So happy to the Silver Diner open in Chantilly. Just had my first dining experience but it won't be my last. Everything was exceptional - service - food - cleanliness - friendliness. Even got to meet one of the founders - Ype Von Hengst. He was so proud of his newest buzzing restaurant and the commitment to personally be there is quite the statement. I remember the boom and bust of the Silver Diner when the went public and then struggled greatly to expand. Happy to see they survived and now appear to be thriving with a focus on brand and quality. Sarah was our server - brand new and just out of training - she was awesome - if you happen to go the diner and see Sarah tell her on YELP. I ordered chicken pot pie. Great flavor and lots of chicken - recommended. My wife ordered the tuna sandwich which said was also very good. Traditional diner vibe with both larger booths and tables for families. We saw everything from large groups to tables of one or two while we were there. No wait at 6:45pm on a Thursday evening for a family of 5. Our server was extremely attentive and polite. It was clear he was trying to connect, asking about what he saw us wearing or other noticeable things about us. The wait for food was a little bit but the quality of the food and the taste made up for it. Even my picky parents had nothing but good things to say about the food. The scallops were not overcooked and my dad found a rare specialty item on the menu that he says he has trouble finding anywhere nowadays - liver! We eat here semi regularly and I'm always surprised at how good the food is. I don't think of diners as being great food but SD is better than a typical diner. Tonight we had Nicole as our server and she was dynamite. Happy hour til 9 keeps the cost down. I really do like Silver Diner for dinner. read more

Very tempted to give it 5 stars. Best location thus far. The food is always exceptional and glad to have so many elevated options. Service was excellent. We observed all associates in dress code. Only issue we saw that is concerning is that one service used a glass to scoop ice. That's a big no no. Restrooms were clean. Parking and getting to the restaurant was a little tricky. After the recent visit, I felt a review was needed. This is not a typical "Diner" but a chain. The first visit was good, the one today not so much. The coffee was awful, the server offered new a new cup but do half coffee/ half water...what?? I was told what veggies I was getting, broccoli and brussel sprouts are not the same. We were not offered any refills on our beverages, I had water also. Overall, just not a good experience and to have the server automatically add a 22% gratuity to our check was most definitely not appreciated, especially after not getting the right vegtable and no additional drinks. Went on a friday around 6:30pm. It was super crowded, but was still seated within 10 minutes. Food: - The hawaiian burger was delicious if you like sweet & savory- i didnt realize it came with sweet potatoe fries instead of regular, but the server was accommodating and got me regular fries. - The meatloaf was good! Liked the mashed potatoes. The vegetables were bland. - Chicken pot pie was delicious! Large serving. - Would not order the fish & chips again. Drinks: - We got the chunky monkey milkshake! Delicious and a lot of milkshake. Worth $10. - hibiscus lemonade tastes just like pink lemonade. I would've rather gotten regular lemonade with free refills. Service: - our waiter was quite busy, and didn't check on us as often as we would've liked. We had to ask for refills and felt like we were looking around for him the entire duration of our meal. - we asked for a coke refill, and got diet coke. Wonderful throwback to another time - when business proprietors put the emphasis on Quality and Customer Satisfaction. There's nothing dated about the food, however. Huevos Rancheros with bison (along with nicely diced vegetables, herbs, garnishes... topped with guacamole (not the artificial junk)). A number of creative dishes, but, truthfully, I will have to taste test those on a return trip (which I intend). Love the interiors and the ambience. The youthful and energetic wait staff are eager to serve and to please. My waiter, Ahmed, left a very good impression. And all the workers were friendly and polite. Waited 45 minutes on a Friday night, close to 6 pm for a burger that was luke warm and not cooked well done as I ordered. The fries were too salty and I love salty food! The slither of onion they give you on the side, to add to your burger, is almost insulting. If you are going to charge 16-20 dollars a burger, at least cook it to the customers desired temperature and give more than a slither of onion. The service was terrible. We got our water and never saw our waiter again until I flagged him down to find out how much longer would it take to get our food. read more

The fries were on point, it was the only part of my meal I finished. The spinach I eat with the 'steak' and I already expressed my thoughts on the 'steak'.
