spaghetti snob...I know my stuff. If someone wanted to come here, I wouldn't mind it...but I'd try something else and maybe order spaghetti somewhere else

Merlot, one of the best local reds. The food was on point, my Dad had the shrimp scampi, he said it was excellent. I had the pork chop, so good. The chop was pounded thin and had a crispy texture to it (yum). It was covered in demi-glace and mushrooms, just delicious. Overall, great experience. Highly recommend.

So capacity is very limited. 3) We ordered lemonade for kids. They serve it in short glasses filled with ice to the brim (despite our ask for "no ice"), effectively reducing the liquid volume. We paid $35 for lemonade. 4) Food is very uneventful, nothing was remarkable. Their gnocchi with meat resembled Chef Boyardee from back in college times. Not sure why this place felt so pretentious with really no substance to back it. With so many options around like Montecatini, Doppio Zero, Benvenuti, La Fontaine, etc, not sure how they are still in business. Definitely not recommended for families, and have a hard time figuring out what audience they cater to.

This restaurant's version was heavily flavored with smoky bacon, which, in my opinion really drowned out the lightness of a creamy vodka sauce. It was also pretty salty - I couldn't really eat it. We originally came in and the older gentleman said they couldn't seat us right away and to come back in 20 minutes. We didn't mind and took a walk around the block and was seated right away when we returned and he brought us menus. A waiter came and was friendly, making sure he got the order correct. It seemed like he may have been in training. We decided to each get a lemonade, share the meatball appetizer, I ordered the pasta trio and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan. The meal started out nice with the drinks immediately coming out and the appetizer shortly after. The drinks were good, however they were out of pint glasses and came in a collins glass instead. The waiter mentioned the lack of pints and the smaller glass calling it fancy but didn't reference if we'd get a discount or a refill due to the smaller portion as a result of the glass switch. The meatballs were tender and had a good flavor. The sauce was nice and the bread was serviceable. After we finished our appetizer, there was a lack in service for at least 15 minutes. They did not clear the dirty dishes, offer water, or provide any type of check in. While we waited, my spouse had noticed a pasta entree (and a salad) was put up and was placed on top of a pizza box. He didnt think much of it until we started to realize we had been waiting longer than felt appropriate and noticed it was 3 different colors, like you'd expect for a pasta trio like I had ordered. Eventually the pasta was removed and we gave the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't my food that had been sitting out for at at least 10 minutes and they were just slow. A few minutes later, a waitress brought our entrees and they finally cleared the appetizer plates. I took my first bite and my food was cold. Not it cooled down but was still kinda warm, any food that was exposed to air was physically cold to the touch. My husband tried to flag the waitress down that delivered the food and her and another worker were talking and looking at their register with no awareness of the rest of the room. Given the service thus far, I just got up with the food and walked it over. I explained it was cold to the point where I said she could touch it (I proceeded to touch a noodle) and it's obviously too cold to be served. She apologized and said she talk the the cook/chef. My spouse watched as she went with my cold plate to the open kitchen and it was clear that she explained I said it was cold but they were not planning on remaking it and just reheating it. A trio of pastas with 3 different sauces would not be reheated in a pan so the assumption is there would be a microwave involved. My spouse got up and approached the cook and waitress that reheating the pasta was unacceptable because if we wanted reheated pasta, we could get something from a freezer section grocery store. At this point the waitress seemed shocked that we'd say anything about them choosing to just reheat the food. After a few more remarks they finally said that they'd remake my food. But that'd mean I had to wait while my spouse ate or my husband would wait and then their food was cold when we eat together. At this point, the service was so bad and they made it fell like we were inconveniencing them by wanting at least warm food, my spouse said we just wanted to settle up and leave. Again it took them a minute to process that we didn't want to stay there anymore and eventually said we could just leave. We left and have no plans on returning. I would consider trying a different location since it's a chain, but I will not be back to the Walnut Creek location. I give Tomatina a very generous 2 stars for the service at the very start of the night and the flavor of the meatballs.

The tostadas came with mahi-mahi, mango salsa, and avocado, and we both loved them. Unfortunately, I somehow lost the right to eat the third one to my wife! For our main courses, we ordered the Paella and Linguine Gamberi. The paella featured saffron rice, chorizo, shrimp, other seafood, and a few ingredients whose names I can't recall. The combination was excellent, and the Linguine Gamberi was equally delicious. After all that food, we somehow convinced ourselves we still had room for their Dessert for Two. It came with key lime pie and three other small desserts, all beautifully presented on a single plate. Finishing them proved more challenging than ordering them, but we managed to taste everything and even finish a couple! Throughout our meal, our server, whose name I unfortunately can't recall, was on top of her game. She was attentive, and our wine glasses were never empty for long. We never had to wait long before placing our next order. The rest of the staff were equally efficient, clearing our table promptly after each course. We enjoyed our comfortable indoor table, but I also noticed their lovely outdoor seating area, which looked like a wonderful place to relax on a nice day. With excellent food, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere, we had a thoroughly enjoyable first visit. Next time, I might save a little more room for dessert!

Ever since relocating to the Bay Area, I've had the pleasure of exploring numerous Persian and Mediterranean restaurants. Hailing from Southern California with Iranian roots, my expectations for Persian cuisine are naturally quite high. Remarkably, my experience at Silk Road restaurant left me with absolutely no room for complaints. In fact, I was thoroughly impressed by the culinary offerings. During my visit, I had the advantage of dining with friends who were well-versed in the menu, so I entrusted them with the task of ordering. Their selections were nothing short of exceptional, and every dish we tried earned a perfect 10 out of 10 on the deliciousness scale. This culinary feat left me with a deep sense of satisfaction and appreciation for Silk Road's culinary expertise. However, it's worth noting that Silk Road's prime location in the heart of Walnut Creek does come with parking considerations. Depending on the day and time, finding convenient street parking may pose a challenge. To accommodate a range of preferences, Silk Road provides both indoor and covered outdoor seating options, ensuring that diners can choose the setting that best suits their dining experience. One of the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Staff/ hostess: very rude Server: unprofessional, slow. He cleaned the chairs with his hands instead of using kitchen towel or napkin. He served the food but we didn't have silverware. After waiting for 10min his manager took care of situation. Menu: this place suppose to be middle eastern place. I learned pizza is middle eastern food!!! Too much unrelated food next to each other. Meanwhile we were deciding our main courses, we got our appetizer (combination platter). After what we saw and tasted, we changed our mind. No main course!!!! What we got, I think they were can food. Hummus: nothing special. I think I can find tastier but cheaper hummus in whole food/ Safeway Babaghanoosh: what they are serving is not Babaghanoosh. It is not even close the real recipe. Original recipe made of grilled eggplant, tahini, lemon, pomegranate (optional). What they serve is a Persian dish (kashke bademjoon), but Babaghanoosh is a Arabic dish. Fail. Went there for date night dinner and left after one glass of wine and appitizer. We were so incredibly disappointed in the service and the food. We really didn't want to risk having dinner just as bad. I feel like downtown Walnut Creek is tough to laff in and if you don't have good service, your food better be phenomenal. Not the case here. The kabob were raw and cold, the bread they served was not fresh, my white wine was warm when it arrived after the kabob even though we ordered it all at the same time, and I had to flag them down to ask for water and plates. The food was not to the poit to eat!! When we asked for our check, the lackluster waitress didn't seem to care that our experience was so bad that we changed our mind about eating there. I wanted to try this place because I love mediterranean food, but in the end was a bit disappointed with the amount of oil they used on their food. They do have very nice plate of bread and hummus which keep you happy while you're waiting, and I really think the quality of the food is excellent. However, the oil content was a bit overpowering. I did give them 4 stars however, as I seem to be kind of a nut when it comes to food being less "greasy" - it seems many of the restaurants in the area could do with a bit less oil and butter in their dishes. Nevertheless, if you don't mind a little oil - than it's a good choice for Mediterranean in downtown WC. They also have quite a good location and it's quite nice to sit outside. read more

The food here is incredible. There are a lot of great places in walnut creek, with outrageous prices and mediocre food, but this is not one of them. We came in and got a table outside. It was a covered space, and decorated adequately. The server was incredible and patient. They serve this delicious complimentary pita bread with an oil dip, and I wish i asked if they sold it to-go because it was incredible. i got a chicken marsala and it was tender but crisp and juicy and the potatoes were a wonderful addition. This spot is serving meal for kids. They are very hygiene and highly meet the covid standard condition according to CDC rules. Beside these facts, they serve delicious foods. I have ordered Koubideh Kabab and Chicken Kabab. They taste amazing and the quality even increased. The manager frequently checked us to make sure everything is on the table and we are ok. Overall amazing, if I could rate higher I would certainly do. This is THEE BEST MEDITERRANEAN restaurant! We sat outside under the warm heat lamps and were served warm flat bread with hummus, taboule and this wonderful sweet balsamic vinegar with onions and parsley dip! The service IS EXCELLENT! Our entree was this out of the world freshest halibut cooked to a sweet, tender, and flaky perfection topped with a tangy fresh lemon and caper butter sauce with the freshest asparagus and all of this laid on the best mashed potatoes! When you bring a first date to impress and the mean spirited old lady server disappears, then rushes you because she wants to go home early and does not listen, gets order wrong and tells you they are out of everything your date wants and is totally rude to boot. It ruins your night and you never want to return, even when you know businesses are hurting. After the great experiences I have had in the past, it's time for the Owner to know and rethink who he hires to represent his long time business, I saw too many unhappy faces leaving that night. read more

The service was very good and prompt for this place and I did like they had outside covered seating along a water feature off to the corner. The food was good but I thought the chicken was a little too overlooked. It was dry and not juicy. The beef was simply okay and not as good as some other places I have been. He heard our conversation and invited us to his restaurant and promised that apetizers were on him. The food was great! Especially I liked filet mignon. Been a long time customer. Appetizers are absolutely delicious and most of the food is pretty good. Place has a comfortable feel to it. owner is often there but can definitely beef up his interaction w/ customers. Prices are very reasonable. I rarely put a negative review but I am a little confused about the raving reviews for this place. The food is not tasty and is not fresh , even when we requested olive oil to deep our bad pitta bread we got vegetable oil. Maybe to much expectation ? When we left there was a foul smell. This place is so delicious! They are usually pretty busy, but Ive never had to wait too long. The outdoor seating is big and really nice. All there food is wonderful..and the appetizers (hummus, pita, babaganoush etc.) are amazing! big portions for a reasonable price. read more

My co-worker and I go a couple times for lunch. $5.00 cosmos , friendly service, and ALWAYS fresh fresh food. Sometimes it seems like it takes a little longer to get the dish but it's because it's always delicious and so fresh!! I've never had a bad lunch here. read more

Went on a rainy night. Seating area partially flooded. Only one other patron . Guess staff had anticipated a light turn out so the food was mediocre. I am sure the dolmas were out of a can and the chicken skewer was dried out. Naan and hummus were good. read more

We ordered one potato bolanis for appetizer with beers and five orders of kabob. There were no kabob leftovers! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The kitchen was kind enough to serve the food family style and there was plenty of spare naan and rice, but the delicious kabobs were all gone. Folks really liked the lamb, but my favorite is still the mildly spicy chapli kabobs! I took a bolani home. It is perfectly crispy after a few minutes in the toaster oven. It is a smallish restaurant but Yasmeen manages the front end well with a helper. Highly recommended!

They also have a grill which makes a wide array of foods. We got the kabob combo 1 which has chicken and tekka kabobs- yum! Also a bolani gandana which was also very good and crispy. Also got a box of koolooche. They were very friendly, quick and a great mom and pop business. All very good and I will be back!
