It was a beautiful evening and we sat on the front porch for dinner. I ordered a glass of wine. The wine was very good. I ordered my favorite, fish and chips with coleslaw. It didn't disappoint with the crispy battered fried cod and crispy hot fries. It was delicious. One of my friends ordered the egg plant, cheese, tomato sauce and noodles. She really liked her dish. Another friend ordered the pork chop with cheesy potatoes. He said it was tender and delicious. My other friends ordered the teriyaki salmon and they both loved it. Our server was trying to serve too many tables. So, getting dessert took a long time. It also took forever to get a correct check. I ordered the opera cake which was 3 different cakes combined into one. I thought it was really tasty. Luckily, we were enjoying the evening. But, a word of caution... there are not enough servers on the outside deck. I did take off a star for the wait time. But, the food was awesome and we will definitely go back.

1.18.26 I visited today for a work friend's father's celebration of life, and this venue couldn't have been more perfect. The buffet spread was delicious--from the crab and spinach dip to the meatballs, wraps, pasta salads, cookies, and brownies. I also ordered a hot chocolate, and it was incredibly tasty. The service was impeccable. Staff checked in often and cleared plates promptly. This is a wonderful place to celebrate any occasion--weddings, birthdays, reunions, or even just a nice meal.

Beautiful Manor House -- Now Restaurant & Event Space (Maybe where my son gets married) I attended another event and my son is getting married and searching for a place for his wedding reception. I suggest this place and compare to other options, this location had more reasonable prices. You can have the bride's dressing room, ceremony, wedding photos and wedding reception all in one location. You have to inquire with the business for their full prices. The staff were friendly and they make an expert Maryland State cocktail, the Orange Crush. It comes in other varieties and flavors. They have several outdoor bars, and the main restaurant and bar. This place is extremely charming and is going to be perfect for my son's wedding. But if you don't want something so formal, it might be perfect for a special occasion and/or a "treat yourself" brunch. Check it out, if you'd love good food and drinks, and a lovely setting.

The kitchen has upped its game in recent months. Earlier this year it was just so-so. In recent months the quality of the food and the presentation has improved a lot. I had a delightful seafood pasta dish tonight. It was a good value. Check out the photo.

We love Silo Falls and looked forward to spending a weekend afternoon on the patio on a beautiful day. Patio was closed and the explanation was that it would be open when the season started (one would think the outdoor season starts in May- June at the latest). The beautiful grounds were in disarray, tables and chairs upturned grass overgrown in spots, weeds outnumbered flowers in the beds which badly need fresh mulch. The entire scene was so sad. Our server was kind and attentive, tuna appetizer was incredible, the fried green tomatoes with the upcharge for "lump crabmeat" had no more than a tablespoon or two of obvious canned crab that was obviously not lump. Our server removed the $10 upcharge for the crab which was very considerate.

Solo Falls replaced the Brookeville Inn a few (or a lot of) years ago. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor dining space and large interior too. The menu has a decent variety of options, from salads and grain bowls, to steaks and cheeseburgers. My family diner here for Mother's Day, where they had an $80 pre-fixed menu and their regular brunch items. The pre-fixed menu was disappointing and limited for the price, so we ordered our own sides and entrees (ended up saving a few hundred $$). I recommend going here for a semi-formal event/celebration. The food isn't outstanding, but it's decent and the vibes are very nice.

Amazing food, location, cigar bar and indoor and outdoor event venue.. try the she crab soup, crab cake and short rib bites

Absolutely loved this place! The waiter was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The fried green tomatoes, wings, eggplant, fish and chips, and vanity cake were all 10000/10!

This restaurant had a lovely ambiance with an awesome patio! Service was rather slow, slow to be seated despite a reservation and open tables and slow to be approached for drinks. We started with the calamari and the bruschetta. Calamari was salty but the creamy aioli was really good. I also enjoyed the arugula salad served underneath the calamari. Bruschetta was great! I had the crab cake platter, as did my friend. Crab cake was almost all lump with a light buerre blanc sauce served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I got mine with a side salad instead of potatoes. Balsamic dressing was good. I would definitely come back.

Man oh man this place was adorable! The entire property is decorated with Christmas lights and is very inviting. The reaturant is in a old farm house that is absolutely beautiful. There were wood burning stoves and fires throughout the place making it so warm and cozy. There's a front room which is more intimate, a wrap around bar, and back room which great couches and tables with a band playing! There was truly a setting for everyone! Our waiter was great and very attentive. They have happy hour 7 days a week! The Crab and spinach dip was out of this world! Served with fried old bay pitas! The filet was huge and cooked perfectly! The linguine was customized a bit for me and had such rich flavors! There is such a big menu to try, a great outdoor area for the warmer months, and so many options at this place!

We just had an amazing Valentine's Day dinner at Silo Falls. Everyone on their team went above and beyond to make it a special evening. We had a window table in the first floor dining room; the room had a fireplace. We ordered a bottle of wine. My husband raved about his cream of crab soup, and the meatball appetizer was very tasty. I ordered the Pasta Silo Falls and my husband had the grilled salmon. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. Our server was named Brooke. She was so pleasant and she checked in with us after each course came out. A high volume night like Valentine's Day can strain the resources of a restaurant, but they handled it all seamlessly. We were really impressed!

Encountered this little food trailer/truck outside of Lone Oak Brewery in Olney and was pleasantly…read moresurprised by a pretty diverse menu with a few interesting things. I decided to get the fried artichokes for myself. I thought they were delicious... just one slight issue. I noticed that on a good deal of the artichoke hearts, the choke wasn't completely removed. Now... the choke (hairy little inside portion) is called the choke for a reason. That being said, there wasn't too too much of it and I just kinda cut most of it off with my spoon as it was fried and fairly easy to remove. The aioli that it was served with was quite good. I also got to try the brussel sprouts which were quite delicious, if not a bit heavy handedly sauced. It was definitely clear the brussel sprouts would have been very crispy if the sauce were added, tossed, and then strained. I also did get to try the poutine which ignited a debate with my friend about what type of cheese goes onto a traditional poutine, in which I clearly told him and can clearly tell you - he was wrong lol. Traditionally poutine is served with whole cheese curds. He was trying to argue that it was not and that they wouldn't melt from the heat of the fries and gravy. He is wrong. Argument handled lol. What I found interesting about the poutine that my friend got at Flipside was that the cheese curds were fried. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that! They're taking a different approach to a traditional poutine, but if it were me, I'd opt for unfried to create a bit more of a balance between the fries and the rest of the dish. That said, the fries and gravy were quite good! The chicken sandwich that my friend got looked amazing. I didn't get to taste it, as it's weird to ask for a bite of someone's sandwich, but it looks REAL tasty and he expressed it was. Overall, a few slight technical issues which I think Flipside could work out (really the brussel sprouts and the artichokes), but overall the flavors presented are on point. I don't include the cheese curd debate in the technical issues because that's a total preference and creative freedom issue. Hey, if you like fried on top of fried, those fries are for you - all puns intended. The only other thing I'd like to leave as constructive criticism is to say, I'd love to see 1 healthier option on the menu if possible. Everything seems to be fried, and I'd love to see a little something for those who'd like something a little lighter. Overall, great little food truck/trailer though.

To newcomers looking for good bbq: this is NOT the place to go. By brisket standards, the brisket is pretty dry and very very very flavorless. By regular meat standards the brisket tasted just okay but of course it was still pretty dry. To even begin enjoying the brisket I kept having to douse it in the different bbq sauces (which honestly I thought were pretty good and solid. I think those are house made sauces). The mashed potatoes came out a bit cold and were again lacking in flavor. The mac and cheese came out fine but for the third time: no flavor. If they ask if you'd like to have the muffin/corn bread just say no. It will save them time preparing it and it will save you the disappointment. The cornbread was dry snd hard on the outside, and then soft and dry on the inside. (The softness isn't a bad quality, I'm just describing it) The service was okay- kind waitress, short waits- but one thing that stood out to me was that we never got asked about refills. There was an unguarded soda fountain where they got all of our drinks from (which is fine) but I was unsure if I myself was allowed/expected to get my own drink or if they would come by again. Everything came out fully cooked and everything looked fairly appetizing- it just tasted bland. To the cooks: please season your food. Marinades, prep, and a vast variety of seasonings will take you a long way but it all starts with salt and pepper
